I recently purchased a new jon boat trailer for my Nucanoe Kayak at Academy Sports for about 6 or 7 hundred dollars. The bunks are a lot lower. I adjusted them to fit my kayak, added a roller stantion, and changed out the 8" rims for 12" rims, and added a spare. The trailer was already assembled. I just hooked up, towed it home, and did my mods. I have maybe $900 in it, and 3 wheels with tires I can sell. It works great!

Getting my low profile two bed trailer today. I’m worried about the tires though, lots of reports of tires wearing out or even blowing out.

I hadn’t heard about the tire problem. I don’t have a ton of miles on mine yet. Hopefully they don’t give you any troubles.

Hello. Is this similar to the eco light single? I haven’t seen the low profile version anywhere. Thanks for any guidance

The MicroSport trailer is a little different design than the EcoLight. Basically, on the EcoLight, you just need those four, upright supports that hold the crossbars to be as low as possible. And you'd want to mount the bunks on their lowest setting. I would suggest first to check with Malone and see if they have a solution. Otherwise, depending on your level of DIY comfort, you could probably shorten those uprights yourself with a hacksaw and re-drill the holes. Obviously, that isn't for everyone and may void any warranty. Proceed at your own risk, but it really would be fairly easy to do. But like I said, reach out to Malone first. They may very well have a shorter version of those uprights available. I hope that helps. Thanks for the question.
