Hi everyone!
For the first time traveller to Japan, the airport can be very intimidating and confusing.. I remember when I first went I felt that way! In today's video I'm going to show you guys and also tell you what you should do before you leave the airport, whether it may be Narita or Haneda Airport, to make your travelling easier! I also show you quickly the different methods of transport you can take from the airport into central Tokyo! I always travel with a huge suitcase so I also show you what you can do to get it sent straight to your hotels so you don't have to worry about it!! Hope you enjoy this video and hope it was helpful!

I’m so glad you showed us the SIM card process. I remember you talking about it but I never really understood how to get it.
@@michalPL88 there will be instructions on the packaging itself! Something like changing the APN or whatever
Google Fi FTW!
How come everyone recommends to get a local SIM? Will an international/UK sim not work on the Japan networks?
@@nick1635 Yes, but I guess will be very expensive.
Better get pocket wifi
I really want to visit Japan atleast once in my life time therefore am watching all these even though I have no plans to go to Japan anywhere.
THANK YOU SO MUCH KIM!
Me and my future Husband want to go to Japan next Year as our Honeymoon Trip.
ALL (Really all) of your Japan Videos are a lot of help for us. We are from Germany, and we can understand your videos so easy.
I am Really thankful that i found your Channel many years ago.
Thank you so so so so much 😊❤️
I'm so glad they were helpful! I hope you have a great honeymoon!
My first time, after customs and immigration, I walked to get my pocket wifi, then down stairs exchanged some cash real quick, walked across the hall to the jr store and got my round trip narita express. Then down to the tracks, got a drink out of the vending machine and waited for the train to Tokyo Station
Very informative.. Thank you so much. But you didn’t tell about currency exchange..
Because I don’t exchange at the airport, rates are terrible :)
kimdao So where should one exchange? I heard the rates are the same as in the banks ..
I explained it in a previous video but I exchange in Australia. And no, every single airport around the world jacks up the rates for currencies so you get ripped off.
You need a little to get started... which you can get at home, or the airport in Japan. TBH the rate was pretty decent last time I was there, so I exchanged more than normal so I'd have a little more leeway. Well, honestly I usually have enough in reserve to not have to, but I was with some Japan newbies who had to exchange, so I had THEM exchange more, lol.
I exchange the bulk in Tokyo through, after checking a few different exchanges to see who's giving the best rate. It can switch around a little bit from year to year, so you don't want to automatically trust a company that used to be good without checking the numbers.
But, TBH, it apparently depends a lot on what currency you're using. And that takes research on your own part.
I order a little from my bank in the states.. comes in the mail. Then in Japan go to the ATM at 7-11 exchange rate was good.
This was so well put together and so well filmed!!! I loved this style of video!! 💖💖
Thank you so much ❤️
Hello youuu
It was frighteningly perfect honestly D: I was amazed, I wish to someday have those filming and editing skills
@@kimdaobut how do you put together such a professional video time and time again? Do you have a camera operator following you around? How do you add audio visuals and voice overs to your video?
It's cable tv quality 👍
hey wait- i think i've seen you somewhere. i've only ever seen one person named "oatmeal" haha
I'm going to japan next month. And what scared me is "Landed in Japan" for the first time.
now...Japan....tokeo....town.....now....rag..bagala....lej....I...wll
I've been to Japan twice and didn't even know about the luggage service! It was so stressful bringing my luggage around esp. when I was travelling with family. You just saved my life for future visits to Japan omg bless your soul
these types of videos make me want to be japanese (':
Honestly this is the most useful video I’ve seen
I’m so glad there’s helpful videos like this. I really appreciate it that you took your time to make this and help us.
💕🌸
Wow, Kim! This video is edited and filmed so nicely and you explained everything well - one can clearly see the work you put into it! Also, you look especially stunning here! 💜
Momma cat and kitten luggage delivery service is a real time/arm/life saver. Thank you for the code
/the blue in your hair looks very nice with the purple
//and now I’m craving some Osaka street food, the scallops to be precise
thank you so much! haha
It’s good to see a recent video also in Tokyo, it makes me feel like traveling solo is an approachable experience. Nothing to be afraid of, especially since my trip is coming up end of October. Thank you so much Kim.
I travel solo all the time to Japan do you’ll be fine!
traveling solo in japan can be a little scary the first time but once you get there and get comfortable, it gets a lot easier. i was more nervous because i don't know the language which can make things a little bit difficult. there were a couple people though who saw me on this last trip i went on to tokyo who asked if i needed help (which was surprising tbh since the first time i went alone no one asked if i needed help) if you know japanese, i'm sure it'll be easier as well.
@@kyeoptawerk93ah travelling solo is kinda boring tho imo at least, visiting a new country is cool and all but having friends/family makes it all the more enjoyable.
This is the best guide video! It’s amazing! Really proud of your work!!
This is so helpful! And I also love the way you edit this video. Looking forward for your Japan videos.
Yeah, Japan is amazing country 😀
Please visit and enjoy my channel as well🙏
you don't know how many times I've rewatched this video. I hope I can go to japan one day

