When you got the paint did you just use your paint code from van? I have a similar colored k5 and I’m only wanting to do a portion in raptor and the rest in the same color paint
@@AlaskaNards yes, I took the color code into the paint supplier.
Kick ass nice work
I did my Rubicon a couple years ago. How have you addressed chips that have happened?
You sure went the extra step, and it shows . Removing all those little pieces was a good idea
What an amazing job, I love it. Thanks a bunch for taking the time to fill and explain through your materials. I got an Ford 1971 Econoline and I wasn't sure if I could do this but now I am. Thanks!
That is so classy looking now! Nicely done!
Wow. You've done incredible work on this van. I hope it rewards you with many years of service.
A really wonderful job with the painting and the documenting. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Mate....you did a great job,
all the best from the UK 🇬🇧.
Great how to vod and awesome outcome man
Looks pretty cool and tough!
@ 19:54 huge respect for that line to tie your emblems into the paint scheme!
PERFECT LINES BTW
This was extremely thorough and helpful!! Thank you for taking the time to make a video on it. We bought a 92 Econoline and are likely going to be doing the same. Appreciate all the info!
Fine job, Ideas flowing now.
Wish i had used adhesion products. Especially around edges, door handle and lower body chip prone areas. Nice video
Amazing….indeed one of the best video on raptor👏👏👏👏
Thanks for going into so many important points and lots of tips🙏🙏🙏
A lot of work.... I can't believe you didn't hammer out that dent in the front fender, you could have gotten that to look a lot better even if not perfect - Thanks for making the video, a lot of us want to do this, too - Overall it turned out real well, good job
Such a good job you should have hired a slide hammer to get the dent out of the front wing.
Looks fantastic
That’s a great classic look on your van! Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
Looks GREAT.
NIIICE JOB.
Great video. I couldn't find how long to leave it before faking the tape off, thank you, love the van
Thats beautiful 😍
Well. I had a super long and amusing comment all typed out, but then CZcams decided to jump to a commercial which caused me to click on something and go to a whole other video and it wiped out my entire comment. That really ticks me off! The gist was Jessie laughed at you calling it a sh**house and me never imagining that I would call an outhouse fancy 😆It really did turn out so pretty and I love it (yeah that sounds a little weird to say).
Yooo! That was a awesome video. I'm fully motivated to painting my van now. That product works great 👍🏿
guy I work with and his buddy are doing the Gambler 500. They are in the Herbie bug.
Very smart using trash bags, seems a lot easier then tape. Thanks!
Man your Van looks great! Nice work!!
Very thorough product and application video. Helped me a lot.
The van looks awesome great back country camping. Fishing, mtb rideing oh ya. Big Blessing 2 great adventures.
Looks amazing!
Looks good! That will definitely make for a better brush scrubber paint job.
GREAT JOB! Looks terrific.

Enjoyed your video...noticed your bi mart receipt.. and Oregon plate, the whole van life is crazy up here in Oregon. I just sold my 1990 E150 going to do this to my next VAN. thanks for your help. Im from North Bend but live in Sandy now. Great job buddy
Nice job!
Enjoyed this video.

WOW! Looks soooo much better. :)
Excellent job, bro
Great job man.
Awesome!!
Wanting to do this on my hightop g20 was just going through videos and I stumble on this. Same rig except mines 4x4 thanks for the inspiration I live the two tone!!
Also thank you for saving me all the math :)
Great video
Very Cool!
Very cool 😎 👌🏾
Sick af
I have 88 Chevy van 20 .. camper.. and that is my plan
Super nice job bro
Nice job mate ,
I did the same thing with my g30 dude!!
I need to see how you did your top. My rig needs the fiberglass top painted but the metal body of the van is good already.
Your demonstration of how you "bedlined" your vehicle is the most useful presentaion on the topic I have come across in my extensive U-tube research. Obviously, it holds a particular appeal to owners of vintage vans.
In my case, your guidance has persuaded me to modify my bedliner project.
I have decided to attempt a more subtle paint texture on my 1995 turtle-topped, extended Dodge B3500. I intended to pull the trigger on the spray painting today. However, based on your input, I have decided to do some additional sanding, increase the air compressor output and see if I can duplicate your texture results. Thanks again for your down to earth, comprehensive guidance
.
Awesome
Nice job
Nice video and paint job! Looking to do a cammo raptor liner paint on a 2001 Jeep XJ.
Wow! Looks Great :-)
Dang! What a difference! Love the details and I bet it’s going to prove to be a more durable surface.👍🏼
Great video! Could you post the what and where for the shelter you used for your van? I have a 1986 RAM B250 and will need a good shelter for her as I work on her. Thank you!
