Your review of Ultimate Spider-Man was 100% SPOT ON! I loved this book for all the reasons you stated. The conversations, the relationships, how the characters were introduced, the art, everything was fantastic. M.J looks stunning in this story, and I loved her conversations with Peter. Happy they are in love with kids. Best comic I have read in a long time, cannot wait for the next issue. Happy I worked my way through Ultimate Invasion and Ultimate Universe, this book made it worth it.

Sad that the best Spidey book isn't even his flagship title. Why didn't they put Hickman on ASM? ASM needs to be good. Marvel should be putting their best people on it.

Unfortunately, editorial will tell us this Spider-Man status quo only works in an alternate universe while they continue to regurgitate the same stories from 40 years ago in the 616.
You know what if that's the case then that's on them I will just enjoy this particular book as long as there is a good Spider-Man book out there I will read it

I had absolutely no clue what was happening while reading Rise of X. I have no idea how that book passed the editors. Compare that to Ultimate Spider-Man that was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time AND EASILY UNDERSTANDABLE lol
Yeah the "Happy Birthday" moment in Wolverine was shocking. Did not know Marvel had it in them.

I agree, really strong first issue of Ultimate Spider-Man. And I was on the fence about getting it since I'm not a huge fan of Hickman. I kept expecting to see white pages with paragraphs talking about stuff I don't care about. But it's an interesting spin on Spider-Man, and it's so great to see Pete and MJ together and happy. And the art, top notch work from Checcetto as always. Got me absolutely looking forward to issue 2

I love this ultimate Spider-Man it gave me everything i ever wanted and plus finally giving us the one true peter parker who's actually a adult and shocker and seeing Peter parker and Mary jane being married and they have there daughter mayday parker the future spider-girl and her brother Richard parker all being family is really awesome and badass in my opinion. :)

Could not agree more about Ultimate Spider-Man #1. I read it last night before I went to bed and I was totally engrossed by it. I was so jazzed by the end of it and how amazing of a story it told that I had a hard time falling asleep. Just incredible storytelling with characters that felt real.

OMG that would be insane if that happens. My Dolphins might freeze to death this Saturday LOL I hope the can pull out a win against the Chiefs.

Best Amazing Spider-Man book, you ever read? Glad you liked it. I found it to be a serviceable reimagining of the Spider-Man story. I think we, as Spider-Man consumers/fans, are starved for a story that doesn't disrespect the web-head. Does this story do that? Absolutely. The best? No.
Sounds like a basic Kieran Guillen book. Never fails to disappoint in my opinion
The moment you said that Ben was as live I knew that Aunt May was dead. A comic trope that we seen in past specially in What if? Issues. I can’t wait to read it though. Even though it is really an Ultimate universe. A fancy way of saying a What if? Universe.

Glad you liked it! The only thing I thought people might not like was the whole Tony being how he becomes Spider-Man. I loved how every character has a twist that’s different than we’re used to, can’t wait to see what all happens with this series. Really hope this creative team stays for a long time if it’s good
Yeah I absolutely agree I truly think this is the only way this book continues to have success is if you keep that creative team I feel like he has a plan in place on what he wants to do with this Spider-Man series.

It was a great issue, but I'm not a fan of Peter Parker being destined to be Spider-Man. Takes away from it being something that could've happened to anyone. Will see how issue 2 goes

At least I wasn't the only one confused by Rise of the Powers of X. Reminded me of that meme with a bunch of stuff on a board and lines connecting them. They need to make X-Men more reader friendly not requiring a chart to understand what couldn't fit in the panels.

The X men books are going back to the 90s with tons of characters and tons of different story lines. Which took me out and im dropping them all.

The Xmen: the group i like but never buy any of their comics.
I tried a couple times....feel like i needed to read hundreds of back issues to understand anything.
The last try was a few years ago, the flagship series, i got the 1st ten issues. No idea wtf was going on.
Looking forward to Action Comics....I've become a Superman fan....my pull has Superman, Superman Lost, Action Comics, and World's Finest. I think the Year One of Superman that came out a couple years ago started me on a Superman path.
Hearing good things about Ultimate Spider-Man
I know it's gonna be different, but they kept the "ultimate" name. I hated the 1st ultimate universe so much that I'm hesitant.
There should be at least 2 NEW stories for Giant-size issues not 1 new and 1 reprint that just seems like a gimmick.

I was going to pick up Ultimate Spidey but I'm starting to get sick of Hickman. So much, talking and talking and talking and no action. And although I've heard a lot of good things about it, sounds like it's more talking and talking. I'll pass.
All opinions and we won't always agree, so it's all good, but man, I LOVED Rise of the Powers of X!
Here's the thing, it is a lot of gobbledygook if you haven't been reading all the X books. A big thing happened in the latest Immortal X-Men issue that lead into this. Problem is THAT comic has gobbledygook as well. You really have to have been invested in X-Men ever since House and Powers of X and kept up with all the big stuff that happened. But a lot of people lost interest because of all the padding and pointless X books Marvel pumped out during the Krakoa era.
Anyhow, this book is FINALLY giving payoff to the fans that stuck with it. But it is absolutely not new reader friendly, so even though it has a big #1 on the cover, it is not a starting point at all. But after this book ends (and the companion book that came last week), X-Men will presumably start a new era that should be new reader friendly and hopefully being back a lot of old X-Men fans.
Overall, I loved Hickman's House and Powers books but didn't like the status quo and X books for the most part afterwards. There were some gems but I hated the whole mutant island segregation stuff. But I am super excited for these books, seeing where it goes, and yes, having Krakoa fall. LOL
