A maze sequel to Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man, but this time, instead of dots, the maze consists of prizes which are locked away behind gates. There are two ways to acces the prizes. You can eat the keys which open a particular gate, and not always the gate which is closest to that key. Or you can crash through the gate after you eat a super pill and become Super Pac-Man. You are not required to eat all of the keys in order to complete the stage.
Four power pills are in maze and allow Pac-Man to turn the tables on the ghosts and eat them for a short time. When the ghosts begin to flash, time is running out and they will switch back, so beware.
New in this game is the super pill. There are two super pills in the maze which allow Pac-Man to become Super Pac-Man for a limited period of time. While in Super form, Pac-Man can crash through the maze gates, fly over the ghosts and avoid being killed (or eat them when they're blue), and travel at super speed whenever the player presses and holds the speed button. When the super power is about to run out, Pac-Man flashes white and then returns to his normal form. You can extend the duration of super time by eating a regular power pill. The super time will then be extended by the duration of the ghosts' blue time. - Hry

This is one of the most overlooked and fun games in the pac man series. I have always enjoyed this game but like Rodney Dangerfield it seems to get no respect.

So many weird mechanics in this one - ghosts that travel a little slow sometimes, or they all halt and spin. Still, I put more than a few quarters into this one - I liked how they evolved the game mechanics.
This game is at a local coffee shop in Springdale PA. Free play no quarters needed. Love it!
I was actually looking forward to seeing an hour and 46 minute game of Super Pac Man as I expected this to be a world record. Once you started cheating, I did not care anymore.

I’ll defend by saying, it’s neat seeing the monster blue time, specially unexpectedly longer blue time on the Apple board near stage 80. And the way stage 99 rows over to stage zero and stage zero continues to stage one

I remember this at the arcades as a kid. In hindsight it's kind of weird that normal Pac Man eating an energy dot is actually more powerful than Super Pac Man.

While the Super Pellet is still active, Pacman can also grab the Power Pellet to last the Super Pellet Power Up longer which is very useful!
I have this game on my Arcade 1Up Pac Man cab and its SO much fun! I don't seem to remember this in the arcade as a kid. Out of all the Pac Man spinoff games on my cab, this one, to me, is really fun to play.
Best game of all old time video games. I was very good am still am good at this game. People used to pile up watching me play at the arcade and watch me kick an ass on one quarter for about 1.5 hours- no joke.

I have an all original, one at one. It's as good as brand new. It's a 1982, I still have it set on quarters and same difficulty setting as you would find in an arcade. Galaga is next

Actually this is a great game, but because it is difficult to control since PacMan moves seems faster and not as responsive as the original, Super PacMan is not so popular as classic PacMan and Ms. PacMan.

Fun fact: this is the true sequel to Pac-Man. Mrs. Pac-Man was actually created by Pac-Man‘s American Distribution company Midway because they got impatient with Namco releasing this game
Then Namco bought up the rights to Ms. Pac-Man anyway.

This was my all time favorite "PAC MAN" game...
I had no idea that this existed until a few minutes ago. I saw a tour of a new arcade, which has 4 variants of Pacman - but not only bloody Gauntlet cabinet.
The player doesn’t seem to know how this game works. When you’re in giant super mode, you pretty much can’t die and you can eat the pink walls. You don’t even need keys when you’re super. And when you’re super and you eat a pink energizer, your super time extends. So the name of the game is to eat a green energizer, pulverize the board until you get to a pink energizer and extend your super mode...and try to spend the entire board time in super mode as you clear the board of fruit. Try to not chase blue ghosts.
Also patterns to take to finish every board … I could get a pretty high score on this … my favorite pac man game

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Japanese-American. From my age, you can tell that I didn't yet have savvy, when it came to video games, when this came out. Even at 50 in 2023, I STILL never figured out, what was the key to getting the "big points," 2000 or 5000, and that "extended bell," when you ate that center star?
The symbols on the left and the right of the star: if you eat the star when the symbols match, you get the big points.

21:25 "Big Pac Man" being chased by a billion colored ghosts. Then, a billion "normal sized" Pac-Men chasing four large, but blue ghosts.
At 12:27, all of the ghosts quaked at once. I think this happened because Pacman just barely came close to running into the ghost, but he luckily got away.
That is when the monsters change mode, scatter to chase and vice-versa.
I love this game, but i think the control would have been better if the maze had thicker walls.

I love this game.
Looks like a fun game, but I think I like the look of Ms. Pacman better, just for being simple. Still, now I can have it on eternal 'free play', I'll give it a try. Better late than never!

This game is not like 256 stages 16 Loops, 16 Rounds! It's the endless game
when i had a pacman plug and play i used to play this for HOURS. super pacman slaps. ms pacman was cool too but i cant remember the difference
i thought it was strange that in pac-man the last 2 bonus items were a key and lock and now in this game they are used as tools to get powerups. that might hint at pac-man originally having the powerups hidden behind gates thing before this game.
My top score is 141k, and I can make it to stage 13 or 14 with no cheats. I played this at a burger joint many years ago. Such an underrated game.

I play this on an emulator called mame. There are options change the amount of lives and the point intervals when they occur. I assume he's using an emulator and he turned demo mode on.

on certain mazes on pac man for ipad there is a special round where you try to eat all of the fruit as quickly as possible to get alot of score and usially at least 1 extra life

Just came out for Arcade Archives.
The version of Super Pacman that came with the Ms. pacman Countercade deletes the intermission after the mushroom maze and goes straight into the bell maze and I usually lose all my players there.
Everybody used to kick this arcade game at the Elgin skating rink because it made a bunch if squares appear on the screen for about 2 seconds.
Suddenly, you reach level 256 and the game freaks out
