Today i started having trouble launching the game with the plugin loader, but managed to launch the game by removing a file called d3d11_org.dll and renaming d3d11.dll to that file name
I'm running Windows 10 Pro version 20H2 OS build 19042.685. If people are having issues with the loader not working, they may have to go into the properties for each downloaded file and make sure in the attributes section the files aren't blocked by the OS. I had to check unblock on all downloaded files before running for the first time to get it to work. Just wanted to give a heads up on this issue.
Update the plugin loader does no longer work for me, when i run the game with d3d11.dll the game closes after the borderlands logo and creates a new file called d3d11_org.dll that are greater in size. The game will only run if there is no d3dll.dll file in the win64 folder. I also tried just launching the hotfix merger manually but none of my mods take effect. Edit: I now mannaged to get the hotfix merger working manually by running it as administrator but still can't get the plugin loader to work.

for anyone having trouble with this, you have to stay under the modded amount of hotfixes (9500 something) for the game to not break itself. i had to go into the game files, find my preset folder for the hotfix manager, and manually remove some mods off of that list
What can I say ? you are a legend my dude I wanted really to try mods for this game but I have no idea about how to add mods in any game you did help a lot and it was clear and glad you did show how or where this and that file etc etc thank you so much

Hellz yes! I haven't modded a game since Fallout 2 (yea that old) in the friggin 90's. Borderlands is awesome and I just heard about this new Borderlands 3 Unofficial Community Patch, by shadowevil. Now that you showed me (an idiot from the past) the links and the programs to do it, I am gonna mod the crap outta BL3. Thanks for showing an old dog new tricks!
I didn't get the tray icon when I launched BL3; but I just ran B3HM from the download files, then right-clicked the B3HM icon and opened the WebUI from there. Hope that helps anyone with the same issue. I have the game on Epic, so that might be why.

Weird, mine stopped working. It crashes my game as soon as the map tries to load. I tried reinstalling everything, validating files, restarting computer, no luck. I tried downloading and installing VCRedist and restarting my computer, but I don't know where I'm supposed to download the files. (I tried Binaries, Win64, Plugins, etc.) Oh also, some time ago Apoc told me it's better to use local paths instead of github links if you have the space on your PC. His exact choice of words was "Why introduce network calls which might fail?"

So for some reason the tutorial worked until I got to the manager tab in my browser. It won't add my mods and for some reason the prompt "WebSocket disconnected! Be patient until you see text in the logs." is at the top of my screen. I've had it on in the the background with the game open for some time now and it still won't add my mods. Does it have to do with my browser or did I just do something wrong?
When I click "Open WebUI" It does nothing. What is going on? I have the plugins in the plugins folder and it's still not working. I have the redist. files and it still isn't working.
So it's not working for me. When I load the game first and click open webui, the webui does not register that the game is loaded. It is stuck on 'waiting for borderlands3.exe'. So mods don't install. However if I load the webui before booting up the game, for some reason Epic thinks that the webui is the game itself, and says the game is running, When it is not. If I try open the game via BL3 shortcut, the game does not open at all, then I try a second time, Epic then appears with an error 'Game is already running'. Has anyone has this issue and overcome it? Help please my dudes.

Hey there, thanks for the tutorial. Does this also works in the Directors Cut version of the game? I did everything as you told but there are no changes happening in the game. Yes, I also loaded back to the splash screen and the log on the webpage also looked fine (Thinks like that it found the BL3.exe and injected the dll into it and so on). But on the top of my Webpage it says in red "WebSocket disconnected! Be patient until you see text in the logs." And I do not know which logs it is referring to or where I should wait. In BL2 you also had to wait in the main menu for a bit until executing the mods so maybe it works similar, but again, I do not know where I am supposed to wait. Thank you for your help!
I can't access the Add Local Path button because the Log window appears to be in the way. Is this a resolution issue, on my end? I've tried it with both Firefox and Edge, so far. .............. Scrolling out with Ctrl and Mousewheel resolved the issue. W007, got it working!

Thank you! it still works in 2024 and with DirectX12 :) I used that to make the HUD smaller.. somehow they removed that option from when I last played the game couple years ago. default 1.0 size HUD is just way too big
im getting like 1 million eridium per drop. I am pretty sure I didn't download a mod related to that. Is there a way to check what may be causing this?
Edit to a totally different question: My guardian rank number is the same but the offense tree jumped up to 10,000, and vehicle damage jumped to max for some reason? Could that be a byproduct of a mod? It seems to be linked to my my character save as well, since replacing with an old profile does nothing.

