I LOVE Pantene and have used it all of my adult life. My stylist thinks I use shampoo from the salon and always comments about the wonderful condition of my hair. Take that, haters!! đ
Whatâs your hair type?
How funny, because at least three stylists have told me Pantene products are bad. Lol. I use it once in awhile and my hair was in great shape. I have several shampoos and conditioners in the shower, none of them were bought at a salon. They work well for me. I agree with Dr Dray, salons want to sell you their expensive products. I can't justify paying the over the top prices.
Same here. Any time I tell them itâs Pantene they argue how bad for my hair it is. When I let them think I use salon hair care they think my hair is great lol
Abbey Yung has changed the way people think about drug store products like Pantene. Her channel has blown up.
We had Pantene in the house growing up and it was fine for hair. I stopped using it as a young adult because it was irritating the skin on the back of my neck. I'm sure the newer formulations are different. I think it's probably a little too drying for my hair type and skin, though.
âMatchy, matchyâ lol đ you crack me up!! Youâre one of my favorites on CZcams!
Thank you for addressing the Pantene shaming. I have been using Pantene shampoo off & on since I was in my teens (I am 63) and have always loved it. In the '70s they offered a thickening shampoo that knocked it out of the park. Their Volume and Body formula is an excellent clarifying formula and a long time favorite. Love your channel, Dr. Dray!
Iâve never heard that shampoo is for the scalp & conditioner for the strands. Nice! You also gave me permission to go back to drugstore products. Save so much money!
Pantene is great. Another good thing about these bottles is you can easily peel off the labels and use the empty pump bottles for other things... I use one for dish soap in the kitchen.
I cannot thank you enough for this hack lol. Idk whatâs wrong with me but lifting big bottles of the soap in the exact motion one uses when utilizing itâŠreally hurts my shoulder joint. This will help with that!
yes i love this comment! my mom is super old school especially when it comes to reusing things. she always put coco butter lotion in empty body wash or shampoo pump bottles. the best is the neutrogena rainbath bottle cuz you can fit so much lotion đ
@@lasantuzza777 I just got one of those and itâs scented đ« and I hate the scent but I love how giant the bottle is lol! So I look forward to re-using it!
Great video!! BTW, Costco is wonderful for returns including shampoos and face products. Thanks once again for sharing your informed advice.
Great idea đ
So true about shampoo...I have used bottles that were twenty bucks and bottles that were five bucks and hair was the same ...the price doesn't matter what matters is you are using the correct shampoo for your hair and scalp
Try 200 bucks, it really makes a difference
@@estoyBiegando lol would never spend that much on a shampoo ridiculous I just found one for $6.50 and my hair has never ever looked better..Palmer's Olive Oil Shampoo works great!
Love Panteneâs Volume and Body shampoo. Itâs clarifying and gives crazy volume.
What great timing, I was just thinking of switching my products and felt overwhelmed by all the options
SameâŠ.
I have been dying to find a new shampoo and conditioner so THANK YOU! Also happy Tuesdayđ„°
Love it! Thanks, Dr. Dray!â€
Thank you for this video, I needed it! â€ïž
Dr.Dray my hair dresser told me years and years ago that Pantene has Panthenol in it, which she claims is also used to put the shine on bowling bowls. I kind of got away from it after that but, your video has made me a Pantene believer again. Thank you so much for how open, honest , and educated you are about those topics you review. I also love your sense of humour especially when you may not notice it in yourself!!
lol
Panthenol is just vitB5 and is also used in skincare a lot. i don't understand how this is a negative thing.
And if it also adds shine to bowling bowls...well then good for them, i say shine on!
Loving the L'Oreal Ever Pure hair masque! â€â€ Thank you so much for the recommendation, Dr. Dray!! đâ€
I LOVE your videos! So helpful!
Dr. Dray always comes through!!!
Thanks! I placed the LâOrĂ©al mask in my cart!
The L'oreal is new! I always buy from that line off and on for many years and this is the first I've seen this one. Excited to try.
