I'd totally do an Everest Raptor
Since 2004 I own gen 1 TDI , 2 TDI & 3 TDCi Everest , really love this vihicle..
It would be cool to see Ford bring the Everest over here to the U.S. Imo, Ford tends to do better with body-on-frame vehicles just because theyâve had so much experience with the F-150.
Thank you for this detailed walk through!!
Glad ford is looking after you bro. Well done mate. đ€. Great initial review.
Great upload.Just subscribed your channel love these everests especially titanium ones.looking forward for more videos of ford Everest titanium with pov drives
great reveiw
Great review, thank you .
Never really considered an Everest , but sounds like itâs worth a look.
Itâs a great option
Online bookings opened online in South Africa today. Wonder what accessories will be on offer given no ARB here. All I need is onboard compressor, dual battery, fridge and kitchen set up! Will order mine for 2024âŠwaiting for more testing.
You can option aux buttons in the everest. It removes the sunglass holder though. The switches aren't like the ranger switches, more like buttons.
Ohhh true ? Thatâs wicked then I swear ford told me it wasnât an option. Must have got that mixed up đđđŒ cheers for that info.
@ 12:40 mark, where the tailgate is lowering, why are the D pillars so thick!? Wow! Seems like a lot of lost space in some parts of the cargo bay area due to the bulky protrusion of the interior plastics, not to mention a much narrower rear glass vision. At least there is a scalloped area for a golf bag. Winder for the spare is in a bad location, if a drawer system were put in.
Overall, looks like a very compelling package for family touring and towing purposes. Well done Ford Australia engineers! Credit to you guys for the conception and design of this vehicle. Now let's hope the dealers can do justice to resolve any issues for customers.
For now it looks like Ford Australia has lit a fire under Toyota's Fortuner/Prado/300 Series offerings.
You forgot to mention the usb for dash cam, rear mirror
Yes I did đ€Ł
I have just been to Ford with the intention of ordering a Sport in blueâŠhowever the wait time is around 9 months, I thought great gives me time to start collecting stuff to build it upâŠhowever as my wife pointed out we could have a Ambiante now and itâs almost $20k cheaper and to be perfectly honest has everything I need except the V6(not a deal breaker though as I intend on towing a 1 ton camper trailer anyway).
The sport is almost to nice looking to take off road and like the current Ute blue paint shows up scratches easily.
Think Iâll be driving a white Ambiante in a couple of weeks and the money saved over a sport will go towards wheels, tyres and a bull bar.
When is the island opening back up !?
Great review đ. I have booked the sport varient and plan to do some light off-road and explore the Australian outback. I am new to 4Ă4 and this will be my first off-road car. Do I recommend I opt for the AT tyres as compared to the HT tyres. Thanks đ
Toyo tires or bf Goodrich tyres are the bomb
Auxiliary switches in the roof are an add on option for the Everest too. We recently sat down with a dealer to select all the ARB accessories for our Sport variant. Ordered in June is set for delivery in February (approx 8 months)
I must have missed that memo, I thought only ranger got Aux switches in the roof. Il have to look that up đ€đŒ
@@TyFenwick Why didn't you mention anything about the Prado as a competitor.
What accessories did you end up getting? We ordered our sport in April, recently been told dec/jan
@@MC-BigCara We got as much as possible ARB wise. Summit Sahara Bar with light, winch, under body armour, lights, snorkel, base rack, aux switches in roof, touring pack. We want to lift 2" & run airbags (we'll be towing a hybrid) so might have to have that fitted after market
@@downunderdaz212 potentially stupid question, did you get all the ARB stuff through the ford dealer and not direct from ARB and if so is it the same price as doing it after market with ARB? We are keen to do much of the same, so very interested in how that works, thanks.
More on the F150 when ya get it mate!đ
Hopefully I get invited to that one mate đđđŒ
I have a Sport on pre-order....still waiting to test drive. I have set my Y62 up well enough, so not keen on doing it all over again. With all the push on electric vehicles over the next couple of years, I think fuel will go down in price.
I think I will supercharge my Patrol....wifey won't let me buy a 4wd truck, so may as well go hard with what already have........
Beautiful SUV's and trucks, but we dont get those here in the USA , wish we did ,, would buy one.
America gets Ford Bronco and Ford Expedition.
How much does the rear look like a 300 series
Great run down. Not sure if I would compare the Everest to a 200/300 or Y62, however they do look like a genuine competitor to the Prado with better tech, engine etc. thanks for the overview.
Ford is going that direction with Everest . They want the Everest in the future to stand up right next to LC300 as a competitor I believe.
When Fordâs reliability can even be half as good as Toyotaâs, then maybe I would say it is a competitor to the Prado.
