They done dunkers so dirty this year, Shooters can shoot through just about anything this year but dont be damned using the meter if a small guy not paying attention is in the paint, its a real pain in the ass to get consistent big meters for slashers i stg they better buff the dunk meter heavily next year because bruh the meter should fluxuate like the layups cuz its easier to layup through heavy contact then it is to power through someone and dunk on them.
The dunk meter was abused by everyone the first year or 2 they tried to balance it but it just wasn’t done right this year
@@brettsalazar1886 thats the thing too, they made it wayy to easy for people with like an 86 or 88 driving dunk players to get contacts that they nerfed it wayy to much for people who actually put in the extra attributes for it and go to say 96 or 99 driving dunk that they forget that people with those attributes should be dunking like prime Jordan, Carter, Drexler, Lebron, people like that should he dunking over everyone and should put fear into defenders cheesing a zone on 5 v 5, they get it wrong or overpowered one year and then nerf into oblivion the next, Slashing Playmakers are almost irrelevant now and that is by far my favourite and most fun Archetype to play in 2K and has been for years, idk man im just sick of the Dunk meter and how it has been nerfed .and its not even worth using this year because of how inconsistent it is. I’ll say it again if people arent paying attention in the paint or a small guard is out of position they should be getting sliced through or absolutely demolished by Slashers. Let Slashers be good again cuz i want to strike fear and be a Giant Slayer out there on the court.

I’ll drive for a meter dunk (94 DD) with a defender trailing and get a driving layup animation. It makes no sense

Don’t think it’s worth it
Layup is cheaper and if you can get the finesse finishing down. There’s no need at all for dunk this year. Love it
99 nothing is worth It except stamina or free throw lol
No 99 is worth it but if you got money to spend you could just experiment with any type of build you want cuz the game gets boring

dunk meter should definitely open back up if u are wide open in the end of the dunk, because you right, when talking about top tier gameplay the good players would be able to find ways to get stops
I made a 99 dunk build, and i play 1v1 with it mostly. Its my second favorite build. If u are going to make it, just always have a jumper as well.

Nah fr tho, they should make the green window for dunks fluctuate if they are no longer in front of you or if they get in front of you, and 2k knows this because they do it with layups, like at 7:20
See how badgeplug jumped past the defender and the green window got bigger, 2k should do the same thing for dunks.

I agree with the fluctuation for dunks. Buttttt I feel like you can acrobat layup out of the small green window. If you can’t then yeah they def need to fix it. You should do 2k myth busting. First one should be “ can you acrobat out of a small dunk green window when it’s wide open” and yk what do to after that
Also a high flyer build is good for contact dunks
i have a 94 driving dunk and the meter be all over the place…i just stop using it and i get plenty of contact dunks pressing X or using the analog

tbh da dunk meter not bad. it’s not how it was last yr when you didn’t even have to green it. da only dunk you have to worry bout is the standing dunk. as a center with 92 standing dunk all my dunks go in regardless how many in the paint. i say there’s a skill gap with that

99 dunk is not worth it but it’s fun. My player jumped over someone for a meter dunk attempt small meter but it was still a crazy animation
It should fluctuate cause it make no sense to make a wide open dunk feel so hard unless there is actually someone defending it 😭

You should be rewarded for good defense not offense always wins, i think the meter were to start fluctuating 2k would have to make it depend on your attributes but also good defense

Honestly a 94 dunk is all u need to be a great 3 level scorer. You’ll need to use more angles against better defenders. But against bad defence ur basically a guaranteed bucket with meter dunks. I’ve even greened dunks with no green showing. 99 is just OD and will turn u into a 1 trick pony
