Yeah he said fails miserably. But these guys are brave just to even try something new. Giving 100% isn’t failing miserably.
Especially a brutal sport like MMA, going from wwe where you look after your opponent to going somewhere where you smash the f**k out of each other, takes some big balls imo

Truth. The man showed up at the local promotion I have ties to, to promote a friend, getting started on the local level. Did a sparring session with one of their best, while here. You could tell he was just toying with him.
Had he wanted to take him out, it would have been done and over, PDQ. And that is exactly what our guy said.
Yea Lewis is ranked in the top 5 in UFC, currently one of the best heavyweights in the world.
Lewis is a bum
Agreed
And he has a victory over Francis Ngannou
Absolutely no one expected Punk to win his fight with Gall. The whole MMA community, fans, fighters 100% expected him to fail.

Sean O'Haire actually had 4 wins and 2 losses in MMA. In Kickboxing he was 0-4, so theres that to mention.
He would gas after the first minute
Saying Shamrock went to MMA is a little inaccurate, he came from MMA.
Nope. He was wrestling territories in the late 80's early 90's and then in the UWF in Japan before he went to the UFC.
@@adamguest5292 He was a wrestler first but very very early on into is career he was having shoot fights. So yah technically he was a wrestler before mma, but he really made a name for himself with shoot fights/mma.
I will always consider him an MMA guy who also did some pro wrestling. Not some big famous pro wrestler who did MMA on the side.
@@letsplayxboxsports The comment I replied to stated 'he came from MMA' which is factually incorrect. Pancrase had tight links to pro-wrestling orgs and that's where Ken's acumen and talent for shoot fighting was discovered. Training with Pro Wrestlers who had a background in traditional shoot grappling like Funaki and Suzuki.
The facts have nothing to do with fame. Would Ken have got a WWF/E role without UFC success? You never know for sure. But without Pro Wrestling and especially exposure to Japanese style wrestling, Ken never discovers MMA and forges the career that leads him back to wrestling.
No he was a pro wrestler back in the 80s
@@dandelgiorno7715 Not getting you bruv. I'm aware of his career, read his biography and been watching wrestling since the 80s and MMA since the 90s. I know his career goes: wrestling-MMA-wrestling-MMA

9:05 a fight CM punk was expected to win? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here lol
Yeah anybody with knowledge of mma knew Mickey would win
Exactly. As Joe Rogan said, that’s what happens when a BJJ white belt fights a BJJ brown belt. Mickey Gall is also a lifelong martial artist and trainer, while Punk couldn’t even manage to deliver a decent Macho Man flying elbow in a worked sport.
I was really pleased to see Punk get destroyed by Gall in the octagon after he refused to shake Mickey’s hand at the weigh-ins. What an entitled jerk.
@@tangoblue Yah I have no idea what he was thinking going up against a brown belt. I mean, even a white vs purple belt is pretty much a death sentence. I used to train in jiu jitsu before and unless its like a seasoned white belt vs a brand new blue belt, its super rare to even beat someone 1 belt level above you, nevermind 2 or 3.
@@tangoblue Think Gall was black belt by the time he fought Punk. I competed in the circuit with Gall years before he fought MMA. The only person who I saw dismantle Gall was Gordon Ryan, who is the #1 grappler right now. Gall was super legit and tough as nails, I can imagine now.
I mean, not to be that guy but CM Punk did actually have training in Muay Thai and BJJ before WWE but it was not enough for UFC
Oh cm punk was so terrible in ufc it was so hilarious and sad at the same time my gawd punk was so bad in ufc
And he still thinks he is a draw and want 100 million, if he is not on the mic he is a pathetic joke
You can still call him the best in the world.... At getting beat 😆
@@JGD185 i dont know why people think cm punk is better than shane mcmahon
It takes a lot of work to be a ufc fighter and he was new and going against someone who had more experience.
@@styles4111 starting training near 40 is a retarted idea and what is even more retarted is going against people that are obviously better than him
I think that Punk's Humiliating 0-2 career at the UFC not only humbled his ego as a man, but also completely destroyed his confidence and fighting spirit as a Pro-Wrestler.
What made it worse is he didn't even lose to a known star. Like Brock losing to Mir
@@lt.danicecream So much difference between Frank mir and Mickey gall (skills, talent, quality, experience) for example frank mir is former ufc hw champion and Most wins by submission in UFC Heavyweight division (8), he won in 2011 Submission of the Year vs. Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira on December 10 mma award.
@@ugurkaraalioglu2813 that makes it even worse that he couldn't even hang with an amateur and Lesnar barely lost to a former heavy weight champion.
Punk was awful, period.
@@lt.danicecream Actually cm punk is not real athlete has zero background, without power, aggression, athletic ability, explosiveness, he is physically weak man. Even shame Punk's fans thought really he could beat mike Jackson.

