- Is there any wheel better than the BBS E88 on a Porsche 964? The E88 is a motorsport classic and looks perfect on the 964. In this video I go through the specs of my BBS E88s. These specs are for my wheels - remember to make sure you talk to an expert about the right fitment for your ride.

So informative, anyone thinking of buying E88’s this video is gold... great work Andy 🏆
This video is gold - see what you did there! 😂
Nice and congrats on the E88’s! Dave is a great and his knowledge of these cars is grand and invaluable.
Thanks for the comment! People like Dave are such a great part of this - now global - community. Like you say, such great knowledge!
Another great video Andy, thanks for sharing the details on these awesome wheels! Not shocked but can’t believe you polish the barrels after every wash!
Polishing is a step too far? 😂
Great video! I’ve been looking at these for a while and was unsure where to source from in Australia. Now I know! Thanks for posting. 👍🏻
No sweat! 997 with BBS? Do it!
Great video Andy!!
Aw, thanks good sir! Very much looking forward to your next one!
Great video 👍
Cheers Chris! Really appreciate the comment!
Love the 911 cooled stocked, love their videos
I’ll let Drew know! 😉
Great informative video! Love the look of the BBS wheels on your car, especially the colour combo. For me the BBSs would be too much hard work to keep clean though.
Haha. It’s worth the effort!
Another great video Andy! Very informative.
Thanks very much for watching and really appreciate you taking the time to comment! E88’s on the horizon for you?
@@lastrasp At some point. Right now I really want to sort the suspension as it needs updating
@@964Luftballoon yep. Best place to start.
Green and gold combo is fire! Love the E88s on the 964.....my dream wheels.
Cheers Greg. Dream wheels - one day for you?
@@lastrasp one day for sure!
@@wordsofmyhands Nice! Took me a while to buy mine. Expensive upgrade for sure!
Those wheels are sensational.
Speedlines next. What about you?
Awesome overview. Have these on my 964 but +47 offsets, and really love them. These wheels look so good in person. I did get them ceramic coated to help with the cleaning problem and it’s made it so much easier. I think a lot of things really depend on suspension setup, with adjustable height coilovers it makes figment much easier to dial in.
Very much thinking about ceramic coating. Great idea.
@@lastrasp Clear coat them
Butzi ftw.. Dave is the man
Yep. Legend!!
These tech Vids are awesome 👍🏼 What’s next ?
Thanks fella. There's something in the works for suspension...
Great upgrade and she's looking hot! Enjoy, smiles for miles :)
Definitely smiles for miles! Always with these cars.
Can't get enough of this car, you could make a video washing it and I'd watch it, oh wait you have and I did. 🤣👍
😂bwahah. That’s funny. Maybe I’ll make a video of me just standing in the garage looking at it. Pretty much a nightly ritual 🤷🏼♂️
Good video as always.
Regarding keeping the wheels clean, I recommend you look into ATE ceramic brake pads. Best thing you can do
Read your comment and went straight to their website, thank you. How are they in terms of performance and squealing?
@@lastrasp I've had them fitted on both my standard golf r brake setup, and now my Porsche BBK set-up in the same car. When they were in stock configuration I had no squealing and excellent performance/pedal feel. Now I've gone to monoblock calipers on all 4 corners and 2 piece floating discs, The car is "over-braked" and rarely on the street do they see any real heat, maybe 1 or 2 times a week I'd have some slight noise the first time I used them when the car was my daily driver, but realistically nothing else noise wise.
On the track the pads performed perfectly. I had no braking issues or any sort of fade. But I do pressure flush/ replace my brake fluid every year, as well as before and after any track events.
I've spent the last 6 years fitting them to customer cars with only 2 possible cases of noise/ vibration blamed on the pads, in reality this was most likely caused by user error. I recommend you fit new discs at the same time to minimise any chance of issues/ noise or strange pedal feel.
@@CELproductions awesome info thanks so much!
@@lastrasp no problems. insta is nar_032 slide into my DMs if you've any more questions.
Great video Andy. Very informative. May I ask what wrist watch you are wearing in this video..?
Hey David. It’s a Heuer Autavia 👍🏼
The BBS are cool and the colour combo of the wheels really suits the car, well done. You could always put the 964 on air 💁
Yeah never thought I’d want gold anything on my car!
thanks for this, i just changed mine and this video was helpful
what tire pressure worked for you ? i have C2 , same year.
Hey there! I run 35psi rear and 33psi front. 👌🏼
Great vid ! On a narrowbody 964 i would have thought 9.5'' width at the rear was the way to go, but evidently i was wrong. Also i am not sure metal polish is very effective on clear coated surfaces like the lips of the wheels, maybe plain sealant or ceramic coating would preserve the shine longer ?
Interesting point. I did try a product like what you suggested but had limited success. I wouldn’t characterise the mothers polish as long lasting but it looks beautiful. Really gives the lips a shine.
Nice one Andy, are you running standard suspension?
Nah. KW V3 coilovers (video review coming).
Thinking of getting a set for my 997.1 GT3.
Absolutely LOVE e88's on a 997! That would look brilliant! What colour is your GT3?
@@lastrasp lapis blue. I am also wondering what offsets to use.
@@wilsonng911 get it touch with David at Butzi Gear 👌🏼
@@lastrasp Thx buddy. Will do. I also like the P4S tyres. 👍😁
@@wilsonng911 yeah I’ve been very impressed with them.
Andy, I am finally getting my E88s next month (after 6 month waiting). Cab you give some advice on cleaning them? I read that they are pretty sensitive. Tx
Yeah they are super sensitive. Don't use any of those heavy duty purple sprays. Definitely not good for the polished lips (I learned that the hard way). Otherwise I just use regular detergent and a soft wheel brush. Always have to go over it with a microfibre towel as it's very easy to miss spots. The polished lips usually need some work to really shine. I polish them with Mothers Mag and Aluminium Polish and they come up a treat.
@@lastrasp Thanks! Very helpful. Maguiars Aluminium polish is apparently also very good. Got my BBS E88s this weekend. Love them
Damn it. Why is it almost summer where you are and winter here :( Great vid' but E88 aren't allowed here in CH. Cheers! :)
There is an opportunity even for E28 (The magnesium wheel) in Germany. So it should be possible in Switzerland, too! You just have to contact the right persons😉
Oh that’s a shame! What about LM’s?
@@lastrasp LM are ok. But they are too heavy compared to the BBS racing rims.....
@@ssch4151 true enough. Look great though 👍🏼
Could i fit 18in e88s on my gbody 88 930 turbo?
Get in touch with Dave at Butzi gear. I’m not 100% certain. Believe you may need to fit e87. He’ll set you straight.
👍🏼
Did you have to change your studs? Did you roll anything ?
Hey Stephen. No need to change the studs. I didn’t need to roll either the front or rear guards.
What size barrels do you use front and rear? And what size lip?
Not actually sure about that Peter, sorry 🤷🏼♂️
Sexy fvking wheels
Haha. Yeah they are. Sometimes I look at photos of the car on Cup1’s and think about going back. But I love these too much.