Great videođ.
Are you able to compare the comfort ride against a Prado?
If Toyota wants to offer me up a Prado I can do đđŒ
I looked into a V6 Everest but the deal breakers for me are the wheel options arenât there to get a decent off road profile, and that engine from Landrover heritage, just having a thermo fan might be fine in Europe but Iâll be impressed if it holds up in Australian conditions. Forward facing air intake and Adblue yuk đ€ź
Otherwise itâs a great vehicle for many people
Shame they don't have a split tailgate. That's what would have brough across all the 200 drivers from upgrading to the 300
Would have loved to see some off-road footage hahah. My local Ford just got in a Ranger Raptor so hoping to get it out for a drive while I wait for the demo Everest. In saying that my Everest should only be a couple weeks away. Hoping the Meteor Grey matches up with the Blacked out sports look, I wasnât keen for the extra wait on the blue or orange. As I commented previously Iâve order the ARB bar with steps and rails. Now waiting for Long Range tank and either ARB BP51 Suspension or I want to get in contact with JMACX and see what they can do regarding an engineered lift and gvm upgrade.
Keen to be the first Next Gen Everest over the Simpson so Iâd like to get to 300mm clearance underneath.
Would be interesting to know what it would take to put Raptor suspension underneath the Everest aftermarket, Surely JMACX will stretch to doing the new pair of Fords now with how many more there will be then Landcruisers in the market.
Yeah unfortunately I couldnât get any during the drive and had no b-roll. However itâs so bloody good off-road đđŒđđŒđđŒ
Be awesome to bolt the gen 1 raptor suspension into it if itâs not to hard đđŒđđŒđđŒ
@@TyFenwick It doesnât even have to have the same high speed performance as the Raptor, just the extra clearance. Iâve been trying to figure out what the difference hardware wise underneath is between the Raptor and Everest. So far all I can tell is the fox 2.5 or 3.0 shocks and extra strengthened chassis. Might have to get a build consult for the Simpson. When Iâm up in Newcastle/The Bay over the holidays.
âIt's possible, but there is a problem with articulation on the back axle. Ford said although it's fantastic The rear back door shut line doesn't allow enough room. Ford said it will be too costly for a region. Read an article they did indeed build 2 for evaluation. The lame excuse," We don't think the market is there to justify the cost" Says...... WHAT.
@@fhclappen8595 yeah Iâve read all that as well, youâd just think, look at all the aftermarket shit that goes into the 70 series, people are spending 50k just to get a coil rear end so why not at least selling the Everest in a spec with the fox suspension and 300mm ground clearance. Unless they are gonna release the bronco here and donât want to compete with themselves.
Is the Ambiente quieter at motorway speeds on the 17 inch wheels as opposed to the 20's on the Sport? I didn't find the Sport super quiet at motorway speeds.
I noticed that the 21âs were harsher on the road not as smooth as 17s because side wall differences basically more tyre better ride.
Nah I'll keep me y62 mate as a petrol guzzler they're not that bad have one now 12-month stock standard average fuel on long trips 11.5 l buddy towing a caravan anything from 18 to 22 l per 100.
Roof rack and cleaning that moon roof would be a pain
I see it as a good way to tie things off on a roof rack đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Hi Ty please mate can you do a vid on your take of the Ford Bronco Raptor. Why aren't Ford offering it here in Australia? Cheers mate love your channel đđ
See what I can do mate đ
Do any of the rangers come with the blue interior ambient lighting?
I donât believe so I think itâs only platinum Everest
@@TyFenwick That's what I thought too.
Theyâre never going to sell any of these out bush simply due to the add blue requirement. Add blue is constantly unavailable out west in Australia in Queensland anyways. Fuck buying a vehicle that cannot function without an extra additive which is always unavailable
After you looked at the sport V6 in person, do you think I could remove the 3rd row seat and put in a fridge and drawers
Yeah I mentioned that in the video
@@TyFenwick Sorry mate,I asked the question before you mentioned it đ
@@iansmith3167 Don't cover the winder for the spare.
@@farzana6676 anyone doing serious touring overland would probably end up replacing where the spare is with an extra fuel or water tank. Then put a rear bar on to carry a spare and jerrycan. Also in same conditions most will move to 33â tyres which wonât fit underneath anyway.
such a pity the sport has no big sunroof.
They are anonymous. Don't look good, don't look bad. They blend in. Dunno if that's good or bad.
My other car lexus has intelligent high beam and low beam , so toyota can add that feature too, to its toyota brands if they wanted.
