- NASCAR on Fox reporter Bob Pockrass is the one journalist fans, drivers, and teams regularly turn to for breaking news and the most up-to-date information on the sport. He's been covering NASCAR since 1991.
This year, however, he found himself in the news when he was right there in the middle of the melee at North Wilkesboro when Ricky Stenhouse Jr. threw the first punch at Kyle Busch. This week, Pockrass joined me and we talked about what happened after the All-Star Race and how he embraced the aftermath.
Plus, we talked about the top news stories of the day, including Bubba Wallace's penalty, why Chase Elliott didn't receive one, Hailie Deegan losing her ride and her prospects for the future, and Kevin Harvick's harsh criticism of electric vehicles potentially racing NASCAR in the future.

Wallace didn’t get a penalty monetary fine is not a penalty a loss of 50+points that’s a penalty one he will remember for the rest of the year
What do mean the EV numbers don't show that!? US EV sales are down and falling. Companies are selling off fleets of their EVs cause of lack of US sales and rentals. Lack of charging stations, expense, lack of stable electrical grid(CA), unsustainability of EV production. World EV sales doesn't matter its in the US sales of US EV manufacturers that matters.
Well done fellows!!!
Thanks Nick! Appreciate it.
Good show sir!!
Thank you, James! Appreciate it.
I say let the drivers express themselves, as long as they don't spin the other one around
Is there an estimate on how long this grandfathered in will last. It cant be forever.
Who knows at this point. Not sure.
No one talks about how the 48 ended up behind the 23 to begin with, go back and watch the 23 and his talentless lying identity politic poster child of NASCAR spin the 48 first, he's just sour like always because the 48 won
Professional tweeter Bob Pockrass. Racing journalism such a joke. It's like an clique group of has been broadcasters that were shaken through the sifter of national network dreams all the way down to finding that one niche corner they settle into. They're in with the drivers, team and sponsors have this whole cliquey list of unwritten rules and etiquette they don't break. They serve more as a PR wing of the teams. Most news in the last five years leaks on the internet days, even weeks ahead of time. Bob Pockrass just confirms things we already know after the fact.
Stenhouse getting penalized 75000 but Bubba losing 50000 is hypocrisy at its finest
Nascar has a habit of not telling you what the rules are or what you did differently than some one else who didn't get a penalty. The whole " we will know it when we see it" way of policing
You constantly whining about bubba is crybaby behavior at its finest
None of them should’ve gotten fined! Chase didn’t get fined when he hit Suarez last weekend!
This.
@@BeatingandBanging hi
Nascar dosnt give penaltys out based on what you did, they give them out based on the optics of what you did. Its completely unfair and stupid.
A example would be we both punched some one after the race. The guy i puched gets a black eye the guy you punched dosnt. We both did the same crime we both had the same bad intentions both could have hurt some one, but nascar would penalize me and not you based purely on the optics. I also cant prove it but thare is some "Jordan effects" going on. Leagues hate to penalize there stars. They will but they hate to do it and will make every excuse for why they didnt but they have no problem throwing the book at a not so popular player/ driver. Got 0 proof but i imagine some of that going on as well.
It was poor sportsmanship and a lack of professionalism on the part of Bubba to retaliate against Bowman after the 48 won the race (just like it was when Bubba's boss Denny Hamlin blocked Bowman from doing his victory burnout at Martinsville in 2021). Aric Almirola is serving a multi-race suspension handed down by JGR for an altercation with Bubba (the details of which are unknown, but the harshness of the penalty seems to indicate a concern about alienating woke corporate sponsorship and giving Nascar's push for diversity a black eye). Contrast Almirola's severe penalty to Bubba's one race suspension for hooking Kyle Larson at Las Vegas in 2022 (taking out Christopher Bell as well), which was incredibly reckless and dangerous. As Bubba himself said in a recent Beating and Banging interview, "All in all, life is good for me." Apparently life is good for Bubba, when it comes to mild consequences for his questionable actions.
Chase Elliot should have been the only fine from the weekend
Everyone could have been fined ...get over it. It's racing .
🤡😂
Men calling every season silly season is well…
Might as well just fly a rainbow.
