Amartuvshin gives me goosebumps, and he gives me hope. During a time where mediocrity triumphs all around emerges one of the finest Verdi baritones ever to step on a stage. He is possibly the best currently active opera singer across all disciplines.

Voce estremamente brunita, stentorea, capace di sostenere in maniera omogenea bassi, centri e acuti con passaggi in copertura del tutto fisiologici e inapparenti. Immascherazione precisa , emissione potente, perfettamente sostenuta a livello diaframmatico.Timbro decisamente unico, di un colore che ricorda quello dei grandissimi baritoni del passato, associato ad una capacità tecnica solida già consolidata e non soltanto naturale. Tra i migliori di sempre a mio modesto giudizio. Among the best ever in my humble opinion. Stage interpretation that can be improved, in accordance with the best understanding of the Italian text, which in any case already appears good in terms of diction.

Leonard Warren was lighter and not quite as dark yet there is the same kind "black cloud" feeling. He should be careful with his vibrato.
