Can you wild camp in the Italian Dolomites? Vanlife Europe

First leg of our European road trip in our VW T5 California campervan is a free camping spot high up in the Dolomites mountain range, Northern Italy.
We used the Eurotunnel and drove for 2 days to reach the Italian Alps and slept 1800m above sea level to see one of the best views we've ever woken up to, looked over by the majestic Sassongher mountain.