Cool story đ
@@888FrAz yessssssss cool lights too haha
This is what the Ford Explorer should've been for the United States the Explorer is just ugly but the Everest is awesome looking
did all this bull go on in the horse and cart days when the were being displaced
All fun and games until Toyota releases the new Prado now with a 1.8L naturally aspirated diesel making 180nm of torque AND it will last forever AND on the top two trim levels you now get electric backrest adjustment for the passenger seat too!! AND it will come with a smaller fuel tank AND be 50mm lower to the ground AND a special GR Apex Invincible model with black wheels, black badges, black grill, fake black vents, black decals, black roof, black door handles, black mirror caps, black dildo all for the small price of $122,000.
*Partial fake leather seats (headrest only) additional cost, 3.3 V6 model rated to max tow 29kg, V6 only available in front wheel drive, no spare tyre available, headlights do not come with bulbs, minimum wait time for delivery 2029, 4 inch touch screen standard if dealer gets to touch you first. Apple car play subscription only, android auto just no. Ambient lighting included (3 coloured rolls of tape to stick on dome light), 200 year warranty standard.
I'm still on the adds and haven't even see the video yet and already know your thumbnail is click bait.
The everest isn't ment to be a competitor to the LC300 lol
Ford is 100% on the right path with the new EVEREST. This generation of Everest has stepped up leaps and bounds from previous one.
Talking with Ford they are on a path for Everest vs LC300 just like Ranger vs Hilux
And with TOYOTA turning off the order books for LC300 ? I believe if Ford can supply people will buy.
To be honest, the LC300 is way over rated in my opinion. It's an ok SUV that is way too expensive for what you get. In my opinion, the LC300 GX, GXL and VX should all be priced at around the $80K mark. There is just not enough vehicle to justify the price, and don't get me started on the $130k Sahara.
@@TyFenwick No, Everest is in direct competition for the Toyota Prado. Ford have stated this. You are the first person to compare it to an LC300/Y62.
They are a different class of vehicle.
@@1989cranston An argument could be made that the Everest and LC300 are getting the same ARB Bullbar. The Everest has a larger payload by 46kg, the land cruiser is only 50mm longer, 70mm wider and 110mm taller. Which in terms of height, I would almost count this as a disadvantage when on small tracks and on fuel economy aerodynamics. Both are configured as 5 or 7 seats. The Everest has a longer wheelbase by 50mm. Both have very similar features including the differing terrain settings. Both have V6 Turbodiesels towing 3.5tonne.
Rather than an Everest Raptor Ford should develop a slightly more hardcore off-road version with a twin turbo set up like in the Landrover Discoveries as itâs the same engine. They should give it a slight suspension lift and sell it on 33â tyres, even a slight GVM upgrade of 50-100kgs and it would be virtually identical to the Landcruiser.
@@joshmunday3524 I haven't fact checked what you just wrote so I'm assuming it is all correct.
The physical size of the vehicle doesn't change the category in this respect, we know the Everest is a big car, but so is the Prado. The LC300 is still vastly larger on internal dimensions. has more power and torque and most likely would feel more planted on the road which is a plus for towing, which is basically what the LC300 is all about a luxury towing rig.
It is funny because I'm all about Ford and can't see the appeal in Toyotas due to the crazy pricing they put on their lineup, I am about 2 weeks away from taking delivery of my V6 Everest Platinum, but I am also not naive enough to think that the Everest and LC300 are meant to be in competition to each other.
I don't think it would take much for them to make it be in competition with each other and I am sure people will build them up to do so. I am excited to see what some people do to the tuning of the V6 in the Everest, if people do a twin-turbo setup on them and how they will hold up.
Do you still have to be vaxxed in Australia to come outside, travel etc
Nope
Fkn 21s? 100% pavment princess đ€·ââïžđ€Šââïž
Platinum can be optioned with Offroad Pack which gives you 18" wheels with All terrains. I agree with you though - 21s have no place on a vehicle if you want to go offroad.
I donât know, Iâm still not đŻ sold, exterior looks great, tech is great, but the interiorâŠ..still looks really grey plastic
Yeah I agree with you a little bit on that to mate.
That tow bar in the little boot cubby is going to kill you in an accident, and yes I have seen it and hope not to again.
Biggest disappointment is that second row seat. Expect better in a 75k vehicle. So disappointing I'm looking at a sportage
What about a Hyundai i30??
@@billybob1511 not even close
What exactly is wrong with the seats, Iâve just been and looked at one as my kids are getting bigger and thereâs heaps of leg room, more than just about anything else I looked at.
@@Piecenotwar they feel like a bench and not that comfortable. Wouldn't want to sit there longer than 20min
Look out for Toyota, they probably can give you a lift back to the closest civilization.
Shit on toyota
