This minecraft soundtrack holds so many memories its fucking unreal. I remember this playing in my minecraft world as I walked around it, breaking blocks, and spawning ocelots everywhere. It was specifically a christmas themed world too. There was nobody there but just me and the ocelots, and everything was comforting but so so lonely. This soundtrack perfectly captures this memory. I dont know how to explain why it sounds like this but it really does. It feels like looking upon an endless landscape of snow and trees and thinking "Wow, its really just me here." Or looking at an empty town decorated with lights, presents, fireplaces, and you can do whatever you want.
Haha yeah thats why i mainly play on my friends realms. But, they only end up playing for like a month, then completely abandon it. All while i build an entire civilization by myself.

This song always reminds me of 2017, boot up the good old xbox one and hop onto minecraft xbox one editon to play some survival or the pre made worlds. This is the best nostalgia you could ever get. The old textures, the old songs while you played, the fun you had, the creativity you had, the imagination you had, the everything you had. It is truly amazing and im glad that I got to play back then, even now I go to see all of my old worlds, I either tear up or get severe nostalgia im just so glad I got to enjoy these moments. Even though I played by myself I still loved it. The best part about the old minecraft games were those minigames, I can remember all 3 of them. Spleef, PVP and an elytra one. Those were the best moments when your friends or family came over and you played those games forever. In the lobby there were secret things or places but you couldn't get there and the dedication you had , truly the best childhood you could ever get. We were explorers who entered the worlds of minecraft like astronauts who went into outer space for the first time and rushed to distant planets. We are pioneers, and what we saw, a person who was late will never be able to see, because people who came later only walked along the paths we trampled, walked through the world knowing what ores there are in it, knowing that terrifying monsters are not waiting for them in caves, knowing how to build a portal to the nether world, knowing what treasures in this world can they find we rushed into the vast darkness, towards adventures, defied our fears, we not only tried to look into every corner of this fog-shrouded world, minecraft allowed us not just to explore, it allowed us to colonize, it was us, defying all the darkness that lurked in the vastness of the world, we have left something from ourselves in those worlds, we have left memories and emotions, and the thing we needed were only low-resolution blocks... And even if each player had a unique generated world, they are all united by the fact that they are researchers, and only they will see something in these screenshots that those who only walked along the route of our spaceships will never see.

Every time I see this song I end up getting emotional, I remember going to my grandma's house and seeing my cousin playing this square game called "minecraft" on his laptop, I asked him what this game was, and he told me it was a really cool exploration and survival game, and at the time he was playing with his neighbor, and after that I stayed at my grandmother's house for a while and left. A few days later I went to my cousin's house to play with him, and I saw him playing that square game again, I was very curious to know if the game was really good, and I asked my father at the time to buy it, but he didn't want to spend money buying this game, my cousin's father and my cousin convinced him to buy minecraft, and after that there were just incredible memories that I had playing with my cousin and his neighbor that I talk to until today. This great minecraft journey began in 2013, when I was only 6 years old and this year I turned 15, I will never forget this wonderful game I had fun with.
I feel ya man.. the years just seem to fly on by.. feels like only yesterday i was playing minecraft everyday on my ps3, back when the graphics and mechanics were so much more simpler, cutting down my first tree, surviving my first night, my first time finding a mineshaft completely on accident.. i still remember my first ever world that is now long gone. The beginning has already made me feeling sad and honestly I’m glad. Minecraft literally built my childhood. All the way since 2011 I’ve played. Started on the 360, then the Xbox 1 edition until the last update of the End. I still have my memories of all my friends building and crafting without knowing it was the best time of my life. Recently I replayed Minecraft Xbox one edition and I have a wave of nostalgia. The OG C418 music alone was enough to make me have tears running down my face. Man if only I could go back to the way it was. Stormy days while playing Minecraft all day.
To the people that didn’t had Minecraft as a whole childhood experience and to the future generations, once upon a time was a great game. A game that even the soundtrack can make you cry in a minute. this is amazing. the harp in the background is intensified here and i fucking love that. it feels like distant memories that are long gone yet you still hold them dear to you. the piano part near the end, especially now when slowed, feels tragic and sad, it hits so hard

You don't know how to describe it, because you feel the lack of oxygen, the difficulty in breathing, don't you? I think the true beauty of C418's work is deeply embedded in the fact that they *aren't* masterpieces. They're not the most technically skilled pieces, they're not perfect if you could even call a song perfect somehow, and yet despite this they invoke such unfathomably strong and powerful feelings in the listener's psyche because of how ingrained they are in our past. When you listen to this work you feel something not just because of the notes, but because of their relation to you as a person. Sure they are peaceful and a little somber on their own, but this overpowering peace and nostalgia is something that goes beyond the work itself. C418's work is iconic, it's impacted this generation and likely future generations in a way almost no other piece of music has. I would not recognize C418 in person, but I recognize his work from a mile away. How lucky would we be as other creators as I'm sure many of you reading this are to have our work so renowned and yet ultimately still remain faceless ourselves?

