Carlo TORRIANI was born in Milan and graduated in Economics from Bocconi University. He completed his musical studies privately and began to study singing with Sara Corti Sforni and Maria Luisa Cioni. After winning numerous awards and competitions, he made his debut in IL TABARRO at the Bonci Theatre in Cesena. He then performs the main roles in LA TRAVIATA (Germont), RIGOLETTO (Rigoletto), BOHEME (Marcello), NABUCCO (Nabucco), TOSCA (Scarpia), CARMEN (Escamillo), PAGLIACCI (Tonio and Silvio), OTELLO (Iago), DON GIOVANNI (Don Giovanni), CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA (Alfio).
Realizing his artistic rendering in comic characters, he decides to devote himself mainly to the "buffo" roles, performing Don Bartolo in Rossini's (Trentino Opera Festival, Teatro San Babila, Milan) and Paisiello's (Megaron of Athens) IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA, Dulcamara in ELISIR D'AMORE (Teatro Civico Viotti di Vercelli), Schaunard in BOHEME (Teatro Cilea di Reggio Calabria), Buonafede in IL MONDO DELLA LUNA (Teatro Bonci di Cesena), Don Annibale in IL CAMPANELLO (Marrucino Theatre of Chieti), Gasparo in RITA (Teatro Bellini in Adrano), Don Alfonso in COSI' FAN TUTTE (Megaron of Athens), Il Conte in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (Teatro Marrucino di Chieti), Geronimo in IL MATRIMONIO SEGRETO (Teatro Bonci di Cesena), Umberto in Pergolesi's SERVA PADRONA and Tracollo in LIVIETTA E TRACOLLO (Teatro del Palazzo del Parco di Bordighera), and IL FILOSOFO DI CAMPAGNA (don Tritemio) by Baldassarre Galuppi at the Teatro Comunale di Belluno, where he was also engaged as director, Don Bartolo in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO at the Teatro Comunale di Belluno and Don Grisobolo in Domenico Cimarosa's L'IMPRESARIO IN ANGUSTIE at the Teatro Belloni di Barlassina.
From 2013 Carlo TORRIANI is the Artistic Director of the label OPERA DISCOVERY RECORDS.