I have super long wavy hair, I LOVE The Eva NYC Therapy session hair mask (pink one)! I recommend it to so many people and they love it! I hope you try it! It has such a lovely smell too, thank you always for your video Dr.Dray!đ€©
Thank you, Dr. Dray! I have colored treated hair and was always told to get salon shampoos and conditioner because its better for the hair, but i can't really afford that at the moment. So thank you for this video!
Thanks for this, Dr Dray. I love trying new hair products. A weakness of mine. I love the Loreal hair mask and also the shampoo and conditioner in the same formula. Moisturizing but doesn't weigh my hair down. I've used Pantene off and on for years. I've always liked it and never had any problems with it. I also like Dove hair products. Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a peaceful evening. đ
Iâm like that too. Need the same scent of shampoo and conditioner
The only time I donât do that is when Iâm using a clarifying shampoo before using a deep hair mask twice a month.
I loved your comments on Pantene. I used to use it all the time, but I haven't for a few years now. The symptoms that you mentioned align with my current needs, so I definitely want to try these recommendations! Thank you!
Thanks Dr. Dray ! I think I would like to try either the Dove or the Pantene conditioner due to my hx of having dry hair. In addition, for the last 2 months, I have always been wearing a UPF 50 hat. I originally was using a hat to protect the skin . However, I have been researching the effects of UV on the hair and have noticed a difference in my hair being a lot less dry since wearing a hat. Hope you and all Houstonians stay safe !
Iâm looking for new shampoo & conditioner yes I need matchy match. I do have colour treated hair so this has really helped with my choice. I find Iâm always looking for Dr Dray recommendations from hair to toes and everything in between. We are lucky and blessed to have you. Thx so much Dr Dray for all you do.
I bought the L'oreal hair mask. Ive only used it once, but I really like it. Thanks for the recommendation đ·
Thaank you! Please, if you would, do more haircare and drugstore/budget hair care videos. Itâs so hard to find trustworthy information in this field.
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this â€ïž

About Pantene: I used to use Pantene years (decade) ago. Left hair very manageable and was affordable. Moved away from it as more and more shampoos came out (and being from Asia....there are tons of brands from Asia, esp Japan, that are really good) and many people kept bashing Pantene and its silicon content or whatever it was people hated about it. And somehow, I just stopped buying it.
Years later, I kept having issues with finding a good shampoo that didn't leave my hair rough, hay like, and super unmanageable. Even for middle-length hair, it was tough. I think it has to do with all the removal of silicon, parabens n whatever it is people are against in the last decade. Even the Asian shampoos started to have the same issue and made my hair really bad.
Randomly, my dad bought a cheap bottle of shampoo for himself and mine just happen to run out. So, I didn't quite look and just took some and used it. Lo and behold! my hair! The shampoo washed off easily and left no residue and it made my hair so smooth and manageable! I was so surprised. And I realized it was a Pantene shampoo! It felt better than the super overpriced Aveda one that I had just finished up. Still, I delayed getting a Pantene. I went and got a few other popular shampoos but guess what? I couldn't get over the fact that my hair felt so good, airy and luscious after using that Pantene just once and none of the new ones made my hair feel better. And so, I still went out to get myself a bottle of Pantene. I couldn't get the exact one, but I got one that was similar. The texture was a little different, but it worked almost as well. And the price can't be beat! Oh, and also, my scalp doesn't itch much anymore too. I suspect it might be that it wasn't as sensitive and drying to my scalp, but who knows...
I use Loreal Clarifying shampoo, too. I love it! Great for removing product build up from hair.
I've been using the Shea Moisture anti-dandruff shampoo for about 3 years now, I use it once a week. I love it. I don't have dandruff and no longer suffer from an itchy scalp. Thank you for the info on a clarifying shampoo. I just put the Dove clarifying shampoo and conditioner in my Walmart cart. It's new apparently. I'll definitely try the new Dove Scalp hydration care line as well. Thanks so much for your informative videos!!!
Dr. Dray, what mascara are you using today? You're lashes look fantastic. đ
lol the matching I thought I was the only one I have to do that too !
