- This is a simple way to check if you glow-plug fuse is ok
After changing all of my glow plugs DIS / INPA started to how '08 Glow-plug or relay error"
The reasons
- relay box was dead, one pin was partially metlled into plastic
- F104 Fuse was dead

Excellent video and explanation. Thank you very much!
Thanks lad! Very helpful!!!
Thanks for the video !
Removing the fuse tray..
If it is tilted down at the correct angle, the pegs at the back lift easily out of thier slots. About 45 degrees does it.
Tnx!
Thanks mate
Thanks dude!!
Your welcome
nice vid! do you know where can I get english workshop manual for this model? (free download)
I used this links a lot:

and

hi, great job!!!
got the same problem, but i got 12V on relay(red wire) with ignition turned off and no key inserted, its normal?
I don't think so with key out there should be no voltage there.
You know what I will be pulling out vp44 in couple days due to fuel leak (posibly diy video will be created) - I can check that voltages for you but it will be somewhere next week5
@@pwilkutowski Did u checked it, i got the same error and sometimes the car on cold missfires and there is a white smoke till it gets a little bit warmed up, i also got voltage at 12v with the ignition off and on on the relay
Is it the same for the 320D with 150HP engine? I mean, does it have that white relay on the engine bay.
Well 150HP has the relay but that is different meaning its not a simple 'switch' rely, but PMW modulated one (if im correct as my memory is a bit blurry now). It should be in a black box located basically in the same place - but i cannot guarantee that.
obridado bom vídeo
Obrigado. E90 > aba e46 EGR seguinte. Já instalado no carro
Tnx :) is izi
what symptoms did you get other than hard start? check engine light?any thing else?
I was leaking diesel, nothing else was there. There is NO ECU warnings for this pump
So 136 hp version won't give you any indications on computer at least for pump.
When i put mine back in, it was set incorrectly (static angle was bad) the car did even start - even with that the ECU will NOT give any error code.
Where was it leaking diesel from? Was your car smoking?
It was one of seals on the pump it self so it was NOT related to any smoking and my car was NOT smoking.
Basically one of the valves -not sure which one exactly as I removed pump and the shop made a full overhaul of it.
- If your having a *smoke* problems first of all check ALL of your intake piping for any even smallest leaks
- Check you MAF
- If you suspect its the pump fault then the ONLY thing i could go for is wrong injection angle. If it Smokes black and works very rough then check the injection angle on pump.
Do this:
- Get DIS
- Run Fuel pump Injection advancing test
If i'm correct it will check if the pump is able to set advancement angle of -3 to +14 or so don't remember exactly
Also validate your 'lead' injector (the one that measures the injection angle) is ok.
The coil on it should have correct resistance
how can I reset my glow plug controle unit e46 330d
You need DIS or IMPA diagnostics to reset the error code. Thing is before you do that check the resistances on the plugs them self, if there is no resistance then the plug is shot / shorted and resting won't do anything
you say your car didn't stop too well, what do you mean by that?
+brunobliss
What i meant is that it didn't start to well - my English is still way of, but i'm working on it.
Another thing is that in BMW m47 (136 hp) the engine in fact doesn't stop to well. The reason is that 136 hp version doesn't have 'swirl' flaps that the 150 hp (common rail) has.
You can actually add a sort of shut of valve to cut of air intake when the ignition is switched of and then the engine stops its work wayyyyyy smother. Check how the E90 EGR valve looks like - the whole thing just bolts on to e46 m47.
You only need 3 wires to connect it
Did your car had a problem with starting when the coolant temperature is on the blue?? I have the same problem like you had and I opened the relay and clicked it manually and car started well.. so last thing i didnt check is that relay fuse, did you solve your problem with starting the engine?
In my case it was a dead glow.plug if I renember - tbh this is 5+ years old vid so hard to recall but I had dead 4th and 3th cyl.plug
@@pwilkutowski you mean glow plug relay or?
@@bmw625 I belive in my case it was the glow plugs that were simply shorted to ground
But I didn't have that much of an starting issue with it. Do one thing get DIS from the internet and check the Injection pump angle desired vs actual. Even with no plugs it should start fairly Ok. But the injection angle is a PITA and it can get you. So let me reverse the question are you sure you narrowed down the starting issue to the plugs or are you just starting the diagnose?
These cars *136hp ones had issues with injection advance mosfet going bad.
@@pwilkutowski yeah i know for the problem about mosfet, but i diagnosed that when I opened the case of relay and realized that when i press the anchor on the relay it starts well.
Help!#### van someone show me how to hook batter wires on a battet
There is relay not much to show... you just connect the positive terminal to positive battery pole and negative to negative pole, screw it down and that s it...
I can't get the fuse box out!
Its on an axis, just try to push it up a bit and then towards the passanger seat. It will go out, just a matter of wiggling it a bit
i have some fuses missing for DDE but car seems to run okish!? anyone know if you have to have the fuses on the card installed in???
You need to be more specific and watch grammar a bit more. I literally cannot understand what you mean and what fuses you have in mind.
Przemysław Wilkutowski I am talking about the passenger side fuse section. I opened it to check the fuses and when doing so I saw that majority of the fuses on the card of the DDE in particular (glow plug coil wire image) were missing! I can send you the images by email if you want. Is it normal to have some fuses missing?
Przemysław Wilkutowski it is ok that you don't know
Sure send over a jpeg, i can compare to mine EUR version when ill have some time. In my case I was lucky enough that i had a chart with the fuses plotted out - but as said it may be a bit different depending from trim level.
Now you may have some fuses missing - depends on the trim level you have but the ones like glow plug devices and so on should be there.
My friend has the exact same car so he sent me his fuse number chart but we are not entirely sure how it works if you could please help me out. Awaiting you. Thanks
