- Which trees are dangerous to humans? There are over 3 trillion trees on our planet that clean our air, help prevent water pollution and soil erosion, and provide us with oxygen and shade on a hot day.
Some plants and trees, however, aren’t exactly that good since they’re super dangerous and can seriously hurt you or even kill. If you ever see any of them, don’t touch them and ask for help to remove them.
When the fruit of the sandbox tree matures, it becomes dark brown and explodes, shooting seeds a whopping 150 miles per hour in all directions. You can imagine what a serious injury that could cause if you get in the way of these organic bullets.
If a child or dog eats just one or two of cherry trees’ leaves, they’ll suffer from a horrible stomachache. And if they eat more than that, they’ll most likely end up with cyanide poisoning.
If children or dogs eat or chew on Buckeyes, they’ll most likely suffer from vomiting and diarrhea. Pets may have troubles breathing or start to stagger and shake. If you have an Ohio buckeye tree near your house, your best and safest bet is to pick up all the nuts and twigs and keep them out of your kids' and pets' reach.
You’re unlikely to swallow two hundred seeds or munch on twenty apple cores, which is the fatal dosage for people. But if pets and other animals eat too many apples, it can easily kill them.
Some of the cerbera odollam’s components are used to make deodorants and pesticides, but in its pure form, the cerbera odollam can be deadly.
Manchineel tree is covered in poisonous sap, and if it comes in contact with your skin, it can cause blindness. Do not burn manchineel wood even if you have nothing else at hand to start a fire. The smoke from this fire will definitely lead to eye inflammation and even temporary blindness.

-Highly toxic milky sap oozes out of the tree’s leaves, bark, and fruit. It contains all kinds of toxins, but the most lethal is phorbol. Even if you haven't swallowed the fruit but just bitten into it, its juice will lead to painful boils that will cover your throat and the insides of your mouth.

I trim trees for a living. One time I was cutting back a type of euphorbia that looked like a small kind of succulent. 1 drop of the milky white substance the plant succreats when cut went in my eye. It went from a slight burning to absolute fire within 5 minutes. I had to go to the er and flush my eye out for 30 min. It swelled up and hurt all day. I could have gone blind without flushing it. Always wear protective gear and know what your cutting.

I spent my early years living right next to a Sandbox tree in Miami. My grandmother's mailbox was mounted on it.
I was told the fruit explodes yet I never witnessed it to my disappointment. It occupied the center of my familie's property. It was the largest tree among several other interesting trees.
P.S. I'm still alive.
The fruit does explode but only when it dries out, if you're in a particularly wet environment such as perhaps you're part of Miami which it wasn't native to that might not manifest?

Cherry Trees are nice. My Grandparents had 2 in their front yard and we climbed them constantly and picked the cherries every year. It's first cousins you have to look out for. My Aunt took the land in an underhanded way and gave it to her children.

This is true. On a warm day I sat down under an apple tree. I was not aware how dangerous this could become. I ate one of the apples and dozed off under the tree. My wife got home and went off because I did not mow the lawn.
Yep. I'm here because yesterday came across a couple of the sandbox ones, and as we were chopping them ( bought a new house, they all over the backyard), we got sap on our skin and eyes. We did get to timber like 4 of them first. Really itchy rash and swollen and burning eyes. We still recovering.

She's a radiologist... they're about as "medical profession" as a janitor who works in a hospital. I mean no offense to radiologists, but it's the lowest of the the low.
Radiologist learn how read scans and X-Rays, not tell one fruit from the other.
Fashionista B That's weird, because last time I was in for a couple of chest X-rays & a CT scan the radiologist was explaining the difference between a peach and a nectarine while I lay there.
She said that if I was back for a follow up she'd explain how the plantain became the banana.
I just expected that all radiologists were fruit experts.
Ian MacFarlane... last time I checked, encyclopedia knowledge of fruits in general, both domestic and wild, were not a part of the classes you take to become a radiologist. Chances are, that one in particular studies fruits as a hobby.