Thank you for coming to our country.
I had never known such a very convenience survives in the luggage’s moving company unless I watched this video.
I watched all your japanese travel related videos, it helped me so much, so thank you😘 i will go to japan in october for 11 days❤
parisa GH yay!! I hope you have lots of fun!
This was me when I first visited Australia. Thanks Kim for the tips!
Kim has very helpful information in her videos. It’s not a lot of fluff like some CZcamsrs. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much Kim! I’m going to Tokyo for the first time in early December for my honeymoon. I’ve been doing a ton of research but you always have the best tips and tricks! Can’t thank you enough for all of this fantastic content! 🙏🏼
Damn, you're lucky, just before corona-fuck-everyone virus.
Thank you so much for doing this Kim!! It definitely helped me a lot esp the luggage service info and I'd definitely use some of your tips during my travel to Tokyo next April! :)
Girl! How did you know I needed this. Just in timeee and I’m dying over your Palm Springs backpack and ace sneakers 😍
Great tips! Arigato kimdao
Great tips! They will be so helpful! Couldn't help laughing at your reactions and looking confused when arriving there... would definitely be my reaction without tips on what to do.
Hahahha

I loved Japan!! I was there just a month ago and we followed your recommendations... the luggage service was the best!!! I really recommend everyone to use it! Enjoy Tokyo, Kim!
Mmm how can one access the lugage service on the phone?! I mean by what name does it go by?!
@@seasons1146 hi! I really don’t know because we did the luggage service from the reception of our hotels. We did it from Osaka to Kyoto, Kyoto to Kanazawa and Kanazawa to Tokyo. It’s fast, reliable and so convenient.

The luggage service makes thing so much better
Honestly, this video come in a really good time!! My flight is tomorrow
How is it that your transitional hair colors still look so amazing? Very helpful video too!
Ultrafade by Rich did my hair and he is absolutely amazing!!
Perfect timing, My brother and i are doing this in a little over a months time and this cleared up any little bit of stress i had for getting around Japan :)
Thanks for the video. It was great information!! I’m planning a trip to Japan with my husband next year. Love your videos also!!!
Such perfect timing cause I'm going to Tokyo for the first time next month so thank you so much for this 🙏
We bought a prepaid SIM Card at the electric store named BIC Camera located at the Terminal 1, 4 th Floor (5 GB for about 16 €).The prepaid cards sold in the vending machines are very expensive to my opinion. You can compare the prices after your arriving. We bought this one, with a cat)) www.bmobile.ne.jp/english/
Oh my God, so cool, I love it... I heard about Japan have independent and responsible and politeness people,,,
I want to go Japan so badly...
I LOVE JAPAN!! ❤️😍
Kim, I've created a playlists from all your Japan/Korea videos and can I just say, your videos are so helpful. It's like ive got a friend helping me on my future trip to Japan. Thank you thank you for these amazing videos 💗
aww I'm so glad that it has been helpful!
What a great bump up in production quality! Good job kimmothy!
The beginning of this video would basically me when I travel a Japan for the first time.
This is great! I wish my friend and I knew about the luggage service! It was an adventure itself to lug our large luggage around.
oh yes, it's the worst!
kimdao omg you replied! 🥰 could you do more videos like this for Japan?
My friend and I used your videos to plan our trip to Japan in 2018 and you were the only one we found that had a capsule hotel in Akihabara for women only. Surprisingly it was really difficult to find a women only capsule hotel near Tokyo station! All the closer ones seemed to cater to only men.
It would be awesome to see more helpful travel tips like this since we never knew about the luggage service in Japan and we did a lot of research before our trip!
Thank you for sharing your experience. You're an angel✨
I watched this video on a friend computer but had to long in in my account to compliment it. I just loved the helpfulness and how was edited 💗 The luggage shipping tip is very appreciated ☺️!
surprised you didn't talk about Suica cards - we found them invaluable on our trip.
Or no mention of prices for ANYTHING.
Or just anything except luggage send service... :/
yep its not a good guide. Issues :
1st of SIM card is complicated to connect and install so get a wifi device since it is simple to install.
2nd train is the easiest option and you need an IC card mostly for your intire stay, single tickets are extremely complicated for first time visitors and time consuming in general.
3rd prices ?
4th how will you find where to drop off the bus will they say it in english or write it somewhere ? Or will someone say the name of the station in japanese and good luck
5th going to the center for the first time ? without guide or knowledge of the city ? Thats insane your first day should be a guide of the city with a guide or a group so you get to adapt a little.
6th half of the video is a shopping and showing parts of the city.
It felt like this was her 10th time and she was trying to make it seem as easy as it is for her to others..
Man she’s trying her best and it’s one little mistake
No need to be rude, just tell her in a gentle way
And she may not talk about it, but she shows the suica card in her phone
Love the luggage delivery service ..so helpful for mums who travels with toodler
Is it expensive? What's the name of app to do it before?
This was so helpful,thank you!!
Going to Tokyo in June. This video is just what I needed. Btw you hair is amazeballs!! Thanks, love🥰🥰
I'm going to Japan the first time next month and this video is super helpful!
Not really... don't do too much on Airport since it overprice.. Train and take your thing to hotel first would be the best option... study map and expect to face some problem along the way... You want stress free... don't think of coming to Japan.....
@@campkira I'm excited either way soooo 🤷
@@campkira Damn you must be fun at parties.. way to kill the mood lol
@@campkira bruh
I’m still in love with your hair 😍
This literally came right on time for me... thank you!!!!!!
Your video is so helpful. These are GREAT TIPS !!! Thank you.
I've only just booked my flights yesterday, I feel less stressed after watching this
Have you been yet?
I’m literally moving to Japan today and you posted this video. Thank you so much!❤️
Good luck!!!
Where did you move to in Japan?
Irish Potato Warrior Okayama for college
@@jfloww Sweet! Okayama's a nice city. The downtown campus (off 53 is nice), the other campus where the Dental college is, is ok. Enjoy the city! If you get a chance, check out the Kibiji bike path that runs from the town, down to Soja.
So useful and it is in detail! Love it~ thank you so much every time for great videos
Thanks so much for this video Kim! I saw it just before we came to Japan for the first time. Originally I was thinking about trying the luggage service and then taking the train to Shibuya, but in the end we were just really tired after the travelling, and this video made me consider trying the limousine bus transfer service. Well after actually taking the city trains later in our trip, I am SO glad that we made that choice, it would have been really difficult for us to navigate around the trains with all the luggage and a child in tow while being so jet lagged! We thought the limousine bus service was really good and used it again to get back to the airport too. I think it ended up costing about Y80,000 each way for 2 adults and a child, door to door and no dramas with the luggage. So thanks again for such an informative video showing us all the options!
Pasmo card guys/girls. Handy using transport system.
Whats that?! 👀
Thank you for this video! Maybe i can finally someday travel to japan without so much of stress and anxiety woo
Thank you so much for these info !! I haven't been to Japan since 2010 and it was hell back then !! This is so impressive
Kim you are amazingly informal , lofi chill vibes, great spirts. God Bless you!!❤️🙏🏽✨
Hi welcome to Tokyo Japan !🌸
This video is very valuable for next comer!
My recommend is Kamakura city 1 hour far from Tokyo station. Kamakura city is by beach facing Pacific Ocean and many old temples and shrines and also big statue of Buddha! ⛩
First of all, THE HAIR 😍
Secondly, I love your Japan related videos.
mikah ong you from ?
Really informative and much needed for my next trip to Japan. Sankyuu!
Thank goodness for all the tips! I’m heading to Japan in September for the first time and I’m stressing a lot but your tips are amazing
10:34 I think I saw this exact footage on "Abroad in Japan"