Looking sharp! The work on the grill really paid off. I had to rewatch the after footage to notice the front driver fender damage. When do we get to see some camping?
Thanks! Leaving in the morning for the Gambler 500 👍 doing 3 days off road from the desert to the coast.
@@DonnieDispersed Wow!
Nice
Thank you for this video, man. I have an '88 GMC Vandura with flaking and weathered paint and was looking for a cost-effective solution to give it a fresh look. This is fantastic to me because you basically have the same van. Thanks again and sick van!
It's been two years since you uploaded this video. Great job! How is it holding up under use?
N - I - I - I - I - I - I - I - I - I - I - I - C - E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great work! How long did this take you? Couple weeks?
Phenomenal paint job. I am getting ready to do my van a tan raptor color and black for the front and rear numbers. The lower portion of the van wheel area will be black all the way down. May I ask why you waited an hour and then 3 days? I have seen a few videos where they wait 20 minutes and apply a second coat. Were 3 days necessary before you started the blue coat? Great looking van. It shows you took your time.
I waited an hour between each coat. And three days before the blue so the white would completely cure before I put tape on it. Just played it safe.
Great video! Exactly what I was looking for, what kind of compressor did you use for the spraying?
Husky I think it’s a 30 gal
Hey! Very helpful video! My wife and I will be raptor lining our '73 chevy van 20 (looks just like this, with the topper as well!) and we are curious as to how many cans of primer you ended up using? Thanks!
I think I used about 3 cans of primer 👍
Awesome job man! I'm getting ready to do my Ram 2500. What size compressor did you use?
Thanks! 30 gallon
Turned out nice, just wondering have you been camping down by the river in that Van?
Amazing transformation. Would you mind sharing the color code for the blue? I have a kei truck I wanna cover and this color is amazing! Thanks
Can’t recall the code. But the color is GM “Light Blue Metallic”
Love this. Thanks for all the tips. One question, how do you remove the side emblems? It looks like 3 holes, do they have nuts on the inside?
Mine did have bolts
Oh my this is the same camper van i just got is yours a 1990 dodge ram wagon?
I have the same van in the same color. I’m wanting to do the same thing you did. How many kits did you use for the entire van ?
Thanks for showing that you can match the OEM color. Now my options are limitless... thought I was going to have choose from black, green, or tan. So how has the white held up? I heard that color gets dingy over time?!
Looks fine so far. I just blast it with a pressure washer and it gets clean really easily.
I do not know why it's so hard to find videos on why or why not to use rhino lining I think be helpful even if it's just to show why not.
Thanks for the great video. Alot of work put into the video, let alone the paint job. Thanks for taking the time to do it! I have a 1989 G20 and I'm interested in the type of headlights you have. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
They are from United Pacific. I got them on amazon amzn.to/3zrdI4z
@@DonnieDispersed thanks for the reply! How long have you had them? Any issues? Pros/cons? Found your channel this morning looking up raptor liner. Going to do my van as well. Subscribed!
@@finball70 I’ve had them for a few months now. I love them. The low beam projector has a great beam cutoff and the high beam reflector lens is very bright especially for halogen bulbs. I tried some led bulbs in the projectors and they weren’t nearly as good as the halogens they came with.
@@finball70 I did have to modify the headlight buckets a little to make them fit. But it only took a couple mins with some tin snips.
@@DonnieDispersed cool, thanks!
I was curious how the Raptor Liner has held up over the last two years. Any rust, chips or cracking? Thanks
the lower the number grit is coarser or is it the other way around?
what if I wanted to sand off the raptor liner or do a touch up?
Oh no! What have you done to your van?
Excellent video! How did you calculate how much color to suck up with the syringe?
It’s in the instructions. 3oz of tint per liter of bedliner.
I have the same van. Do you know where to get the seals for the camper top?
How many bottles did you use?
Nice job. I've been thinking about raptor painting my white Vixen camper van but was concerned about how easy it is to keep the white part of the body clean. Do you wash it like you would a normal car? Does the dirt cling to the textured surface more than it would a smooth surface? How has the finish weathered over the last two years? And finally, any impact on gas mileage?
I’ve since sold the van, but it was easy to clean. Just used an electric pressure washer. Can’t say I noticed a difference in mpg.
Why not use a body filler to get rid of that dent in the fender?
so you used a total of 8 quarts to do entire van, except the roof ?
WOW. That looks like a NEW van!
Have you noticed any insulating effects since doing this?