Just bought some Pantene hydrating glow shampoo and conditioner. It makes my color treated, coarse, frizzy hair feel wonderful
From Target, I tried Odele air dry styler, which conditions hair as a leave in. I canât use conditioner in the shower unless I want to start dry shampooing a few hours later. My baby fine hair is more finicky than some cats with their food. I was nervous to try it, but fell in love with it. My hair always feels like silk & shines after use plus my air dried hair is less frizzy. For higher end shampoo I had a deluxe size Philip B peppermint & avocado shampoo in my Walmart Christmas advent calendar (all beauty products). Omg! It became my ride or die shampoo. The peppermint smell is strong but I like that scent. My hair has bounce ALL day & my hair finally lifts from the roots without teasing it. It doesnât quit on me. I have been lucky to find it at Marshallâs for $10 a bottle since Xmas. Philip B also has Maui Wowie beach mist. I use it to add extra volume occasionally instead of mousse. doesnât weigh my hair down ever. love that product. I bought the anti-frizz oil too but havenât tried it yet. Rene Furterer has the dream dry shampoo I never thought existed but itâs $39 so unless itâs gifted to me or I can find it at a TJ Maxx, I wonât buy it. Dry shampoo goes quick on 2nd day updos for me. Itâs the only one that impressed me though. Arkive has a nice treatment mask that I recently tried from a beauty box.
Prell has always been an excellent clarifying shampoo.
I use the LâOrĂ©al Silver Care shampoo and conditioner. Itâs lovely! My hairdresser always asks if I need more shampoo from her salon, but I always say â no thanksâđ
Ohh is that for gray hair ? I need something to keep the gray brighter and tame some of the yellow. I just found ever pure purple shampoo and conditioner . Might have to try
@@akhiker01 Yes, it is. I have silver and white hair and I love the way it feels. It can be used daily. I did buy the purple shampoo from the hairdresser before, but itâs pricy. Just a matter of personal preference.
@@jeanphilpot350 i just bought the ever pure LâOrĂ©al silver care shampoo and conditioner for daily care and the ever pure purple shampoo and conditioner 2-3 times a week . Iâm excited to try both and price wasnât to bad . đđ»đđ»đđ»
I use ION Clarifying Treatment from
Sally's Beauty Supply.
Removes mineral
and styling build up.
Effective and reasonable price.
I really appreciate scent commentary. I am so sensitive to fragrance and can get a migraine from shampoo scent lingering on my hair. I just tried Amika frizz treatment from my FabFitFun box and it was so horrible. I had to wash my hair twice afterwards just to get rid of that scent.
I'm currently loving the Monday moisture shampoo and conditioner. I'm AA with curly/coily hair. The products leave my hair soft, smooth and hydrated. I would warn folks that the products do contain hydrolyzed rice protein. It's apparently what my hair needs right now
Thank you for the Pantene recommendation. I have tried many volumizing and clarifying shampoos to help my find hair not be wicked down, but then my hair dye is gone so quick. I have been liking the Garnier shampoo with niacinamide, but it is SO STRONGLY scented.
I am testing a lot of hair care lately and what stood out for me the most is Pantene volume shampoo, elvive bond repair leave in serum and elvive miracle water.
I havenât used Pantene in probably 10 years - it made my hair feel funky - but I may try it again. I am loving Dove shampoo & conditioner right now.
Hi Dr Dray! Thank you for your channel and for generously sharing your knowledge with us. Curious whether you have covered the topic of color depositing shampoos and conditioners before (didn't see any videos in a quick CZcams search)? I have strawberry blonde hair that is becoming increasingly white, and while I always thought I wouldn't mind, my complexion looks more "washed out" than I expect to look when I go to the mirror these days, partly, I think, due to the white hairs and partly because I have become a daily sunscreen wearer, so fewer freckles as well. I've been told that white hair is different than gray hair when it comes to trying color, but I can't really tell if this is true when I try to research the topic. And I really can't tell if these products would be worth trying. Overtone products have been recommended, but I'm scared to try them without knowing more about how they work. Thanks!
