      troecurov3 I can speak from experience because I have owned both vehicles! I owned a 2012 automatic Ford Focus. I loved the drive and it's an fantastic car all around. However, personally ill say the leon is way better! To being with, Focus's are everywhere so they depreciate really quickly! The Leon is not only beautiful but has way more interior space and the car feels more refined over bumps! It feels a lot more up market and I've owned my 2014 dsg 1.2 leon for over 2 years and have had no problems. I'd highly recommend the Leon and you should do a bit more research to find out which engine will best suit you! Good luck

    I had a 2014 FR 2.0 TDi as a company car for about a year. Decent performance, good handling, good comfort and great level of equipment. I did just over 18000 miles of mixed motorway, A roads and B roads driving and averaged 55-56 mpg.

    That's truly incredible. 0-60 in 7.5 seconds with 65 mpg (or at least 55) and a normal one which gives 75 mpg! With all that equipment, sportiness and good ride and them looks I don't see why anyone would buy an Astra, Focus or Golf

  • @samez8280

    i recently bought the leon 1.2 dsg.The DSG auto change is amazing.I initally did not even want a leon.I rented a manual diesel for a weekend and was unimpressed with the engine noise and it had a hard handbrake.
    Turns out the handbrake on the rental was faulty and responsible for the hard feel.
    After test driving the A3,golf ,astra and i30 for some weird reason my wife said why not go next door and try the leon.
    I did .The petrol version was simply amazing and as i said the DSG was great.You also get good gear with the SE making the most sense.Also it comes with the free tech package .Haggle well and the DSG version will only set you back less then £1000 and well worth it.
    It drives like a golf and looks better.Also recent survey for 1 year old car(hard to tell its 3 year value as this generation is not there yet) has kept it % wise(residual value)in top 10 and rising beating now the golf and edging closer to the audi 3 now.
    Dunno what the comment about the boot is about seems same as the golf to me when i looked around and beats some other models too.
    Well worth it if you getting a new car.I paid £17400 but there was a lot of added insurance and non seat added on stuff .The price for the car was actually about £16500 which was a 1.2 dsg auto 5 door metallic paint SE with tech and convience pack.Try speccing that on a audi 3 or a golf and you pay easily £3-4k extra.

    Germany is its biggest market (after Spain) so don't be too surprised. The new Leon's aim is to help Seat increase sales units to 800,000 per year. In red and in FR trim, both 3 and 5 door are damn sexy versions of Audi A3. It has enough Spanish flair to keep it from being an A3 clone!

  • @notonyournelly5363
    @notonyournelly5363 Před 10 lety +1

    There's not a lot wrong with the Leon except the overdone "look at me, I have lots of sharp lines!" styling. The 1.2TSI is quite fast enough and it handles brilliantly. Currently comes with the tech pack (LED lights all round, satnav, DAB) for free. Don't pay anything like RRP though, because you can get an Audi A3 SE with the same engine (and quite enough kit) for under £17,000 through a broker.

    • @diveguy4291
      @diveguy4291 Před 10 lety +3

      Just bought the 2014 Leon FR, absolutely love it, as for the "look at me" sharp lines, they are the reason I wanted it in the first place, what is the point in spending money on something ugly??? It looks sleek and sexy rather than just a dull box with wheels like its competitors (especially the A3), the interior is smart and uncluttered and the dials are colourful sporty and modern, the technology in the car is modern and the touch screen sound system is amazing, a cool little feature is hidden interior lighting that changes from white to red when you put the car in sport mode, the car also sounds very sporty when you put your foot down. and It turns heads in car parks..
      I wouldn't swap it for a boring Audi A3 for love nor money. As for the price, lets face it, all cars are overpriced in the current economy.

    That is a general problem of all cars that belong to the VW group. They tend to use the same part, such as those switches etc, and it does take away some of the looks on cars such as Ibiza, Leon, and even in the audies. They do save costs that way, but the dullness repels the buyers.

The golf etc have 380 with a spare included though the small one. The older VAG ones had 340-350 (hatches) and the focus dropped to 316 with a spare. So? Relax my comments.
