I bet they're not in a replace them either, it honestly it seems like the perfect vehicle for the terrain

The Philippines used to have 48 Scorpion Tanks. Today it is been replaced by GDELS-Elbit Systems ASCOD Sabrah Tanks. But their turrets are being repurposed by being installed on M113 APCs as Fire Support Vehicle (FSVs), courtesy of Elbit Systems who offered the replacements for the Scorpions.

The reason Ally was chosen was for it to become Air Portable.

this would still make a nice fire support rig infantry no reason to retire it all it needs is a white phosphorus round added

These were nice vehicles and can still be useful in air mobile units. I wouldn't send them in a reconnaissance role for a tank battalion nowadays because they have better options both wheeled and tracked.

recon no but she'd still make a nice little fire support rig for the infantry! and she'd make a nice convoy escort too! she's already got HE and canister add in a white phosphorus round for her 76mm and not many fortified positions could stand up to that for long! in the escort role she's got more than enough to tear up an convoy ambush!!

Infantry support would be the primary role today.

I would take it over nothing TBH.
Wish my country could build a reliable, cheap, stupidly fast and agile, vehicle that can fill the Recon and infantry support. Nothing. Add a decent sized caliber, and missiles for self defense(30mm? 75+?)
Armor just enough to protect against small arms and shrapnel.
Give it some optics. Let's see how the new Marine Corp LT is used. I don't think it can be airdropped.

A very histories vehicle and a good combat record.

See, I like this review, because he's one of the few not calling it a 70mph tank. It's not a tank, it was limited to 50, but it was a great reconnaissance vehicle family, much loved by its crews, except for those with the gun with no fume extractor..

Upgrade the sights, engine, fire control, and then strap some Spike missiles on and she can hunt other tanks again.
That 76mm can still provide fire support and suppression for infantry.
