I live in the USA. I was watching England because I have a British friend here where I live. I turned the channel at the 3 minute mark in extra time because I thought they were done. You will be fully honest, when facing Switzerland. They have a very strong midfield, dedicated to both attack and defence.
England have done really well getting to the Euro finals let alone the last 8 of it. "Pride goeth before a fall" and that has plagued the England side and England fans alike for decades. Pride could be the thorn in their side. Perhaps Southgate and his players are approaching these finals with a tactical sobriety based on that incite/hindsight that the fans(lost in their proud delirium and unreasonable expectations) are just too myopically minded to grasp, that might explain the disconnect leading to the "unusual environment". By all means let the team go forward with the courage of a lion but leave "pride" out, it might be the key to avoid a fall this time around. Perhaps the best tactic for both the team and fans alike is to be humble before being humbled, again.

the first 90 minutes i was shitting myself, we played like absolute shite and we only got insanely lucky in the final 95th minute of Bellingham scoring, but this doesn't mean England are now gods all of a sudden, Switzerland ain't gonna be like this and Southgate needs to fix his fucking tactics

Regarding the subs, Slovakia had made 4 at 1-0 up before the 81st min and England had made 1 which was injury forced, tells you all you need to know and Eze and Toney were threw on in desperation. Despite the comeback I can't help but feel the writings on the wall for Southgate. He's simply not good enough and luck has got him through, for me he should have gone after the last Euro but here we are 2 tournaments later and nothing has changed. This football I'm watching under him is some of the worst I've seen at any level, watching Liverpool under Hodgson was horrendous but I generally think this is worse.

If Bellingham plays defense mid England would be much better. The reason why the attack is starved is because the holing midfielders don’t have the confidence to play the ball forward. Bellingham would change that.