Hiya! Everything I have tried so far works for me with the exception of "Runtime Randomizer" to make all weapon parts/prefixes swappable at random. Instead of a text file loading up to put into the webUI, it forces a download which cant be opened. Is there a way to solve this?
You can either: "Right Click -> Copy Link" on the `Download From Github` button and use that. Instead of doing that you can also download it and then do "Add Local Path" and select the downloaded version!

make sure you run whatever program you are using to extract the files as administrator (right click "run as administrator"). Just being the administrator isn't always enough
I was able to get everything to work and play with a friend online, but we can't play with the weapon randomizer since the file is to large for raw view. It instead downloads the file and had to load it by local path, but that doesn't work for playing with others. Anyone have a way to still use the mod with friends?
Weapon randomizer doesn't work with coop (presumably) because the game literally can't store the information about the gun in order to tell your friend about it
im probably stupid, but how do I open the links for the mods without winrar trying to download them as a compressed file or IDM trying to download it as well, cause whenever I try to open the links from the Mod cabinet to get the URL for the hotfix merger, it just downloads the whole file instead. Update: Not solved, but I just work around it by right clicking and copying link address instead

Hi! I've followed all the steps to the letter but when I open the webui I get this "WebSocket disconnected! Be patient until you see text in the logs." And the logs below never load up. I copied the files in the Steamapps>common>Borderlands 3>Oak Game>Binaries>Win 64 and I have already installed the vc redist. What could I have done wrong?
I'm a bit confused as to how to use the injector, do i just put the files where you said and it should work fine? I'm on linux so thats probably messing with things but running the exe in wine seems to work so I'm hopeful for the injector so it can be done automatically
The injector won't really work with WINE cause I have to proxy DX11 which I doubt will work under wine, if you want an alternate way, read through: borderlandsmodding.com/bl3-running-mods/. Glad to hear the exe works though!

so cards on the table, i've got a repack, it works fine, the plug-ins, webu UI all work fine but i get stuck on the sign in page because it's not connected to an account because of the repack any ideas?

Make sure that you've launched the game, I would double check you went through all the steps Make sure you have at least this installed aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe You possibly need to reboot your pc afterwards

Is it possible to get zombie mod - all enemies are psychos and there are a lot more enemies? and is it possible to get spawn randomizer without any other randomize.
the one mod ive wanted is starting a new playthrough at level 1 in mayhem mode, i went through the mods and i didnt see one for that. is it even possible to mod that in? Oh and is it safe to play in COOP with someone who has the same modlist? will we get banned for it?
Borderlands doesn't have any anti-cheat (though obviously don't just be a prick and join random people) Some mods might not work in coop, just depends on the mod

My virus detection keeps preventing me from downloading the Hotfix Merger. I've tried disabling my security check, but nothing works.

i am 2 years too late, if you use brave try disabling the shield and it should connect

the plugin folder dosnt want to convert to an INI file like yours does. it keeps giving me a fatal error when i start up the game

Should be fixed now. I've submitted the file(s) to Microsoft and they removed the detection.

love the tutorial and the startup movies are skipped, so that's fine, but I can't get the 3rd person mod to work atm. I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
Also, can I choose when to launch the HFM, by installing it outside of the game folder?
Hi! I've followed all the steps to the letter but when I open the webui I get this "WebSocket disconnected! Be patient until you see text in the logs." And the logs below never load up. I copied the files in the Steamapps>common>Borderlands 3>Oak Game>Binaries>Win 64 and I have already installed the vc redist. What could I have done wrong?

I'm a bit confused as to how to use the injector, do i just put the files where you said and it should work fine? I'm on linux so thats probably messing with things but running the exe in wine seems to work so I'm hopeful for the injector so it can be done automatically
The injector won't really work with WINE cause I have to proxy DX11 which I doubt will work under wine, if you want an alternate way, read through: borderlandsmodding.com/bl3-running-mods/. Glad to hear the exe works though!

This is the message I get when trying to use this, nothing is appearing in the log and I can't add anything. I've used this already but its not working?

so cards on the table, i've got a repack, it works fine, the plug-ins, webu UI all work fine but i get stuck on the sign in page because it's not connected to an account because of the repack any ideas?
did this get changed? everytime I try to load hotfix merger it just says websocket disconnected wait will text pops up
i followed steps and manage to install hotfixes etc but websocket not connecting even when game is running. i restart my pc after install and i have installed Visual C++ in my pc. Any other tips how could make this work. i'm using win 10
I may be doing it wrong but the receive items tab does nothing for me, i get nothing at all.
i thought i had done everything prior to add my mods correctly, but i'm getting a "websocket disconnected" error and the url of the mod i want doesn't show up in my hotfix paths? did i mess something up or is this a known issue?
Make sure that you've launched the game, I would double check you went through all the steps
Make sure you have at least this installed

You possibly need to reboot your pc afterwards

If you mean the web ui, no. The web ui is only used to add a file to be merged. The merger itself will run in the background and has to stay on.

The redux mod can be accessed thru the mod cabinet as a hot fix. Now doing it offline im not sure

Borderlands doesn't have any anti-cheat (though obviously don't just be a prick and join random people)
Some mods might not work in coop, just depends on the mod
My computer thinks the B3HM file is a virus so it wont install. How do I fix this?
