I'm now 42 born in 81, started buying house and garage vinyl at 15 years.. these tunes are my childhood so many amazing memories and goosebumps everytime, spent all my spare change at record shops (when record shops were proper) still mixing them today! Nothing compares to growing up in essex during the 90's, warehouse, bagleys, chans and the country club.. This mix is EVERYTHING.. Thank you for a trip down memory lane, excellent example of one of the best garage mixes I've heard for a long! Respect and love to all the UKG family🙏

I consider myself very lucky to have been 17 and hitting the clubs to these tunes in the UK. I was also lucky enough to grow up in Sheffield, home of Niche, Capitol / Club Zero / Republic. I was also lucky enough to be part of the Ayia Napa / Faliraki scene as well in the late 90's and early 2000's. I don't think I will ever out grow Speed Garage, UK Garage and bassline. I'm 33 now and still can't help but dance to this. All you younger peeps feeling this music restores my faith....

Still attempting to keep it goin I'm 18 an love most stuff 90's speed garage, techno, electro, house.. Still trying to keep the scene going most 90's oldskool nights in Glasgow are dead.. although there have been a few warehouse/tunnel raves mostly playing techno rather than garage etc! I get mad jealous, but at least we got a solid scene out here in Chicago. This summer tho, I'm making the pilgrimage and basking in all the house/techno excellence that Europe has to offer. Im currently 15, i didnt exactly grow up with this music but finding out about 90s electronic thru some 90s video ganes i found on an internet archive, and then i began digging into some of the origins of dubstep. Thats when i found UK garage, thru the likes of El-B and Horsepower Productions. It was an aquired taste for me, but it began to grow on me and it felt really great. After listening to this genre for a few years, my soccer obsessed brother showed me a mainstream song that somehow blew my mind. I dont often listen to mainstream music, but "One Kiss" by Calvin Harris struck a chord with me, just because it brought back that oldschool UK garage style. I feel so lucky to have the interenet with me, I get to see and hear so many obscure things that would have been so much harder to find without it. Just an FYI to yall boomers, none of yalls culture will ever die 🤘

I'm from the States, but was very fortunate to have been living in London at the time. At first, I didn't like the city as I could not find the right house clubs. I happened to stubble into some club and they were playing Speed Garage with a live MC and I was instantly blown away and hooked! Slow rolling plates, 2-step New Millennium London 2000 sounds in a club atmosphere. London skyscraper was changing fast. Everyone was lively, warm and bubbly. Dressed all nicely in old Versace and Moschino loafers I mean you can dress how you fucking want back then but just make sure it was expensive. Bouncers didn't mind if you brought in abit of that gear. Spending loads of bottles. Ladies were lovely. Last dance when your about to grab or put your coat back on and leave door but you think why not a last dance. You only saw one guy who drove up to the place with a brand BMW M3 with Angel lights, because everyone wanted a M3 and when E46 came out it was mad craze believe BMW M3s mate big ting, it would made the other persons soul like shit in his E36. That was a comfortable UK Garage lifestyle in the early Tony Blair era it's what we asked for. It was peaceful though they started I heard they had been altercations with postcode gangs. I suppose MC's wanted to keep it dark.

It's nuts to think this is 25 years old now. I feel old, I am old! Good memories of the good old days when things were better!

Absolutely banging! Takes me right back to early/mid 90's Hackney/Shoreditch/Dalston London East End underground tower block raves & the Back to The Manor club on Green Lanes.

UK Garage is the best , always coming back to this stuff after 99-2000. Nice crossover with house too, love shy

Beautiful mix, lots of happy memories. I feel sorry for the youth of today who have nothing but negativity in there music. There’s none of that in our tunes x x

Parents worked in nightclubs down south and always brought back tapes of the nights or CD promos. 25 years later this is bringing back the memories and absolute cracking mix

All the right tunes, UK Garage was big in 2003-2010 in The Netherlands (Now&Wow / Powerzone) All these tracks hit the spot and were the hits at club nights played by Joost van Bellen, DJ Gomes, Groovemaster Johnson etc.

The beginning of this mix steps through the heavenly gates of the nineties, and continues onwards as it walks upon the ruby stepping stones of time.