Well said, everyone. I completely agree, C418 was in fact not musically trained when he made this song, and his career as a musician for minecraft was pretty much his main introduction to professional music-making. Still, this track and many others (like for example, Alpha) contain such a powerful level of nostalgia that they will always be in my mind. He has, in a way, allowed me to take a piece of my childhood and manifest it into something eternal--this piece. Thus, I will never forget how my past with this game was. I would not call him a genius, but rather a keeper of time. His work will never be forgotten, and the fact that I can always remember parts of my childhood while listening to this song is incredible. I doubt I will ever find a game composer that can do this again, and that's what makes him special to me.
This is bitufull. Truly something has taken the nostalgia right out of your brain and transformed that nostalgia into threads, sowing that thread into the fabrics of music. The threads spelling out bitufull poetry of nostalgia and that warm feeling. Then using that poetry as sheet music to play this masterpiece.

This song reminds brings me back to when I finally convinced my dad to stay up and play Minecraft with me. When my sister fell asleep we would go into the basement start Minecraft up on the Xbox and check out the different mash-up worlds. I remember the rollercoaster of the Christmas map so well. I remember seeing items on the Xbox version I didn't see on my iPad. Mutton, horses, saddles. I was just in shock about all these cool new stuff. I will never forget these moments.
I would hear this all the time while loading up the old legacy Minecraft on the Xbox One when I was a kid. I didn't think much about it at the time but it truly holds a lot of nostalgia. I still distinctly remember the very first time I stayed up all night. It was with my best friend back in 6th grade. It was so much fun. He lives in a house basically in the middle of nowhere so no matter what time it is it's always silent outside. Me and him were playing minecraft xbox one edition at like 4 in the morning. For some reason his family always kept all of the lights on in the house at night. I remember laughing so hard I nearly threw up. I still can't believe we've been friends since kindergarten.
The day I got minecraft, I was so excited. It was 2014, I saw a BUNCH of people playing it and decided to buy a copy of it for my Xbox One. It was the best decision of my life. I remember hearing this music for the first time when I loaded up minecraft. I played for around 4 hours and slept listening to the soundtrack. For me, the best times on minecraft I will forever remember about were between 2014 and 2021. Thank you, minecraft. You made new friendships, you introduced me to new things. This Minecraft sound brings back so many memories to me, I used to play all the time with my brother, Playing all the cool game modes and cool texture packs like the Christmas pack and the Halloween pack, I miss those times. Where I didn’t have to worry about school, Didnt have to worry about friends and popularity, Not worrying about anything. I would sit and play minecraft for so long, hours and hours on end, Making houses out of blocks of diamonds, emeralds, gold, lapis, Redstone, iron, I remember feeling so cool after designing the insides of those houses. Picture frames of diamonds and other items. I want to go back to those times, But I remind myself to keep on going, Life will never get easier if you push all of your problems away. I just miss it. So so much.

This minecraft soundtrack holds so many memories its fucking unreal. I remember this playing in my minecraft world as I walked around it, breaking blocks, and spawning ocelots everywhere. It was specifically a christmas themed world too. There was nobody there but just me and the ocelots, and everything was comforting but so so lonely. This soundtrack perfectly captures this memory. I dont know how to explain why it sounds like this but it really does. It feels like looking upon an endless landscape of snow and trees and thinking "Wow, its really just me here." Or looking at an empty town decorated with lights, presents, fireplaces, and you can do whatever you want.

This song always reminds me of 2017, boot up the good old xbox one and hop onto minecraft xbox one editon to play some survival or the pre made worlds. This is the best nostalgia you could ever get. The old textures, the old songs while you played, the fun you had, the creativity you had, the imagination you had, the everything you had. It is truly amazing and im glad that I got to play back then, even now I go to see all of my old worlds, I either tear up or get severe nostalgia im just so glad I got to enjoy these moments. Even though I played by myself I still loved it. The best part about the old minecraft games were those minigames, I can remember all 3 of them. Spleef, PVP and an elytra one. Those were the best moments when your friends or family came over and you played those games forever. In the lobby there were secret things or places but you couldn't get there and the dedication you had , truly the best childhood you could ever get. Now were here, 7 years later sitting and hearing this music. The shivers you get down your spine, the tears that start to slowly fall out of your eye and the memories all come back, all you could say is "Wow, I really had the best childhood." Every time I see this song I end up getting emotional, I remember going to my grandma's house and seeing my cousin playing this square game called "minecraft" on his laptop, I asked him what this game was, and he told me it was a really cool exploration and survival game, and at the time he was playing with his neighbor, and after that I stayed at my grandmother's house for a while and left. A few days later I went to my cousin's house to play with him, and I saw him playing that square game again, I was very curious to know if the game was really good, and I asked my father at the time to buy it, but he didn't want to spend money buying this game, my cousin's father and my cousin convinced him to buy minecraft, and after that there were just incredible memories that I had playing with my cousin and his neighbor that I talk to until today. This great minecraft journey began in 2013, when I was only 6 years old and this year I turned 15, I will never forget this wonderful game I had fun with.
I feel ya man.. the years just seem to fly on by.. feels like only yesterday i was playing minecraft everyday on my ps3, back when the graphics and mechanics were so much more simpler, cutting down my first tree, surviving my first night, my first time finding a mineshaft completely on accident.. i still remember my first ever world that is now long gone. My journey also began in 2013, when i was just 9. Now i'm 18 and man i wish i could experience that time all over again.. the years sure do go by fast, so take care lad.

