    Absolutely brilliant. Have been following the series and this episode, like the other prior episodes was brilliant. I can't wait for the next one.
    Being tasked with helping our church get firmly established in steaming I have certainly found these episodes and your other videos insightful; practical and rather helpful. Thanks so very much. May the King of Glory overwhelm you with much more of His goodness!

    Question: you mentioned using the audio interface capability of digital boards as the best option. But you didn’t mention how that works? We have a Zoom L20, and it has an audio interface capability. We use Zoom (the video conferencing application - not to be confused with the brand of our soundboard!) for our virtual services and classes. I have the drivers for the soundboard downloaded onto our computer (laptop, but a powerful one) and when I plug the USB from the board into the computer, the L20 comes up as a mic option in Zoom. Buuuut no signal. I would love to be able to make the sound as good as possible! We have a conference we are doing soon that is mostly virtual, but the worship band will be live in our building playing for people gathered on Zoom, so if anyone can help with this it would be great!!

    Can two audio interfaces be used? For example I have all input coming from the digital snake or from a digital console for broadcast and I want to route it out of the laptop with another soundcard like the one you mentioned. So that I can have multiple input from the mixer soundcard and the output goes out on the standalone output, and have my main mix routed out from there.
    Thank you

    This is so awesome. Thank you so much pastor for this detailed walk-through. Just to add. Bethel now produces the template for other daws: Ableton, logic, reaper. A little question? For my church we use our ethernet connection for our internect connection in our livestream as our wifi is not too strong. How does that work with us if we go the dante route. We may not have the budget for a dante card right now but since we have the x32 we want to use our card out option to connect to our Livestreaming pc and get all 32 tracks into the bethel ableton/protools template for livestream but that will be too much cpu load on our livestreaming pc as Vmix takes a toll too. How do we come about this set up? Thanks for all you do for His Kingdom man. Grateful.

    Can I USB from a digital mixer (Presonus StudioLive 32 series iii) into my computer and live mix inside Logic Pro X? I don't have a Dante card but I would like to mix for my church's live-stream and if I can achieve that with USB that would be fantastic.

    My setup is like this: x32 + dante, laptop for mixing broacast, audio interface, second laptop for livestream. From the mixing laptop I need to send the mix but how can I send it through the dante and still have the possibility to monitor it? At the moment from the mixing laptop I go in audio interface for monitoring and sending further. Is it a better way that I am missing?

    Question, I used a usb from my Yamaha mixer to my pc. When I play music from my computer to the mixer/speaker, I hear a screech scratching noise for about 5 seconds that over powers the music every couple minutes. Do you know why that happens? I decided to use red and yellow lines instead and plugged them into the 3.5 mm jack on computer. I’m not sure if it’s because the usb cannot take the sound cleanly from the computer to the mixer.

  • @greystreetunitedchurch4689

    Loving your video series on church live streaming. I couldn't agree with you more on the importance of audio to the success of a live stream. My only question (for now, anyway): Is there, or will there be, a Part 4 of 4?

    Very very very helpful. Could you help me understand how to “download the drivers” as you mention when using the audio interface to capture audio...?! I just set our church up for streaming today. And then quickly realized the audio from the board to the PC using the “mic in” jack was AWFUL. I ordered the audio interface you recommended. But am nervous about where to find the drivers you mentioned.

    Such a great vid! So we’ve hit a major wall recently with audio mix. Initially we dedicated 2 buses on our X32 for our live stream mix. Those feeds are sent to our atem (l&r) then to an aja-utap and into wirecast on our iMac. The audio quality is decent, but that’s it. I recently connected my MacBook Pro (Logic Pro x) to our X32 using the usb digital output on the mixer. I have all 32 channels coming in, and I’m able to create a separate mix in logic with such a great waves plugins. It’s a night and day sound. Here’s the big issue now. How do I get that audio sound to either the atem or into wirecast? We cannot figure this out. We’ve tried using a few fire boxes as interfaces so that the MacBook and iMac talk to each other, but we get annoying, loud hum and buzz at times. Other times, the signal is so weak by the time it gets to wirecast. Anyhow, this is the wall we’ve hit. If we can get the logic, mastered mix into our live stream feed in wirecast, it would be a game changer in so many ways. Thanks for the help and pointers. 👊🏽😎

    Thank you so much for your series, as we are trying to set up live streaming and none of us is very educated on this! I have a question: We have an Allen and Heath SQ5 which has the USB 2.0, so based on this video, we should be able to plug our mixer directly into our PC as it acts as the audio interface. That makes total sense. However, I then got lost during the next section where you talk about mixing the audio for the feed. If my mixer is already plugged directly into my PC, I'm not understanding what comes next. What am I plugging into what? I think due to our limited volunteers, the post fader aux mix would be what we'd do, but I'm not understanding how it is put together.

    • @TheDigitalPastor
      @TheDigitalPastor  Před 4 lety

      You're welcome Sherry! I'm glad I can help.
      For your mixer I believe you can do multiple ways of mixing. Without looking at the manual I am guessing you could grab your main LR mix/ a post fade mix/ pre fade mix or bring all the channels in from the USB. Which way are you wanting to mix or have the staff to mix? Do you have a person available to be a dedicated live stream mixer?
