      Thank you Sue!! I am glad I went to capture this activity. Sadly it did not lend itself to a live show due to the long periods of downtime.

    Wow! That C5 Galaxy was fantastic! I still love and really miss the sound of the C5A engines and the way they screamed! They used to fly right over my condo on their way to Dobbins AFB in Marietta, Georgia. Those planes were real icons!

      Thank you Heather.. Yes, I was super lucky to be able to experience the C5 Galaxy at Abbotsford last month. You’re also very very lucky to live so close to a US airbase with awesome airplanes. Thank you very much for commenting and all your support. I really appreciate it.

      Thank you, Garry. It was an awesome day that afternoon watching these heavy arrivals at Abbotsford. I’m I’m hoping a similar performance can be enjoyed before the Abbotsford Air show. I’m looking forward to making another effort out there to see how that goes. Look forward to meeting you in person one of these days as well.

    The KC-135 from 97th Air Mobility Wing, Atlus AFB, Oklahoma is showing a Triangle Y marking of the 97th Bombardment Group from WW2.

    The KC-135R came from Tinker AFB which does deep aircraft. That aircraft is probably fresh out of maintenance.

      @@JetFlix I visited Tinker AFB and learned about all the maintenance they do on KC-135, B-52s & B-1s. There was a KC-135 from RAF Middenhall at Tinker when I visited.

      @@JetFlixI was at the Moose Jaw airshow in 1990 and was there on the Monday when most of the planes left. I liked that better than the airshow itself.

      @@crushingvanessa3277 I agree the arrivals and departures days are almost always better than the actual airshow days! Simple reason being that the heavy metal usually does not fly during the airshow, only the smaller planes that are light on fuel fly. This is why airshows love biplanes and warbirds .. because they burn so little fuel.

    The KC-135R and KC-46 don't have thrust reversers ...why is that? Their civilian counterparts do. (707 and 767)

    • @JetFlix
      @JetFlix  Před 3 měsíci

      This is a question for Google, but it was always my understanding that the military versions of the 707 and 767 do you have the thrust reversers that were installed on the civilian versions of the aircraft?

    The KC-135 go around was done because they landed too fast.

    • @JetFlix

      It looked like that to me too .. that is why they did a double bounce.
