  • Watch us plant a couple of trees. I give a commentary of planting trees, the issues we had, mainly the water hose and a bit of a talk on the weather with drought, frost and bushfires.
If you don't want to listen to me that is fair enough, turn the sound down as there is no other sound with this video.

After this lot we did not stuff around. We just cut the plastic cover on the tree, water the hole, stuck the tree in the ground, water it again, maybe fertilise it, and that’s it.
This method seems to work as the trees planted are alive and are not sticks in the ground.

Steady rain is falling on the orchard today. It is very welcomed. A security camera connected to the Internet overlooks part of the orchard and I often look at the view from my city home.
We had a lot of rain on the last day of planting. Planting the last trees was very difficult in the rain and very muddy. However it was a blessing to have steady rain shortly after planting hundreds of trees.

A bit of a kink in the hose, classic 😅😅

Yeah that is what we get using cheap garden hose. Its a never ending struggle with these hoses. However its better than the alternative of carrying water in containers. We now have a tractor that is capable of towing the water trailer up and down hills. For the last planting we used a shorter hose and moved the trailer as we planted the trees. Its easier to manage the hoses this way but does necessitate buying a $40K tractor.
