i was born in 2001 and genuinely feel like up to 2005 we were the last ones born into a regular time period. i got my first phone at 13 and had just barely discovered youtube. i can remember being outside playing 90% of the time. i can’t imagine being born and having a camera shoved in ur face for a vlog or scrolling the internet at 5 years old. i don’t even like using my phone in public when i’m in line somewhere i like to observe people and my environment and i get looked at like i’m a weirdo cuz my face isn’t buried into my screen. we are going to see the effects of this very soon and it’s definitely not gonna be good. i’m terrified.
Facts. I didn't know what the point of wifi was until I got my first phone at 12, now kids are using phones at 1 💀

Same I was born in 2000, Literally kids nowadays aren’t even kids, on their phones tablets on these social apps it’s disgusting and sad, for me I got my first phone at 10 the blackberry just for emergency calls while my dad got the new iPhone 3GS lol I sound so old rn😭 but after couple years having that and being old enough he gave me the iPhone and he got the 5 I think, I only used it for music and CZcams, before that I would play with WWE action figures hot wheels also my psp that I still have today. Now some parents won’t let their kids be kids. Even more sad when you see it with family, every party the kids buried on they phone on tik tok or whatever and me and my oldest cousin be like remember the good ol days of playing and running around being annoying? :(

Yeah I’m always on my phone, like whenever I have a second of free time when I’m by myself I’m like I’ll watch CZcams or play a game or check up on how bad Cordarrale Patterson was last night in fantasy football. It’s obviously unhealthy and I think to myself, if I am on my phone for less time that’s a good accomplishment and I feel good about myself so I go and eat something unhealthy and after I work out I feel good about myself and I go on my phone and sit down or go play on my Xbox. It’s just a never ending matrix like cycle that I hope we can escape but at this point I’m not sure if it’s possible.

I just went through basic training for the Army and we got our phones for 30mins every Sunday for 10 weeks. After, I’ve come to realize how much better I’ve gotten at socializing, how much productive I became, and how I realized that I genuinely don’t have a real “need” for my phone all day. Now, I barely check my phone, I’m usually doing outside activities and one big thing. My mind set has become extremely positive and open to things as well. I feel very happy nowadays and I’m glad I got that experience.
I feel like I’m the only normal kid my age. I like to think I was raised right, my parents didn’t give me internet access for a while but also didn’t shelter me. Nobody talks to each other in my generation. It’s really depressing.
i was on my phone a lot in 2019 because I was kinda depressed and it made me even worse, now I barely touch my phone anymore. Im from 2001 but everytime I go to parties or meetings with people my age I just see people, especially girls, grabbing their phones and going on snapchat or something. It feels like they dont wanna be here or that they cant put their phone down. Even mid conversation people grab their phone sometimes. Either way its terrible. I literally forget about my phone when I am with the boys. Its deeply saddening that its gone this far.

I’m a 25 year old female with no social media I hate TikTok, I hate Instagram, I hate Twitter I hate social media in general because it had turned me into a person I wasn’t I felt like I had to keep up with other people and I was pushed to buy things I didn’t want/ couldn’t afford on Instagram. I deleted it about a year ago and I’m happier I only have CZcams and not on it all day I’m trying to interact with the real world more and connect with my family and friends. Wow ,this is by far one of the top videos Strawberry Park and LLS ever put out in their entire youtube carrier as it educates the viewers on the destruction social media and cellphone addiction has caused our society. I wrote some pieces on cellphone addiction as it pertains to real life communication. These papers referenced some of the alarming topics Rhino and Noah discussed. One thing I like to emphasis is self identify as a whole. People have become so generalized in their language and use verbiage such as "LOL " in their messaging. Soon cellphone language would be universal language and identity of society and real in person laughter will be an anomaly.
Honestly, I got rid of my personal instagram and no lie I have felt so much better about myself and also have been able to be more efficient and got more stuff done that I have been putting off. Even when I am hanging out w my family, I notice how everyone is on their phone. It is sad bc these are people I care about and want to be connected with but the distraction of social media can really take that away from us. And for what? Loved the vid you guys!

Bro you’re actually right.I was at the lunch table with my friends and I see them on their phone, scrolling on TikTok with their AirPods in. Instead of us talking to one another and socializing they are consumed by their devices and it pains me to see it.
The most sad truth is when seeing kids in elementary have phones. I saw a kid that looked 4 and had a phone. Like there are so many parents that when their kid cries for your phone or iPad the instant thing to do is give them what they WANT. But that's not going to help them learn or have no discipline. Parents need to give their kids what they NEED. Give them your attention, time, energy, talk to them, go outside! There is so much we can all do instead of scrolling for hours and hours. Notice what it bothering yourself!

I couldn’t agree more and I do see how social skills in teens nowadays have changed especially in my school because everyone’s too brainwashed to participate in school even if it’s a simple yes or no question, I also could say that when I was younger seeing my oldest sister grow up as a teen in the early 2000s has definitely declined in todays teens which would be my generation unfortunately 😢.
Not wanting to participate in school is not a social media brainwashing thing, it’s a bad school thing. I graduated high school last year and now I’m in University. I can say with confidence that I learned absolutely nothing in school. Me not participating is because teachers would pick on us students who didn’t know the answers, which would give us anxiety to even try in class. Also, school has become so pointless. We don’t learn anything useful, but it’s necessary to go get a higher education to get a job. I hate the program I’m in, but I need this so I can get a good job. Don’t blame this on social media, blame this on the school system.

Also I don’t think what I wanted to say was full executed in the right way but basically to me participation doesn’t necessarily me your intelligent or not, it’s pretty much a simple try your best. By the way I’m currently a High School student learning about important things that can nowadays relate to topics today vs when you were apparently in High School, also I wouldn’t fully make the assumptions about High Schools systems today compared to a college system or university or whatever you’re in. Another thing… when I spoke of “brainwashed” I meant how people disconnect themselves on their phones in social situations that can be cause of anxiety but also it could be a psychological issue in todays teens in societal situations. I'm 17 myself. And people my age have no social skills. Most of the people I met would spend so much time on online and on social media. Not worrying about basic things. You end up learning your social skills from instagram and tik tok, which give you unrealistic standards of the real world.

Just saying hi! made a difference and boosted my social skills. I try to guide my younger friends to not do this phone shet but its not having effect on them but i will keep trying my best. I’m 14 and miss the days when I was younger. We could just ring the bell at a random friends house and ask if they wanted to play outside. Nowadays I stay inside every day because that’s what everyone is doing. If I would hit up a friend they always say something like: ‘oh I’m gaming / I’m busy / school work’

For all my life I haven’t had a phone because my parents didn’t like the idea of giving a teenager a phone and all the access to the internet. This became a big problem in terms of innocence and not spending time with family cause the media says it’s weird to love your parents. I’m 17 almost 18 and I haven’t used my phone for about 3 days and I found other things to entertain myself besides my phone. I love your guys’ videos and I hope this trio of guys will continue to release more wise content

Tbh, 80% of my phone usage is me watching CZcams, playing my game, and listen to music, and the other 20% is just texting my friends/family and look at my status for my Sprite channel. Do i consider myself a phone addict? Idk exactly, cause ik when to put my phone down and do other things that i wanna do or benefit me.

I agree. Everyone is famous nowadays so it's not as special anymore. I have a total of 4 million likes on my TikTok and even way more people watch my videos which is even crazier. I will never get used it. Like it gives me an existential crisis to think about how every minute of every day someone is watching my TikToks.
