Thanks Dave. Hopefully it keeps going in the right direction before it gets to cold and I have to call it. Don't want to be stressing it out getting it out when it's to cold! Might end up having to rely on it healing itself over winter!

Cheers Mike, yeah he's definitely improved but I feel that I may have to just hope it sorts itself out over winter. Unfortunately I haven't got the option to heat at the moment and don't really want to keep getting him out with the colder temps.

Thanks for the shout matt👍 Shiro looks to be doing well, at least the gill isn't red. Just keep applying the gel now and then and keep on top of the water, that alone will give it the best chance of healing. Pity the temperatures aren't a bit better because that would have been even better.
You're welcome Si 👍 the temperature is what I'm worried about to be honest mate. I just don't think I'll be able to get it fully healed before the temperature really drops. I think I will have to call it before its fully healed! I think I may have to just hope for the best over winter rather than keep getting out and stressing it. My kohaku had something similar a couple of years ago on its head. I left it over winter and it did heal. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing for now I guess 👍
@koicentralofficial and that's all you can do really. Like I said, at least it doesn't look infected, and once the temps drop significantly, bacteria activity will be minimal anyway. Could be worth using some lacto health in the water to aid in recovery and keep nasties at bay👍
I've got it salted and I've also been dosing acriflavin but I'll take a look at Lacto health, not used it before. Do you think thats a better option?
@koicentralofficial I wouldn't say it's necessarily a better option, but I wouldn't be that keen on continuous doses of acriflavin personally. Salt will help at 0.3% to relieve the strain on the organs as its trying to heal, but I much prefer to keep the water healthy with things such as lacto health as it gives off enzymes to benefit the environment & fish, so the fish will be much less stressed anyway.

A other great update on the pond and fish when I used that treatment on one of my fish that had a ulcer it took I think from memory it took about 3 weeks for it to teal up mate it not a quick fix like some people think mate I am glad that your fish is on the mend now mate.

I'll be getting him out in the next couple of weeks hopefully when it warms up a bit. Still not fully recovered but is definitely improving. Obviously I haven't been able to treat over winter but his definitely over the worse of it 👍
