    This is way better than those other videos where they're drilling holes into the pillar, bunch of amateurs trying to cut corners, you guys are pros at it

      I agree. I started watching another install video, and cringed at their 'style' of drilling a bunch of holes so I came back here to save this video for future reference.

    I have a 2019 SR5 and there was only 1 difference. I had to remove all 4 bolts from the spoiler, other than that the hardest part was running the wires through the rubber grommet inside the door. Great video!!! Helped out immensely and no drilling needed! Thank you!!

    So much better than all the other tutorials I've seen where they drill into the rear door. It's a little more work, but who wants to drill into their truck's body if you can avoid it?

    Great tutorial video. I like how you guys fished the wire through the grommet and wire boot. Way cleaner and no drilling like the other install videos I’ve watched. I know there had to be a better install video out there.

    I've had this video saved for a few months now. I had ordered this lights and installed with the wiring being a bit "unprofessional." Finally had a free day to redo it, and thank guys! It took a little while to redo the wiring, but got done. It's now nicely hidden. My only issues was running the wires through the grommet. PITA!!! I also had to remove the bolts from the spoiler, but it's not so bad. :)

    I wish it had a line of amber light for turn signals and then the red alone works as brake light but oh well can’t complain, still looks awesome I’m getting a pair for my 2022 4Runner 😄

    Okay so update, I received my Tailgate pillar lights today. Honestly it is a great addition to my Limited and it took me 45 minutes to install "very simple." however I did end up breaking 2 of my clips because the bottom clip is reversed on the Limiteds so you have to pop it out with the housing then slide the plastic piece up and out Or order new ones incase one breaks. I do wish the passenger right light's cord was longer. Other than that it's a great look.

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 8 měsíci

      I agree. The passenger barely made it to the taillight. Sorry about your clips breaking but glad you got it done so quickly.

    What year is this 4 runner. It looks like the fasteners to the pillar panels may be different unless I am seeing it wrong. I may have to take a look at mine and see if they are the same. Mine is a 2017 limited. I see people popping the panels off which I dont like. If all models slide then I am totally following this model

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 3 měsíci

      This 4runner is a 2015 Trail Edition. I'm not sure if there's a difference in the limited version, I believe they should be the same.

      Do you by chance know the oem clip number? Or even a replacement clip just in case some snap?

    Nice video. Did you have to extend the wiring at any point?

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 4 měsíci

      It was a tight run to the rear passenger taillight but I didn’t have to extend

    How did you disconnect the 4 small wires after testing to allow for easier wire routing afterwards?

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 9 měsíci

      You can remove the wire afterwards from the plug to fish it through

  • @robertorivera8296

    Did you have an extra long harness on the kit?

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 3 měsíci

      Nope, I used the wires that were included. It was definitely a tight run so make sure you run it the same way we did in the video, it barely made it to the rear passenger taillight

    Did you guys use a relay? I tried these with the stealth taillights, and it fried my diode in my brakes and killed my battery. The pillar lights are drawing too much power, so I can't use them anymore now that I got the diode and battery fixed.

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 8 měsíci

      That’s weird. We had no issues and used no relays. Maybe the draw on the aftermarket diodes may be too much

    This wasn't very helpful. You have to take off all 4 bolts! You don't have to use a coat hanger to fish through either. As a woman I found my way better and simpler. I've worked on my own car for years now.
    Should also be noted that every year of the 4runner is a little different.

    • @OtzleeExplains
      @OtzleeExplains  Před 3 měsíci