Minecraft literally built my childhood. All the way since 2011 I’ve played. Started on the 360, then the Xbox 1 edition until the last update of the End.
I still have my memories of all my friends building and crafting without knowing it was the best time of my life. Recently I replayed Minecraft Xbox one edition and I have a wave of nostalgia. The OG C418 music alone was enough to make me have tears running down my face.

this is amazing. the harp in the background is intensified here and i fucking love that. it feels like distant memories that are long gone yet you still hold them dear to you. the piano part near the end, especially now when slowed, feels tragic and sad, it hits so hard

You don't know how to describe it, because you feel the lack of oxygen, the difficulty in breathing, don't you? It's those images that go through your mind, that you'll never forget, that is left over from one of the best fragments of your life. I think the true beauty of C418's work is deeply embedded in the fact that they *aren't* masterpieces. They're not the most technically skilled pieces, they're not perfect if you could even call a song perfect somehow, and yet despite this they invoke such unfathomably strong and powerful feelings in the listener's psyche because of how ingrained they are in our past. When you listen to this work you feel something not just because of the notes, but because of their relation to you as a person. Sure they are peaceful and a little somber on their own, but this overpowering peace and nostalgia is something that goes beyond the work itself. C418's work is iconic, it's impacted this generation and likely future generations in a way almost no other piece of music has. I would not recognize C418 in person, but I recognize his work from a mile away. How lucky would we be as other creators as I'm sure many of you reading this are to have our work so renowned and yet ultimately still remain faceless ourselves?

Well said, everyone. I completely agree, C418 was in fact not musically trained when he made this song, and his career as a musician for minecraft was pretty much his main introduction to professional music-making. Still, this track and many others (like for example, Alpha) contain such a powerful level of nostalgia that they will always be in my mind. He has, in a way, allowed me to take a piece of my childhood and manifest it into something eternal--this piece. Thus, I will never forget how my past with this game was.
I would not call him a genius, but rather a keeper of time. His work will never be forgotten, and the fact that I can always remember parts of my childhood while listening to this song is incredible. I doubt I will ever find a game composer that can do this again, and that's what makes him special to me.
This is bitufull. Truly something has taken the nostalgia right out of your brain and transformed that nostalgia into threads, sowing that thread into the fabrics of music. The threads spelling out bitufull poetry of nostalgia and that warm feeling. Then using that poetry as sheet music to play this masterpiece.
I remember when my dad bought me pocket edition and i created my first world, i made a sand box and started to spawn zombies, i was happy, really happy, it's that situation, when emotion cant be the same again...

This song reminds brings me back to when I finally convinced my dad to stay up and play Minecraft with me. When my sister fell asleep we would go into the basement start Minecraft up on the Xbox and check out the different mash-up worlds. I remember the rollercoaster of the Christmas map so well. I remember seeing items on the Xbox version I didn't see on my iPad. Mutton, horses, saddles. I was just in shock about all these cool new stuff. I will never forget these moments.

I would hear this all the time while loading up the old legacy Minecraft on the Xbox One when I was a kid. I didn't think much about it at the time but it truly holds a lot of nostalgia. I still distinctly remember the very first time I stayed up all night. It was with my best friend back in 6th grade. It was so much fun. He lives in a house basically in the middle of nowhere so no matter what time it is it's always silent outside. Me and him were playing minecraft xbox one edition at like 4 in the morning. For some reason his family always kept all of the lights on in the house at night. I remember laughing so hard I nearly threw up. I still can't believe we've been friends since kindergarten.

The day I got minecraft, I was so excited. It was 2014, I saw a BUNCH of people playing it and decided to buy a copy of it for my Xbox One. It was the best decision of my life. I remember hearing this music for the first time when I loaded up minecraft. I played for around 4 hours and slept listening to the soundtrack.
For me, the best times on minecraft I will forever remember about were between 2014 and 2021. Thank you, minecraft. You made new friendships, you introduced me to new things. You even helped me in maths! Thanks a lot for everything. I'll never forget the old minecraft.

This Minecraft sound brings back so many memories to me, I used to play all the time with my brother, Playing all the cool game modes and cool texture packs like the Christmas pack and the Halloween pack, I miss those times.
Where I didn’t have to worry about school, Didnt have to worry about friends and popularity, Not worrying about anything.
I would sit and play minecraft for so long, hours and hours on end, Making houses out of blocks of diamonds, emeralds, gold, lapis, Redstone, iron, I remember feeling so cool after designing the insides of those houses. Picture frames of diamonds and other items.
I want to go back to those times, But I remind myself to keep on going, Life will never get easier if you push all of your problems away.
I just miss it.
