  • Sorry for the amateur nature of the video and the various mistakes. The device is pretty new and I wanted to let people know that the device can have the internal memory upgraded for anyone who was debating on purchasing one.
    Original tutorial is from this user:

    Thanks. It was funny & informative. I'll try to stick with the memory it has until my ebook library gets bigger. I'd rather keep the warranty for as long as possible.

      Definitely. Take advantage of the warranty in case there is any issues with early revisions of the ebook reader. I was just to antsy :)

    I used the above technique to add 64gb class 10 to my Kobo Glo HD. Thanks a ton for the video! (And to those who contributed). Easy to follow and to do. Try a guitar pick gently under the button area to start working your way around, to get the case off.

      Your welcome. I was away from home at the time and the razor was the closest thing to a guitar pick I had :P

    Many thanks , I couldn`t find anything specific on the new Kobo Aura 2nd edition. But apperently it works just the same

    The techie in me wants to do this, but realistically books are less than 2 megs each. 2000 books on the standard 4gb sd card is more than enough for most people.

    This is true I did the same for my Kobo Glo 2GB Internal Memory and copied the card to a 32 GB card did the partitioning as described and everything went as expected. Kobo however did not boot up with the 32GB card and I did not even any red or blue light unlike the above video. The kobo booted up fine with the 2GB original card. I am not sure if I meesed up the 32GB card prep but I tried it twice by formatting the 32 GB card a second did a repeat and rinse but did not work.

    I have a 64gb SDXC card that keeps reading error 1117 under the image restore. I am currently trying to reformat the card to try again

    USB Image Tool doesn't work for me. It's recognizes that the Kobo SD card is there but is unable to create a backup. Windows is also unable to access the files in the SD card.

      A razor is rather risky but most people will use a guitar pick. They come in different thickness sizes, so I don't know what would be Ideal for the Kobo :/

    Ok,it work well ? what micro sd card use? class 4 or class 10 ?

    • @MetalNinjaJesus
      @MetalNinjaJesus  Před 8 lety

      Class 10 would be better but unless you'll to read a lot of big PDFs or graphic novels, a Class 4 will do fine epubs and other normal ebook formats
