The repetitiveness and monotony of the arrangement probably made it hard to keep momentum. They perform dynamics well but it's the music not moving which makes it seem low energy.
It doesn't help that, to my ears at least, it seems to be recorded with the accompanying instruments kept acoustically subdued compared to the soloist. Too, as previously mentioned, accompaniment seems written as a mere backdrop for the soloist, rather than possessing an equal (or near equal) voice.
What doesn’t help is that there’s so many on each part, they can’t really play it like it needs to be played. If they did, they’d drown Nat out. And this kind of stuff isn’t really meant to be conducted, either.
Hi, as far as I (the admin) know, you can buy the arrangement online - this should be the right one: shop.layered.org/product.sc;jsessionid=9D563AC1FD41F1A836C8636FD27A4A8D.qscstrfrnt04;jsessionid=DC827C2FE394458E573EDF49CD50B2DF.p3plqscsfapp001?productId=44&categoryId=1
This number is named Brooklyn, was written by Nat McIntosh and he played it with the great band the Youngblood Brass Band. Contact them, they have several arangements. O, and no, the tuba player in this video is definitely NOT Nat McIntosh.
The tuba is really impressive I just wish the band behind him was as impressive. They don’t have much musicianship. They play what’s on the page nothing more if anything less. They play it very square which doesn’t fit with the crazy extended style of the tuba.
What a sweeping generalization! This is a brass band playing a big band style arrangement. It's a bit like Yehudi Menhuin when he tried to play jazz - it was a decent attempt, but not his forte. It doesn't mean he wasn't a great musician. This would have been a novelty number in a concert of fairly traditional brass band repertoire. A bit of fun! Don't be so scathing.
LOL What a sick tuba! I have high chops like this guy but need to develop them more! Any tips on practice method for the aspiring jazz tubist? :) Bless #thepowerofkeath
Hi, you can just contact the company Miraphone (www.miraphone.de/ ) These tubas are made individually for the clients so I cannot tell you an exact price... ;)
This is actual not a Miraphone tuba, but a tuba designed by Peter Oberrauch KG, a Brass instrument manufactury from south-tirol. I don't understand how they came up with Miraphone....
The original one was made by Peter Oberrauch and Wolfgang Rabensteiner. The tuba you see in the video is another version that Wolfgang designed together with Miraphone ;)
So, you found a guy that looks just close enough to Nat to make it confusing, then on top of that you put “Nat” in the title, but it’s actually a guy named Wolfgang?
This guy and band are talented, I can see that, but they are too good for this song. Youngblood brass band is also amazing, but they have a much rougher sound, and know exactly how to manipulate the extended techniques to their preferences, and this reminds me of a high school pep band version of a song, not in terms of skill of players, but through the arrangement and cleanliness of sound.
Trent Hamilton should have this tuba be a part of his collection.
It does
So do you play a concert tuba, contra or sousaphone?
Yes
Or cimbasso?
Yes
@@C4pt41nN3m0 nah, cimbasso has a cylindrical bore, this is a conical bore. looks like a one-of-a-kind sort of tuba to me.
Miraphone Custom Python tuba
Lol He Got The Tuba To Holler
What is that, a weaponized tactical tuba?
Ryan Williams yes
good sound and techniques. the horn sucks!!
Ryan Williams yeah
Tubazooka :-P
I think it is called a Cimbasso
My son just wants to hear the sound at 1:52 over and over. He loves it.
Just go to the zoo to see the elephants with him..
Woooooooh
Your son is autistic
I love this instrument, part of my life since 2004
It's amazing how he went that high!!
OWS Crazy1 he’s singing into the tuba
@@garrettkrawczyk9414 he is not
@@garrettkrawczyk9414 it’s just so high it sounds like he is but he ain’t
That tuba is super cool, but the whole performance is so low energy it just kinda kills it
The trombones looked bored. Like the 3rd Tbone.

БРАВО!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ectodolphanicus hey same
Wait it's in B? How'd they pull that off

In German, B means Bb and H means B natural.
I didn't know that at the time of writing my comment. I was really confused
From memory, the Youngblood BB actually play it in C.