After the virus me and my family are planing to go to Japan so thank you!

1:11 hey where did you get that footage of me
Can we use the luggage service if we are not staying in the listed hotel?
Thanks, good vid btw

Cool thing about having a phone that can have 2 sim cards! XD
Very informative! Thank you!! I love your hair, btw!
Thanks for sharing your experience in Tokyo Airport, nice hotel room's.
Question: if you’re staying at an Airbnb would the luggage service send your stuff there? Thanks
no
I’m going to Tokyo in September!! And I’m coming from Australia too uwu
This video is so useful, thanks Kim!
I think one of the most stressful part of travel was navigating with luggage so this really helps. Especially when traveling during busy times!
Also! Learn basic Japanese (and Japanese etiquette) before going into another country (locals will appreciate it and will be amazed), pocket mifis are faster than sim cards, have a good powerbank, use Google Translate, wear proper shoes (your feet will get SORE), and use Google Maps to get around (and know train station times)! I went to Japan for the first time last year and Google Maps & Google Translate were my life saver 😂
Currently binge watching Japan travel videos just because I miss it so much and we can't travel because of covid 😢
0:57 Made me laugh so hard cause that's how I was when I landed in Osaka 😂
First time I've seen one of your videos, very impressed with the production. You have a new subscriber.
What a beautiful informative video, Thank you for sharing!
I would like to know if I can send my luggages from the hotel to the airport?
where did you get your backpack? i'm looking for a backpack like this size for my next japan trip
I've seen a bag similar on Yesstyle. Maybe check on there 👍
If you’re talking about the black one. They’re all over Japan the brand is anello
wow! what a nice video with fantastic shooting. Kim is so charming and the information provided is very useful. thank you for your VDO
That was really awesome explaining, special in airport station, thank you a lot.

Can you use credit card basically everywhere in Japan or you have to bring cash with you all the time?
Haven't been there yet planning a trip but I've universally read and heard that japan is mainly CASH only. I have also heard that 7/11s there have international-friendly ATMs. I hear it is common to carry like $500 on you in yen.
Heidi Wang most places use cash so
If I were u I would’ve bring cash everytime (and your card)
These kind of service is just made my day.
When I was an exchange student I didn’t want to deal with my luggage as well but I use different service called CA-GO because it’s much cheaper lol.
