There's a qoute that I always come to mind whenever I meet a new friend l. And I think it also connects to Jack
Strangers to Friends, Friends to Enemies. Or another similar qoute, Strangers Yesterday, Friends today, Enemies Tomorrow.
It means you never know what happens in life.

I can’t wait till Rasputin gets revealed, I think even Jack would be disgusted by Rasputin’s reputation as a real life mad man. Tho I think they might write Rasputin’s quality would be leaning more towards opportunistic and survival rather than just sadistic hedonism.

Probably the most compelling of the humans, at least thus far. I think the most interesting thing about him is the fact that of the 3 rounds like Hercules pointed out we had amazing humans and then we have this one this evil man who represents our opposite, the worst of what we bring in humanity yet it's just as pivotal and important because it's within *ALL* our aspects of humanity, the good and bad, that victory can be achieved against the Gods

Not hot on the spin off, but I take it more an addict chasing a bigger and bigger high. He does not really get all that much out of killing his targets. His "employer" hates him, he is self admittly broke when he gets rescued after being jumped and no one knows who he is despite putting down some horrible people. He just does it cause the colors he sees killing people give him a hard-on. One could even see him accepting to fight for humanity as just another drug; another high for him to reach.

Are the scissors a reference to a potential suspect as well? And also do you think there's added symbolism in his destroying London, and by extention the big Ben, kind of a thing about him tearing down the whole world to reach his goal, which is admirable and terrible at the same time. Jack is the human that values his own value above anything else, herc values everything else over his own wants, hence why he couldn't truly fight for what he wanted and lost to jack.

Yeah likely a reference to Willy Clarkson, he was a ticket and wig maker for the royals, there’s a short film about it called The Wigmaker of Wellington
Oh damn that’s an amazing point, wish I’d picked up on that,

I still can't believe humanity's ungratefulness for jack's victory. He goes through all of the trouble to win for them, and this is how they thank him? Gee. Atleast Shakespeare and anna were decent enough to apreciate his effort. Sure, he's a psycho but still.

I personally think Jack still kills randos, he just gets paid when he murders another serial killer and probably gets pardons too. Also him being nice just to be nice makes sense as a serial killer. I mean, how many were seemingly normal people but then got busted as monsters?

  • @sammyjones2081

I think the idea being Jack killing those arguably worse than him in his own series is the idea that he's "the last one standing", and what it takes to be become so, so to speak. The people he kills are murderers and assassins, who use underhanded and brutal tactics, and being able to get the better of them means understanding those tactics and often utilizing them himself. After all, we see him use them against Heracles, by lying and cheating. It kind of connect both series together, seeing the foundation of Jack's abilities in further detail, and it calls to mind the theme in his battle that anyone can be evil - anyone can understand and use these tactics.

I just want to say something about jack the ripper's way of fighting. Which i probably should have said it before you made this video.
Because he isn't physically strong, he dosen't fight hercules head on. He fights stealthy. However, it ocurred to me what his way of fighting is.
There is a way of fighting that's happened for years in the history of battle. It's called fighting guerrilla style. For those who don't know what that is, a guerrilla style battle is a battle where one group dosen't fight their enemy head on, but instead fights in a stealthy way and/or fights with strategic way with little reasources until their enemy perishes or retreats. Which sounds almost how jack the ripper fights hercules.
So in other words: jack the ripper fights in a guerrila style fight.
Which fits him perfectly. And which might be the same for simo hayha. I believe simo hayha will fight odin in a guerrilla style battle. Like jack did.

I do think the spin off represents jack in a good and bad way.
Yes he target's bad people but who says he didn't kill good people too? A monster can be nice because as you said no one is truly evil which means they don't always need to act evil.

    • @SephTheSin
      @SephTheSin  Před 2 měsíci

I of course am not ruling out him killing innocent people too, but at least in the spin off he’s only ever killed ‘bad people’ and there’s little implication of him killing anyone but bad people, I mean Lu Bu kills more good people in his spin off than Jack has in his

@@SephTheSin yeah I know still I do think the spin off still ties with jacks personality. After all a gentleman and a murder can be very deceiving as I think we're not supposed to think Jack fully is a monster. He is human like us but doesn't excuse him for killing people. Even if they were scum of the earth we aren't the judge we don't get to choose who lives or who dies

And in reality Evil does takes over justice and that is Prejudice.
The ones with power can bend the law through own selfishness.
And the Only solution to that how long.
Because yes is corruption is as Evil as you may thing. It's just temporarily Evil is not everlasting.

yeah, I would have liked it if it was away from record of ragnorok. cause it is a good story. but cause it makes it so "jack the ripper" is not "jack the ripper" it makes me feel like it ruins it. you know? he's suppose to be evil. to be the worst of humanity, yet instead they make him some sort of tragic hero vigilante.
