    Can’t wait. This guys tanks are unbelievable and he don’t get any sponsorship for free backgrounds, free plants free filters. It’s all out his own pocket. Puts the big fish guys to shame. Plus shows how unfair CZcams can be on creators, by not getting the subs. But giving the views to the fish boys who do the same shite once a month.

    Be very careful because when treated lumber begins to dry out it shrinks. In a cooler shaded environment where you have this aquarium it takes much longer for this to happen. One more thing is you need to use screws specifically for treated wood because if you use standard screws they will rust and possibly all the way through the screw causing failure of the screw.

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Před 11 měsíci +5

      Correct on both accounts...if you look closely in the video you will see two different types of screws in use 🙂

      @@AquariumDomain.. One other thing to consider is the possibility of off gassing and leashing of the treatment chemicals into your water and of course into the air you breathe. I’m assuming sealing is on point…?

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@damiangrouse4564 Yes. Also treated lumber now a days is done with a copper based preservative, not arsenic based chemical preservative like in the past....so not too big a deal these days for people, but certainly still needs to be properly sealed for our aquatic friends. 🙂

    Have you estimated the total cost, and cost/gallon for your monster tank build? As a reference point my 500 gallon acrylic bowfront cost me $5 per gallon and my 340 gallon with a high end furniture quality stand cost me $7 per gallon. Both tanks were used but in great shape when i bought them. I like the idea of being able to sell them some day as opposed to having to demolish something much larger. Great video btw.

    Curious as to why you wouldn’t build this massive tank out of concrete blocks? Is it cost, difficulty or something else? I would just think the concrete would be more water resistant and durable long term.

    • @AquariumDomain.
      @AquariumDomain.  Před 11 měsíci

      If it was done in concrete it would be poured / reinforced concrete, and there are a whole bunch of reasons that I personally would not want to build this using concrete. However, in regards to longevity, the method I use wood/fiberglass/epoxy will last a very long time (well beyond my lifetime).
      If the aquarium were built outside where the outside of the tank would be exposed to high levels of humidity or sunlight it would be a different story and concrete would be longer lasting, but not so much in an interior conditioned space.

    I have a 500, a 340 and 200 gallon aquariums. I refer to my what you call "wetland" filter as an aquaponic grow bed with my 500. I cover this setup in detail on my channel. I am a biologist and usually have several experiments running in my system. In any event i have measured the nitrogen uptake for various types of plants. I have found that water sprite, water lettuce and amazon swords consume a lot more ammonia wastes than pothos, although i use pothos on my 500 because the fish would schred any plants. On another topic i have decided to have large, used acrylic aquariums as opposed to a giant in-place build like yours because i am concerned about the expense of dismantling the aquarium if and when my home is sold - which is inevitable some day. Was this a concern for you when deciding on building your monster tank?

      I have watched and enjoyed your videos on your aquaponic grow beds and your sump filtration. I think the wetland filter differs in that it is a combination of amazing mechanical and biological filtration with aquaponic grow bed for nutrient export...kind of combing a sump and grow bed. I spent 23 in a job that required me to move a lot and travel around the world..I am never moving again...so I do not factor that in at all and I have no intention to dismantle the tanks in my lifetime....that will be somebody else's problem 😀

    I’m just curious, but how are you gonna get your pumps, air ration ect to a power out lit? It looks like the tank is pushed all the way up to the wall, so will the cords be coming from the front or is there a design feature built in?

      Nope, I purposely built this room just for the aquariums...check out the thumbnail and look at the white outlet covers above the tank. 😂