Sean's MMA record was actually 4 wins and 2 losses
His kickboxing record was 4 loses
RIP Sean
Wasn't he a wife beater?
Definetely CM Punk will be no 1 in this list
I wouldn’t say Mitch failed miserably, he lost to someone who went on to be a top MMA fighter
I think the failure is less the result of the loss, and more the result of a lot of ambition snuffed out in his one-and-only match. If he kept going, he'd probably be replaced on this list by some other poor soul, honestly...
... Unless he kept losing without a win, of course.
Yeah, I think he has zero experience with MMA or what an MMA fight is in reality. There were a few that weren't in any way shape or form embarrassing or miserable failures. I'm pretty sure he just wanted a catchy title instead of it saying unsuccessful attempts at MMA which would make way more sense. I hate when channels speak on stuff they know nothing about and reuse the same clips in dozens of videos.
Never knew Bam Bam would try his hand at MMA.
Was a big fan of that guy.
If you really expected CM Punk to win his fight against Mickey Gall you're crazy

Bobby Lashley was extremely successful. A ton of wins and about 3 to 2 losses. That’s an amazing number.
He had a good career but he mostly fought nobodies and journeymen and he never made it to the UFC. The UFC is the top caliber.
He mostly fought cans tho no memorable name's. Only real person to go from wrestling to MMA successfully was Brock even then the heavyweight division at the time wasn't really good he got destroyed when guys like Cain and Allistar came around

@@NookTommy Well, to be fair it used to.

But MMA was a bet, in which he lost.
Respect to all who tried MMA it's brutal stuff.
No one expected Punk to beat Gall, you donut.
Not at all😂😂
Bam Bam should be in the HOF
Appreciate the video. I’d add:
1. Tony Halme fought Randy at 13, not 8. 8 was Don Frye winning the tournament and Shamrock vs Kimo superfight
2. Mitch losing to Derrick Lewis, a guy who is a top contender in UFC is honorable. Not losing to a slap, so not sure if that’s failing miserably.
3. Pancrase MMA was known to have worked fights, especially with pro wrestlers. Bas Rutten will tell you his aren’t fixed (and I believe him based on him trying to take people out in stand up), but many of them are sketch, especially where it’s submissions. So Taka and Liger are questionable.
4. If Liger’s fight wasn’t fixed, he fought Suzuki, who was a legend of the sport and twice beat Ken shamrock in his prime(so long as his fights are legit).
I love how Bam Bam always acted so tough.
Ryback once claimed he would do MMA but backed out. I’d love to see WWE do another Brawl-For-All but with more MMA rules.
CM Punk I think he was only in 2 matches & lost them both.🤔
Yep
They're called fights not matches...
You say failed miserably, I say took a chance, I'd like to see you guys step in the octagon with a professional fighter

Giant Silva looking like a Brazilian Andre with a Weird Al haircut.
Your intro song is awesome
CM Punk in WWE : I would be Best in the world some where else.
While in MMA : Losing all matches.
Better , I should be in WWE 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well remember losing doesn’t mean failing miserably. 2-4 isn’t great but at least whoever did it put 100% into it. That is all that matters.
True
Bam Bam bigelow was my favorite fighter in SEGA WWF Game, mainly because his jump from the ring would make the opponent burn in fire.

I was thinking the same exact thing, but I just looked, and Del Rio is apparently 9-6 now in MMA. So not exactly a failure compared to the rest on this list. That head kick, though. I'm surprised he didn't quit for good after that one.

The way I’m seeing it, Bellator is fine with Hager working AEW dates while having an MMA career. Hello there
You do realize that Ken Shamrock, an mma legend long before he joined the WWE, crossed from mma to wrestling, yes? He didn't go from wrestling to mma, like your commentary implies.
He actually did, since he began as a pro wrestler in the late 80's and that was his work in Japan that convinced him, Funaki and Suzuki to create Pancrase and then participating in UFC1.
I like everything that was said in this video
Please do a video showcasing the opposite. Wrestlers and MMA fighters who did well at both such as "The Gracie Hunter " Kaz Sakaruba , Minoru Suzuki, and Yoshihiro Takayama who fought the most brutal round with legend Don Frye.
