I can't thank you enough! I am looking for inexpensive crafts I can do in bed. I have been bedridden for two years. This looks inexpensive and amazing. The feeling I get when I create something is wonderful, because I feel so unproductive in bed, I worked so hard when I was working...so it gives me a bit of my self worth back. Thank you :)

Julie Kent Thank you so much! Your comment just made my day. It means so much to me to hear that others are benefiting from my tutorials. I'm so sorry to hear that you are bedridden. I can't imagine how hard that must be. I love that you are keeping yourself busy. I would love to see any of your fairy (or other) creations. If you would like to share pictures, I am on Instagram #untidyartist. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a kind comment. Happy crafting!

  • @UntidyArtist

I had a lot of people ask why i don't add faces to them. This is a great question! I don't put a face on my fairy dolls because I haven't found a way to do the face that I like better than just leaving them plain. It leaves more to the imagination. With that said, you are welcome to put a face on the doll. I have seen some done with sharpie pens and acrylic paint. It is totally up to you! I use a 3/4 inch size bead that has a 1/8 inch hole. I am in the process of figuring out a few different ways to do wings for the fairy dolls. I will probably do a tutorial just for fairy wings. Watch for it! Thank you for all of your questions and for taking the time to leave a comment. Happy crafting!

    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
So when I was a little girl, this was probably around 1998/99, my mom was manager at a Joannes and was literally the craft QWEEEN. She would bring home different art supplies and crafts all the time and had a closet filled with every supply you could ever need for any craft, sewing, painting, woodmaking, beading, scrapbooking. You name it, we had it. That year my older sister was gifted this neat little intricate craft kit that made these exact little flower fairy dolls that she would let me help her make while we watched Britney Spears music videos together on our beanbag chairs...an extremely early childhood memory of mine that I hold very close to me. Anyways, they looked exactly exactly spot on, JUST like these, the kit used this exact technique for everything, yarn hair, little wooden bead heads, twine wire and little plastic leaves and flowers for the dress. The heads only had 2 little black dotted with eyes painted on them. I've searched all over the internet and can't for the life of me find the craft kit or anything like it. I remember it was a really nice craft set, a more sophisticated kit that was definitely geared towards teens or young adults, that came in a cool tin box and had enough supplies to probably make at least 10 different looking little fairies. Anyways I really wanted to find this craft to gift to my sister almost 20 years later but can't find it anywhere, so if anyone knows what in the world I'm talking about or can find it please let me know

These are beautiful, thanks for sharing. I made my first fairy yesterday before I had seen this and I like your ideas. I used a pipe cleaner which is ok but I like the idea of the floss to get the skin tone and body suit. I will be making more!
