The price is insane
Love the idea and would buy one but if only these companies made a way to plug a second USB-C for a microphone I could be interested. I am sure that would not be hard to design into the SSD case. Although they need to do is build in a hub into the case. I will therefore for the time being carry on recording internally so my USB socket is free to plug in my Sennheiser microphone.
yeah, I know what you mean ... I think the issues is that the iPhone can't provide enough power for a SSD and audio device at the same time ... even with an iPad Hub or the Belkin Hub I can't use a SSD or fast flash drive and the Rode WirelessPro at the same time for example
@@MichaelSchmidt_UrbnPxl That’s interesting. I have tried the Belgian hub but only to see the various things plugged in appear so I assumed it would work OK. I will anyway stick to recording on the phones internal 1TB as this works just fine.
As for storage I shot a friend’s wedding yesterday and still had space to spare. As for off loading if you use a fast USB C cable it takes very little time to off load to a SSD for editing and this way of working leaves the port free for my Sennheiser microphone.
My biggest gripe with the system is I do not for one second understand why Apple have not sorted it so I can just plug my iPhone in and it comes up as a drive this would be a great help. My other thing is with BlackMagic and the histogram which I would love to be able to change to say a waveform and adjust the intensity and size as at time it is hard to see in sunlight.
Apart from this though the iPhone 15 Pro Max produces really nice pictures and is so much more convenient to use than my Canon for most things.

new to the iPhone, but what would you be able to use the SSD for aside from storing more pictures and videos?
well you can record Video 4k ProRes HQ with 24-60fps in Apple Log ( flat color profile/10 bit 4:2:2 color space not sharpened in phone, clean with more dynamic range) directly on that SSD
Does it work with Sherpa nd filter the magnetic ?
