    Was Cora's ascend to heaven a justifiable moment?
    Also, for those who are wondering, I would really, really want to do Tumblr Reacts and I have even collated those posts but alas my computer just couldn't handle long hrs of editing. It would just freeze and restart every now and then and its kinda stressful. Hah
    So, I'm right here waiting for my fairy godmother to grant me a new computer, not from Shady Blue of course.

      yes. she ripped her own heart out and vowed to get revenge on Eva.. Had she married Leopold, Zelena would have become the evil queen. Rumple needed one of Cora's daughters to enact the curse, so either way, there would have been loss.

    • @creativewriter3887

      @@soixsantes No.. Cora couldn't/wouldn't be able to cast Rumple's curse. She didn't love anything or anyone, not even her daughters because she didn't have her heart. Rumple would still have to have corrupted Zelena or Regina to have them cast the curse. He actually knew what he was doing when he came to Cora's rescue. He told Regina he'd been waiting for this day for years. He wanted to get Cora out of the way in order to have Regina cast the curse. Despite his anger at Cora for not running off with him and chose to marry Prince Henry, he continued to train her because eventually she got the spell book. She didn't have it when she parted ways with Rumple. Once Regina was born, that's when Rumple started to train Cora.. it took her MONTHS just to learn the transformation spell and soon she became his rival.. His revenge on Cora would be to have Regina exile her. She was so hell bent on corruptint Snow that she didn't see Rumple was corrupting Regina.

    If I was Cora, I wouldn't have separated them. I would have said to the public I adopted Zelena, so they could both grow up together, however, because I need to stick to her character, I would have fed the inevitable fraternal competition they would have developed to the point in which all they could think of was one tearing her sister's heart out. But don't worry, I wouldn't tell the winner to crush the heart. I would have told the winner to use the heart to control the loser sister.
    Again, I don't like what I wrote, but since I'm imagining myself in Cora's situation, I have to consider that this is my personality mixed with hers. I would have wanted them together, because I find the magic to manipulate memories something unholy that should have never been invented in the first place. But, like Cora, I also have a taste for control, so I'm guessing I would "help" them develop this toxic rivalry.

    • @creativewriter3887
      @creativewriter3887 Před rokem +3

      Great post! However, given that rumple was the one pulling the strings.. and pretty much set it up Cora, i don't think Cora would have kept Zelena around. Remember in the episode when Zelena heals Regina, Zelena already KNOWS how to practice magic. It would not take long before she could out match Cora. Zelena could not be "adopted" because soon word WOULD get out that she was Cora's daughter and that would call into question Regina's legitimacy and Henry's father could disinherit them both and push Cora back to square one. She made sure she never had to deal with Zelena again as there could only be ONE heir and Zelena was too unpredictable. So she got rid of her a SECOND time, which is so tragic. But Rumple was aware and reminded Cora that Zelena was growing powerful in magic. In fact, she excelled at it faster than Regina. But Rumple was hell-bent on having Regina cast the curse and Cora's aim was to clear the path to Regina becoming Queen... Henry was FIFTH in line to his father's throne. So Cora turned her eyes to Leopold and Eva and began to slowly poison Eva and then orchestrate that Regina would become the queen (and she must have made Leopold forget he knew Cora) . Her plan was to corrupt Snow by taking her heart and then control the throne through Regina.. she never intended Regina to learn magic. Rumple had other plans.. to get rid of Cora, have Zelena locked in OZ and Regina to be forced to become the one for the curse... Zelena could have warned Regina about that, but I'm sure that would have meant her death.

    • @JabamiLain
      @JabamiLain Před 2 měsíci

      @@creativewriter3887true. Makes sense. But then, she should have taken her away from her father. That was just wrong, to give her back to him. Why keep an eye on your lost daughter if you're just gonna let her suffer, and risk her death ?
      If I really had to erase her memory to maintain the throne, I would have at least told her to keep away from people like her father who told her to hate her magic. And adviced her to use the memory of her father to keep her magic active and train through it, since they lean into dark magic. Though maybe I should keep her heart with me, in case she grew up to rule Oz.

      @@JabamiLain which makes one wonder... how DID Cora get to Oz to procure Zelena? Zelena had to have the magic slippers to get to the Enchanted forest and then back to Oz, but we never knew how Cora did it? If Cora played her cards right she could have guided Regina to rule over the EC (well, Cora would) but then rear Zelena to rule over Oz... and to think about it.. Regina did Cora a favor by jettisoning her to Wonderland.

      Fiona would definitely win though. Cora tried to fix her mistakes by taking full responsibility for everything she's done and made sure that Regina and Zelena found each other again. Fiona never would. She never truly felt sorry for everything she did and died a pure evil villain. And you gotta remember that Cora didn't even have her heart for most of her life. Because she knew that her heart, her love would weaken her resolve and she couldn't have that. Which is why she was never open to redemption until she got it back. And it turns out that she was right. The second she got her heart back she felt that her quest for power didn't truly matter. Her last words to Regina were "this would have been enough. You would have been enough." Fiona had her heart the whole time and she never once showed interest in changing. So as awful as Cora was, Fiona definitely takes the cake.

    I felt that OUAT writers forced a cheesy relationship between Zelena & Regina as children & invented the whole memory loss potion as a weak plot device to show how it would be if these two sisters actually got along. The execution was weak; however, the story does show a different perspective of what could have been had not Cora interfered & tried to control everyone & everything. Maybe they could have been a real family instead of becoming a disjointed & dysfunctional family. Because of Cora's greed & her need for her selfish desires, both her daughters suffered.

      0deadx21 It almost felt forced because why would Cora bring Zelena to the castle as a child? Why would Zelena have mastered her powers at this age to heal others when she only began training in dark magic with Rumple at a later age? Cora seemed unapologetic to me when she abandoned Zelena as a baby so she could cover up her shame. Zelena was very clumsy with her powers before she met Rumple. They just don't seem congruent with their later counterparts. However, Regina's story arc makes more sense because she always seemed lonely even as a child. This flashback scene makes the storytelling look a little lazy because its so easy to show it this way because of magical elements like a memory loss potion.
