Excellent review. I was the same way, when the Dragonfly was announced, this guy was the first figure I thought of. I'm glad they did him justice and I'm glad they didn't shoehorn a Night Force version of him in as one of the tiers.
I always saw Airborne as air assault. His original card art shows him fast roping and his gear looks like it is designed for rappelling. He had a good couple of issues in the comic when he and Spirit engage in a firefight with Destro and Firefly who attacked Snake Eyes at his cabin.
One of the best things about watching this channel is 1) A voice smooth as Scotch 2) The minute he shows a figure on the channel I know the figure will be available soon. Great work big man 🤙
Airborne has been my number 1 figure I’ve been wanting and waiting for since I started collecting Classified. I can now recreate the firefight from GI Joe ARAH #31. One of the best action sequences in the whole series IMO.
In that episode also airborne was voice by Peter Cullen aka Optimus prime. So besides the good accessories, this figure I know of is excellent. Good job on the review
Airborne was one of the first multi articulated Action Force figures I got as a kid and I have been waiting for them to release him. Sweet you guys have got him already. It's looking like months for us guys but your review has raised my excitement levels.
Lol, thats exactly how I feel now every time I get a new figure! I always had a very limited amount of figures as a kid but now I have every cool figure I've ever wanted (and they look way better now, too!) and that excited happy feeling when I score a new fig never gets old! Armadillo is most likely Native, but his filecard doesn’t mention any tribal affiliation. The clues are his last name, Makepeace, and his birthplace; Ft. Huachuca AZ. Sgt. Redmack is Arapaho.
Wow, I didn't know there was much more Indian representation in the Joe's. That is very cool to know. I've been watching all the old school episodes (Sunbow). I've been finding them for free all over CZcams. There are a lot of dedicated Joe fans who upload every episode on their channels✌️
Airborne is a pretty solid Joe. I like that 4-eyed (night vision?) goggles. I am soooo regretting not going in on the Dragonfly! Next Haslab I am not missing! I have been mixing and matching different goggles for the Joe's helmet, you can really find some cool looks when doing this. Awesome review/vid!✌️
I can’t wait to get him. Another awesome Classified figure. Glad he didn’t come with the Dragonfly only because I think ppl would’ve rioted. I wish he came with a more ARAH rifle, I haven’t decided if he’s getting the CG rifle or a Mark2Toys rifle with the bayonet.
good review bro [classified] in Quebec, the file said he was born around here, same for Grunt because of the 2 languages, we actually missed a lot of file infos comparing it s only years later with the Marvel 'order of battle' comic that I found the bugg as files were now only English and at last complete Airborne I m always impressed at how great the og design endures and still shines I did nt do much with Airborne in the 80s once I got the Dragonfly, he sat in and never really did anything else now, I ll probably never have it, so he s going to be more active and since my team consists of 82 - 83 mostly, he s sure to see action he needs to fill Shockwave or Beach head s duty I sure wish I could get 4 ram bikes and jump packs to equip my small elite team though I ll try to manage and get the vamp and mms, but that can t carry all the team I m not sure for you guys, but I d sure love to get an olive green Hummer like in 2005 maybe I d get 2, and the vamp for recon if it was a 60th anniversary piece, I d love an abram and hummer, yeah, Cobra could have many stingers and vamps, or the H - 3 as in 'rise of Cobra' but I d rather have something realistic for my team so now you know... good show bro
I don't get why they couldn't make the NVG just flip up and down on this one. They figured it out for Wolf Spider, but we're back to the Valaverse style of just pegging them in upside down. Looking forward to getting him and definitely going to give him the Crimson Guard rifle, if I don't just buy a solid 3D printed one somewhere.

Looking forward to adding him to the roster. Feel they did a great job with paint scheme and it doesn't look cheesy or outdated. I am sure we will see repaints of him and I can only hope moving forward we get a parachute and parachute rig. Bobby, don't think that is a silver carabiner. Looks like a parachute pull handle. I saw this one at Target today. I had to leave him behind because I was choosing between this figure and another toy. If he still at Target next week I'll for sure pick him up. But I doubt it. But yeah great figure. My thing.
So the sky diver that’s supposed to be on shadow trackers artwork is actually “skydive”. And the reasoning for that is because pursuit of cobra, had sky dive, paired with shadow tracker in shadow trackers file card. It’s just a nod to the file card

So he became a lawyer, but quit because he didn't like paperwork. So he joins the military, where you do see action, but also have to fill out tons of paperwork.

Airborne's face sculpt makes him look like he's in his late 30s. Cool if that works for you. Definitely not a new recruit. Gives the impression Hasbro is trying to correct for Falcon ("Team America Matt Damon") but still can't get its faces right. Spirit is awesome but Airborne falls short imho. The primary reason is the face but also because to many design decisions were influenced by nostalgia. A few modern tweaks could have made this figure exceptional.
Says the guy who probably never owned a Dragonfly as a kid. Airborne and Wild Bill were always in there together… (The only real question was whether you went with the seating arrangement from the toy box and cartoon or the correct seating arrangement from actual Huey Cobras and the Larry Hama-penned Marvel Comics run. Heh.)

Great figure! The helmet and green goggles could of maybe used a Little brown paint detail to break em up a bit is my only critique

Such a turn down with these gummy like weapons and accessories. Hasbro has cheaped out. That is why I stop collecting and supporting them.
