    ▷ The International Court of Justice ruling on South Africa's request to order a halt to Israel's Rafah offensive in Gaza has been criticised by Israel, which says it won't be deterred and that ‘no power on earth will stop Israel from protecting its citizens.’
    It comes as Gaza's health officials reported 60 Palestinians killed in a night of heavy shelling and airstrikes across the Strip.
    ▷ A landslide is believed to have killed possibly hundreds of people in the remote village of Kaokalam in the province of Enga, approximately 600 kilometres north-west of Port Moresby.
    ▷ Chinese military exercises surrounding Taiwan enter their second day with Beijing launching large-scale drills to 'punish' Taiwan and its new president Lai Ching-te - who has been a vocal advocate of Taiwanese independence.
