    No that is the American "Old Guard" they always wear and practice with those old uniforms and muskets. The reason they have red uniforms is because they are the fifers.

      Thank you for commenting this because I was intrigued about that part. But why are they wearing red coats instead of blue coats?

      @@fablehaven24 musicians back in those days wore the reverse colors of the rest of the soldiers. Continental Army soldiers wore blue coats with red facings, so American musicians would wear red coats with blue facings.

    It's interesting to note that this entire scenario is repeated every inauguration, right down to the music played by "Pershing's Own" and the Old Guard. Whether it was the Reagan's, Clinton's, Bush's or Obama's it was exactly the same - just as it will be on Inauguration Day 2017.

      ...and yet during the taping of Biden’s Pass in Review someone asked,
      “Why are they (‘Old Guard’ 3rd ID) are they flying the European Union flag?” Lol!!
      And
      “Why are the British “Redcoats” marching? Has Biden turned our country over to the Brits?”
      SMH!!!

      @@johnnyhorizon8368, honestly not trying to sound like an idiot but I was wondering the same thing about the flag. Could you shed some light?

      Jill Crowley No - u are sounding “like an idiot.” Many people are glad u are asking. It brings light to history (and truth - something that was in short supply in the recent past).
      European Union (EU) flag has dark royal blue background. The flag being carried by “The Old Guard” is light blue.

    I'm curious if the muskets are loaded or not...not that muskets would really do that much good since they were horribly inaccurate, and I know that there are other members of the military, not the mention the secret service and police.

    • @jackjackson7343
      @jackjackson7343 Před 5 lety +5

      They would absolutely not be loaded because, yeah. Terrible for fighting with. So much security around them as well as unnecessary chance for a loaded musket to go off that there's no reason to