According to my colorist, the EverPure line is great for color treated hair and the ingredients are less likely to cause damage to the hair which may include slight changes to the color over time.
I have shorter (just above shoulders) hair and I definitely need conditioner because it is frizzy! When I'm in drier climates than Houston I still use a conditioner, but I find I need less of other products.
I love the Ever Pure line! At least the ones I've tried. I have the bond strengthener set and the clarifying set.
That is good to know. The Biolage Color Last shampoo that I have always used for my color treated hair, is now a whopping $26.00 for 13.5 ozs. where I live. ( and that was 3 months ago). Canât continue using at that price.
I use to love Loreal Evercreme shampoo and conditioner but I haven't been able to find it in a long time so I think it may be discontinued đ
Hi Dr Dray I get dry scalp it might be my psoriasis coming back.I found a generic of the Neutrogena. T gel that I used to use it seems to help.I also have used Pantene always loved it. I use Prell but they stopped making the conditioner not sure why. I hace used a lot of shampoos never used salon shampoo.I just can't justify spending that much. Loce your channel I've been watching for a few months. Thanks love all your Videos
That line is not gf though FYI.
Clicked so fast! Happy Tuesday Dr. Dray!
Morning!
Happy to see Shea on your list. Since I started using Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate & Repair, I've stopped using conditioner even though I bought their conditioner at the same time. The shampoo alone leaves my hair soft and smooth. I do run a little leave-in something-- argan oil, Bed Head Afterparty, Frizz Ease-- through the lengths of my hair after I shampoo to help detangle. My scalp is not very oily, so I only shampoo once a week.
The Loreal clarifying shampoo you show! Is wonderful it has been able to clean out the rest of my dandruff and clean my scalp. Wonderful! It's a fresh scent. Yes it's the best clarifying shampoo and conditioner I've ever used!! I've purchased it twice and have had no problems!
I love your reviews and shop with me videos. Thereâs so many choices at the drugstore and your videis really help me to pick good products.
Products that Iâve been using and enjoying currently: LâOrĂ©al hyaluron plump shampoo/conditioner, aveeno apple cider vinegar clarifying shampoo and the Pantene miracle rescue mask. â€
Would love to see you do this type of video with drugstore body washes.
She's got a few videos on drugstore body care/body washes.
Very helpful video Dr. Dray!!
Glad it was helpful!
i also just took a gamble and bought that pantene from costco and its great! ive been looking for a strawberry scented conditioner with coconut oil, its great and a great price!
Since i don't have long hair i use only shampoo and not a conditioner. I have been using the Syoss pure fresh micellar shampoo. It's a nice clear transparent gel and has a nice scent. The Pantene strawberry coconut shampoo and conditioner sure got me hooked đâ€. Thanks for sharing them with us Doctor Andrea â€.
I use Dove ultra care shampoo! I also use dove sensitive skin body wash, The shampoo has coconut and almond oil, The body wash just has light almond oil!
I found Odele Ultra Sensitive Shampoo from Target and it has no fragrance and works really well for my hair type!
I'm trying to get away from buying Nioxin. My scalp and hair are dry. So my colorist highly recommended it. It's expensive. So on a whim I purchased the brand Native shampoo and conditioner. I haven't tried it yet, attempting to finish up the Nioxin first. I've had several people tell me to try Native. I hope it works. I only shampoo 2x weekly, because of the dry scalp/hair combo. Keeping my fingers crossed đ€ I will definitely try the masque you recommended â€
I can STRONGLY endorse the product called âMondayâ. Specifically the moisture conditioner. Comes in a solid peach colored bottle with a pump. I get it at Ralphâs/Kroger. Makes my hair smooth without being weighed down.
I've been considering trying that one, since they started selling it here in Europe too. I'm just wondering if it would be good for fine hair as well?
Itâs lovely
I tried the shampoo of this and noticed increased hair shedding and dryness (I have virgin hair, no heat usage)
@@LegendMadison yes the reviews for it in my country are not great.