I need to get my hands on this arrangement. Someone posted a link below, but it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Dude; way to play it!
People should use this in marching band
Usopp The Sniper exactly what I was thinking
That would be so hilarious!!! XD
Trombone Slider that would make my life a lot easier
But it would be harder to march with less area to see.
TromboneSliderr _ ikr
wow!
Talento 👏👏👏👏👏
Leo p is the bari sax version of this guy
Hardly. Leo P. sucks and is an embarrassment to the Bari Sax.
Much Respect to Mr. Rabenstiener! A peice Played Beautiful!
I need to KNOW where to buy one of these tubas/cimbaso/contra/sousaphone
These tubas are made individually for the buyer, so you have to contact the manufacturer if you are interested: www.miraphone.de/
Is this a published arrangement? I’d love to get my hands on it!
Alguem tem o arranjo dessa musica ai ?
Dude I've never seen a cimbasso like that, super wicked
It’s a Pythontuba
Danke Simon Plank für das Video
super
What a monster
If Leo P played the tuba it'd sound something like this.
This is the first time I've seen a tuba like that
As a tuba player I really want this
The brother of the Sousaphone
Pythontuba 😍
What kind of tuba is that one!
Were there two pitches being played about 4:20, before and after?
ICH WILL EINS!!!! :D
Ich auch

Hi, is it possible to by this (python) tuba? :D
(where, how much does it cost?) :)
Hi, you can just contact the company Miraphone (www.miraphone.de/ )

Captain, /I’m locked in and ready for combat/
This is the game called Tuba Hero on Impossible difficulty.
what type of tuba soloing is that called, if it has a name
teegs python tuba
teegs I think it's just called being good.
Year later: what hes using is multiphonics
How does he get out of that thing?
It´s pretty easy to lift the tuba over the head ;)
What is the name of this song

What’s the name of this song
真ん中の人が吹いてる奴めっちゃ吹いてみたい✨
ザ・パスカル それな
Not sure if its supposed to to variate in pitch that much but it sounds like voice cracks other than that and the blast it sounded amazing
Daniel Kinoshita sounds like multiphonics
It's called a lip trill fam
Can we get a Nate and Øystein battle
Is he play the tuba and singing?
Yes
I want to play this so bad, cause i'm a tuba player as well, tuba os so much fun to play especially in marching band
That tuba scream was something xD
was spielt der Nat hier für einen Bass? Marke Eigenbau? )
Der Nat heißt in diesem Fall Wolfi und spielt die Miraphone B-Python ;) LG

BrassBand Wipptal Oh i didn't know that there was more than one phyton :)
This a Python, made by Mirafone. They make them in F and BBb. GREAT cimbasso! THIS video is a BBb.
The beatboxing tuba player
What form of gandolf magical spells of evil is this !
Quick call a plumber
That dude is badass on the tuba!
Is that a Sousa-tuba?
kind of... let´s say it is a refined sousa-tuba ;)
netter Versuch Wolfgang ;-)
Quisiera aprender ingles
I watched this just to see what weird instrument I was looking at in the preview.
Lol He Got The Tuba To Holler
How those high notes...
what is this weird instrument?
I assume you are referring to the python tuba.
I think he was talking about what the conductor was holding
This instrument is the so called "Python tuba" designed by the soloist in collaboration with "Miraphone" ;)
It´s not that unusual for a conductor to hold a conductor's baton while doing his job... don't you think? ;)
Clorox Bleach lol
So, you found a guy that looks just close enough to Nat to make it confusing, then on top of that you put “Nat” in the title, but it’s actually a guy named Wolfgang?
Holy cow, a tuba with a roll cage.
What a god.
1:51 hahaha
Tuba or not tuba
that is the question... ;)
This guy would be a gift to any band. Great humor and excellent playing.
That is an instrument you put on, not pick up.
4:43 This instrument is different 😭😭😭
he´s singing and playing at the same time :D
Golfwang
No one in the band is laughing!
it´s called concentration ;)
This guy and band are talented, I can see that, but they are too good for this song. Youngblood brass band is also amazing, but they have a much rougher sound, and know exactly how to manipulate the extended techniques to their preferences, and this reminds me of a high school pep band version of a song, not in terms of skill of players, but through the arrangement and cleanliness of sound.
That is one weird sousaphone
It's a B Python Tuba
*iron man theme song*
I liked the part when he acted as a chicken.
Not bad Brooklyn
Hmmm... Schade, dass sowohl das Orchester als auch der Solist jeweils ihr eigenes Konzert spielen... 🤷🏼♂️
