What you really need in a German van that doesn’t have an oven is “Herr Fryer”. We use a Ninja Dual Zone, it’s really a miniature fan oven and does a great job.

I had until very recently a 2015 Possl Roadcamp R, same van in essence. Have to say the refinements in the main seem well thought through. Though my gas locker was accessible from the rear doors and held two 11kg cylinders.... Have to say that the quality, fit and finish were superb, we veery much enjoyed the compact nature of the van and its manoeuvrability. We only swapped for more interior space suitable for longer touring! ...... I'd have another in a heartbeat though........ Great review Peter!

If you want a 5.4m van then this really is a cracking van. I like the storage idea above the cabin, best of both worlds. The table looks really good as well. Obviously there are things I don’t like, and it’s not a van I personally would buy, but I do like this van. But why no media system, surely this should be standard. But I suppose this allows you to fit exactly what you want. Great small van, great video as usual Peter. I agree with all of your comments.

Another top review on a very well designed compact van. Your little suggested improvements, sink, splash protection for bed for instance would be simple to implement. Makes you wonder why they are not there when the van “shouts out” that this design team knows what they are doing. The child bed was superb. However as mine is now 6ft 5in, not an option for me, but the Van ticks a lot of boxes. Thank you.
You could have the pop-top version for the extra berth instead?
Cracking van and well laid out for the size. As you say a splashguard required and a smaller tap for the bathroom sink would be more convenient. That washroom divider has to be the neatest available on any swingwall. Brilliant video as ever. Keep up the great work.

You make such great design suggestions Peter. Have you ever been asked to consult on the design of upcoming motorhomes? Can't be many people with more experience than you in this field.
Yes, I have been asked and have offered constructive criticism of prototypes, but often that input then gets overlooked (perhaps on cost grounds?)
No window in the wet room but one is now standard I believe for the 2024 model year.
I looked at the Globecar Summit Prime and I thought it was brilliant van, really brilliant. The only issue is that I couldn't get habitation A/C (which others e.g. Adria or even AutoSleeper do).

The cab bed takes me back nearly 50 years to when my youngest brother used to sleep on a LiLo across the front seats of our Bebford CA van conversion.
Do the pleated blinds offer an insulation & help to reduce condensation on the cab windows or are silver screens going to be needed in the colder months?
Cab blinds should help with condensation but in extreme whether you can get a full floor-length kit (silver screen style) to deal with the cold spots in the cab. For most UK use, I'd say the blinds are adequate.
Nice van, we have a globescout and when we were looking in 21 there was nothing to touch it in terms of quality for the price, would love to see a review of the consort brand, great review Peter

It's a great looking campervan in an in vogue colour. It has some terrific features like the power closing sliding door ( how annoying is the constant open & closing slam of a sliding door when parked on site?) but no radio, no reversing camera, no parking sensors and a whopping £71k+ price tag is very poor!
Compare it with its rivals and you'll see that it's not over-priced in today's market, I think.
Radio and reversing camera are not expensive to add and could be negotiated with the dealer.
@@MotorhomeCampervan They are all over priced, we the public are being fleeced. The bottom will soon fall out the market.

The 9-speed auto will be replaced by an 8-speed auto on the Series 10 Ducato (and Peugeot Boxer), due out later this year

I would like to know if you could buy the front bed cushions if you don't have a Globecar? I have a new shape cab on my 2022 Swift Select. I think that 3rd bed is better than what Swift provide...Maybe an aftermarket company might sell them..
I don't think Globecar would sell them. Have you looked at Cabbunk as an option?
Hello Peter, have you noticed that every rhd Ducato has an ill fitting glovebox? I asked this on the Stellantis stand at CS. It is because it’s not the same as the one on lhd models. Numbers don’t warrant the cost of tooling apparently!
Oh dear. Just think how many RHD vans they've made since 2007...
Generally, though, I think the whole Fiat/Peugeot/Citroën cab is way behind its rivals now.
Looks well screwed together Peter, suspect the rattle on the drive was the fly screen which ours does too. The best thing about the new Fiat dash is the digital speedo IMO. Cheers K.

Great review but is it me all makers now seem to only include the basics just to keep the headline sticker price low . However to get a decent spec you can add at least 25% to that price.
It's far worse on the German market where standard spec is often much lower. At least the UK importers add plenty of extra kit to suit our market. Surely, all that really matters, though, is the total price for the spec you want? Not everyone wants solar panels, awnings, etc.
@@MotorhomeCampervan Each to their own I think but IMHO in 2023 that a radio and reversing cameras being extra is a bit mean. But you pay your money and make your choice.

I doubt that it has European Whole Vehicle Type Approval and it certainly won't have the residual value of a well-known mainstream brand

The child bed is ok but aren’t they going to hurt there back on the steering wheel. I wish my van had a swing wall in the wet room, that’s the only thing I dislike about mine. The overall layout is good.
As a kid I slept in a cab bed a bit like this (in a 1976 Commer Auto-Sleeper) - the steering wheel never worried me

what does he mean about the 9 speed auto being "not long for this world"?
Discontinued I assume...I chose the manual as my mate works at Fiat and reckons the auto box is ok, much better and reliable than the comformatic. However he advised to stick with the manual gear box. Easier to service etc...
Rumours are that a different auto is coming later in 2024
No radio? For better than £70k, that's very poor.
Or, it gives you the option to choose what you want, from a cheap system to all-singing double-DIN with sat-nav, Apple CarPlay, reversing camera scree, etc.
Gives you a chance to haggle, too!
Enjoy your reviews but they would be far better if you included more on the real life purchase cost plus availability and cost of options.

Real life purchase cost? Depends on whether you have a trade-in, which dealer you go to, etc, but generally discounts have been almost non-existent recently.
Options costs are always highlighted but on some models it's just not possible to go through every possibility, it would just take too long.
We do try to give as much info as possible in the time available.
@@MotorhomeCampervan Thanks for the reply and I appreciate that the scope of options is large. However, for the benefit of new buyers it would be well worth pointing out some options/costs they wouldn't expect that nearly all manufacturers omit even on motorhomes costing over £70,000: mirror protectors, spare wheel, adequate solar, towbars, front mudflaps, satnav that takes veh dimensions into account, second leisure battery, adequate cooling for fridge/freezer in hot weather, rubber mat for front of cab and internet access.
Good review of a nice van BUT no Apple CarPlay!!!
Just add a head unit with CarPlay, surely that's no big deal?

Are they wheel trims , look like alloys to me. Ok just watched some more and he corrects himself and says they are alloys 🙄
Wheel trims (not shown) are standard, the alloys (seen in the video) are an option. Sorry if that was confusing
