OMMGGG THANK YOU!! There a ppl with 25min videos over explaining this process and I still left confused. Lol! So glad I found your video. Thank you again!
Lmao... Thanks for your comment and I'm glad that this video was helpful to you! ❤️
I get so much anxiety from this kind of stuff so thank you soooo much. Seeing it done first helps me enedessly
I'm so glad this video helped you ❤️ Thanks for watching 🥰
I want to thank you for an excellent instruction video. Problems I've had with other peoples' videos on this subject are: First, you don't speak with an accent that is so heavy I can't understand what you are saying. Second, you don't presume I know certain things that are obvious to you, so you feel you can just skip those things leaving me totally befuddled as to what I did wrong. Third, you didn't make a video devoid of audio, requiring me to read the instructions and then flashed the instruction on and off the screen so fast I didn't have time to read them or have time to compare the instructions with the equipment on hand (the reason I'm watching a video is that I don't want to read the instructions.) You didn't make any of those mistakes. You made a perfectly comprehensible video for someone who had no idea what they were doing, and for that I THANK YOU. ❤
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad that you found this video helpful. This makes me happy ❤️
Hey girl I just wanted thank you first if all , THANK YOU !.... FINALLY SOMEONE MADE A SIMPLE TO FOLLOW DIRECTIONS that I can understand..... please make more videos ... 🎉🎉🎉❤ thank you 🤗👏

Thank you! The only problem I encountered was that I could not get anywhere activating the modem and router on Spectrum until I switched to my hotspot. Can't figure that one out, but glad it worked out for me. As far as hooking it all up, this tutorial was excellent.
I'm so glad that it all worked out and that this helped you ❤️

What do you do if there is no cable outlet in wall?
You will have to reach out to your internet provider and have them come out and install one for you
Best video ever
Thanks for commenting. Glad you enjoyed ❤️
What if your apartment doesn’t have a coax outlet ?
You'll have to get with your cable provider to have them send a tech out to install one
I did they came to install it this morning :]@@BtheTechie
Thx you B
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Mine just flickers red while the other just goes to blue and white
Hey there! When the lights are flashing like that, that means the modem is offline, check your coax cable and make sure it's screwed on finger tight at both ends... If it is, you may need to either try another coax outlet or call your internet provider and have them check your signal
@@BtheTechie appreciate it Mrs happy new years
@@stickboianimations2273 Happy New Year to you too 😊

thank you!!!
You're welcome 😊
Right now we have an older router/modem from spectrum that I need to exchange for a newer one. I am confused because it has the yellow cable going to the desktop PC. Does this set up eliminate going to the PC with the yellow cable?
No this set up does not eliminate the hard wired connection between your computer and modem/router... It sounds like you have a gateway modem, which is a modem and router all in 1 box. When you upgrade, they're going to give you a standalone modem and standalone router, so you'll have 2 boxes instead of the 1 you currently have... In this set up, the ethernet Cable (the yellow cable) is what connects the modem to the router. The new standalone router will have 3-4 additional ethernet ports on the back to allow you to plug in/ hardwire your computer or any other device you would like to have a direct connection and not be on wifi... I hope this helps 😊
@Bthe Techie oh okay thank you. Yes it helps a lot.
@@handsome40ful glad I was able to help!
Did you plug that coax cable in because you got internet and cable? Because I only got internet and didnt receieve a coax cable so im wondering what you got please help
Yes you will need a coax cable, it is a cable modem and that is how the internet is delivered from your provider to your modem, via coax cable... If you didn't receive one with your self install kit, you can go to your local Spectrum Store (assuming that is your internet provider) and they will give you one for free, otherwise, you can also purchase one on your own 😊
@@BtheTechiewhat if i dnt have a coax entrance at home
@@larebel619 you would want to reach out to your internet service provider to schedule a tech to come install one in your home
Why they bever gave me a cox cable?
Call your cable provider and they may be able to give you one for free. If not, you can buy one for less than $10
Do we need the router as well? Or can we just use the modem? Were items free? Or is there a rental fee?
If you want to have wifi, yes you will need a router... Spectrum provides modems to their internet customers for free, and will charge $5 for their wifi service and router
You can’t use it without coaxial cable ?
With this type of equipment, no
Don't you need to get online and create an account too?
@@NyceBoi89 yes! Once you install the internet devices and get everything working, you will need to create an online account with your provider... You'll want to reach out to your provider for more details about that tho
How do I make it static ip I don't need dhcp....
You will need to reach out to your internet service provider to see if they offer static ip's... Most static ips are offered to business accounts
Why do I need the modem at all, my internet connection is fine without it just using the router
Hello there! When you have cable internet, the modem is the box that brings the internet from the provider to your home. You cannot have internet without it. The router is the box that connects to the modem that allows you to have wireless capabilities for your devices aka wifi... You can have internet without the router but you cannot have it without the modem... It sounds like you may have a different type of internet set up if you don't have a modem, you might have a wifi box which doesn't require it's not connected by coax cable and doesn't have a modem
Mines red is it evil
Lol no, it just means that it is offline, meaning there is no internet signal coming from your provider to your modem. You'll want to check and make sure your coax cable is securely screwed on both ends and not damaged. If you checked and still can't get rid of the red light, call your internet provider
One more thing , I looked at other videos however I feel that those other videos lacked precision and there there modems were different and that will leave you totally confused...
WE 🤍 YOU
We love you too 😘
You from St. Louis I think we friends on the book
😊😊😊😊😊
I don’t have the outlet that comes from my house
You will need to get one installed
@@BtheTechie ok thanks
@@252Fitness you're welcome
What about the thing that's sticking out of the wall.what do u connect to that
Are you referring to the coaxial outlet that sticks out of the wall?
I have a coaxial cable that runs from my basement through the floor and not like you have the outlet in the wall. What do I do?
@@TheYankeeFarmer you would just plug that cable to the coax outlet on the back of the modem
I need help lol my online keeps flashing from white to blue
That means it's offline... Check your coax cable and make sure it's finger tight... If it still doesn't work try checking another coax outlet... If that doesn't work, you'll probably need a tech to come out
What if I get red color?
If the router is showing red, it may not be online... Make sure the ethernet cable is plugged into the yellow internet slot on both the modem and the router
✨🚀✨
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Sadly this didnt help me. Its been 25 mins. Still getting the blinking white/blue light
I'm sorry it didn't help.... It sounds like your modem is offline and not getting a signal. Could mean that the coax cable/outlet isn't active... You'll definitely want to reach out to your internet provider because they may need to send a tech to check the line
Same and I know the coax is good because I had our dvr from At&t plugged in. Did yo resolve it?
@@mikeberg5003 you may need to have the outlet checked. It's possible that it might not be active or could even be in issue with the line outside. I would reach out to your service provider and have a technician come take a look
@@BtheTechie The outlet (coaxial) works fine as we've been using it up until this morning for our DVR which is with AT&T U-verse service. I was told on another forum that since AtT is supplying the signal through that coaxial line, we cannot use Spectrum without a tech coming out and changing things around so we have Spectrum coming out on Monday. That doesn't make sense to me but I guess it's possible. But knowing that people have a previous provider coming into their home, why doesn't Spectrum tell anyone that?
@@mikeberg5003 Spectrum doesn't know, prior to you telling them, that you are using another provider. But yes, since you already are using your active outlet for your ATT cable TV, you will need the tech come and install/activate the outlet for your internet service with them
This is the easiest thing to setup 💀💀💀💀💀
So glad you found this to be easy! Thanks for your comment 😊
