I mean it's not that it's wrong. I feel he says that more in like an artistic/aesthetic way. Like an amateur painter who has the right idea but could make it better with the proper technique and knowledge to develop their own style. In the end, what you have and feel comfortable is right, but if you want to convey the swagger then here's some aesthetic tips
Frugal aesthetic (s/o Christian, funniest fashion CZcamsr no contest) made a video relating to color theory and people sticking too close to the rules or confines of matching tones (rather than using those “rules” as a reference point). This is very similar but instead it’s relating to the proportions of your outfit. You can bend the rules or straight up not follow them if your outfits still cohesive.
@@Tom_Swift It's probably that baggy jeans just aren't your style. Tim gives loads of good advice on a variety of different styles-- but not all styles will agree with you mate.
Those length of those jeans were damn near perfect for those sneakers. I do get his point and he’s right, especially in my case. Never been a skinny jeans guy. Just awful for a bigger dude.
Just reference Japanese fashion brands and how they style baggy clothes if you want to get that wide silhouette look. Most notably Yohji Yamamoto fits are very loose.
I can't believe oversized jeans are coming back. it took me years to adapt to skinny jeans and to wear them comfortably, and now they're telling me baggy jeans are trendy? it was trendy 20 years ago
Imo they’re ugly and will go out of style again (if you’re going for stylish looks) Go for a medium size instead of baggy or too skinny. Or opt out of buying jean material in general and find a different thread that can texture better like linen.
Naw ur crazy..im 35 and was raised wearing baggy clothes and f skinny jeans never got into it..i do dress slim fit or whatever its called but never skinny but at the end of the day it depends on the occasion..typical wear for me is a large jersey with big basketball shorts (and im not big)…i just have that 90/s 2000s type of fashion in near that will never go away…but ofcourse when i go to churxh or somewhere nice with the wife i rock a dress shirt (NEVER TUCKED)…with slim jeans (about what this guy calls baggy lol maybe a little tighter)…and ofcourse ripped jeans…but skinny jeans look terrible always have…unless you have a real good body to go with it but still
you can wear slim shoes with wide pants if the pants fully rest over the shoe in a relaxed sort of slouchy manner. (like the back of the pants is right on the heel) I think having the really wide leg right up ontop of the thin shoe looks really intentional and stylish.
The contrast of the small shoe with wide fit pants is great Chuck 70s with cuffed wide fit is an amazing look and all baggy works some times just like a all slim fit also works sometimes you just gotta do something with it
And other tip I would add is to wear them with confidence. For people like me who used to go on the slimmer side, when I first try wearing baggy jeans I felt weird, but the comfort i experienced (since I have big legs) made me feel great and now I wear them with confidence and I think I look crispy ;)
i feel good looking at your videos because even before i started following your style, i had been doing exactly what you say in your videos, the color choice, the choice of clothes and now this one... i can tell that your style and my style are superimposable...
Instead of wearing bulky shoes you can cuff the pants and wear longer socks with shoes like vans converse stuff like that. I’m a skateboarder btw and I get compliments on my style a lot.
Advice is good, but nothing works better than having fun and looking at yourself in the mirror and asking yourself how you feel about what your wearing and trying things out.
Same, I loved the first look! I prefer it to the turtleneck, i found that look too boring. I guess it doesn't match his aesthetic/ fashion sense. So if someone's going for a look like his, the first outfit would be "wrong"
Try a crew neck or maybe something that doesn’t contrast as much like a off white or chambray that match the jeans. That way there is no cut off point with colors that can make you appear shorter.
I actually thought the wrong look wasn't that bad lol

Usually it's less objectively bad and more outfits that are a little confused but they've got the spirit I think
They never are

The pieces themselves were nice but imo as an outfit they had a hard time looking good together