When my hair was straight (before menopause) and it was cut short, I didn't use conditioner. Now that my hair is curly/wavy, I do typically use conditioner even when it is a little shorter b/c I notice my strands are much dryer now. I also have to get them in sets, the shampoo and matching conditioner. đI agree that the drugstore has some really good shampoos and conditioners and you don't have to spend a fortune. L'Oreal has some of the best shampoo/conditioner products. I love everything I have tried in the EverPure line.
I would love to hear your thoughts, as well as anyone elseâs, on water filters for your shower head. Thank you for another great video.
Happy Tuesday, Dr. Drayâ€
Same to you!
Happy Tuesday Dr DrayâŠ.see you tomorrow xđđ€©
I've found Nizoral shampoo & conditioner the best at itch control compared to Vanicream & your Dove recommendations. And it smells great! The conditioner isn't medicated but is formulated to balance whatever the medicated shampoo is unbalancing. My hair feels great after.
Pantene is my favorite drugstore brand. Love it!!!
I love shampoo which leaves good scent in my hair
There is a new skincare line called Prequel, for people with skin conditions. Looks intriguing and they also show the PH level for their mineral sunscreen. Iâm going to be trying out their redness lotion and sunscreen.
I appreciate your content so much, your my favourite Dr, thank you đ I binged watched your videos the other morning from 7am until after lunch time, I appreciated the shopping trips paired with the expert knowledge đ with love from Scotland xx
Why can't Dove and L'Oreal go fragrance free? At least release a fragrance free version of their existing hair products. It's frustrating that there is nothing other than Vanicream at the drugstore price point.
I dont think the market is big enough for Unilever or LâOrĂ©al brands but definitely a place where a smaller brand could get a good customer base.
My scalp can get easily irritated with many scented products. I use several fragrance free shampoo's - the Vanicream shampoo/conditioner. The Attitude Oatmeal/Sensitive Shampoo and Prairie Naturals Arctic Sun - all of these products are fragrance free đ„° I have color treated hair.
Most people enjoy a scented shampoo which is probably why there is a lack of fragrance free shampoo. Plus it doesnât stay on your skin itâs rinsed off so it might not bother many people.
Fragrance bothers "this most people" so I definately relate to wanting fragrance free versions of products. There are those of us out here (unfortunately) that DO get migraines easily when exposed to fragrances.
Yeah, Iâve seen ppl complain that the shampoo didnât have enough fragrance. Itâs these ppl that ruin it for everyone else. Fragrance isnât healthy & ppl just donât understand.
I love L'oreal masks. I have been using the L'Oreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Power Restore Multi-Use Treatment for years, but I don't like that it is too scented, so I am curious about the one you are recommending.
Hi Dr Dray, good morning! Thank you for this video. Do you think the Loreal hair mask can keep my frizz away in a humid weather? I will be in India in a tropical coastal climate this Summer, and I can definitely see my hair doing Medusa.
I have short hair but definitely need conditioner. I use hot tools and the conditioner helps with damage. I can definitely feel the difference if I don't use it. I'm like you, my conditioner has to match my shampoo
Kristin Ess is another drugstore hair line (at least at Target) with a fragrance free line.
Also at Ulta
I love Kristin Ess. My favorite hair product. Best overall shampoo & condition I've ever tried.
The kristin ess working serum for your ends is amazing.
I love Suave!
I bought that hair mask & loooove it for my curly hair.
I love Pantene and buying it at Costco makes my wallet very happy. But honestly, I've only experienced negative effects from 2 products in my long life: Prell shampoo, which stripped my hair and the original very blue-green Head & Shoulders in the 70s, which also stripped my hair and tinted it green (I was a light-haired kid). My silvery hair is very dry now, so I recently started using jojoba oil on it, so a cleansing shampoo once a week might be a great idea, thanks!
One of the BEST fragrance free shampoo and conditioners is by Hairitage and itâs the down to the basics line!!! It is free of sulfates phthalate paraben silicone gluten mineral oil . Most fragrance free lines are so drying but this one, as long as you use the conditioner, is very good!
Hi Dr. Dray! What about dry shampoo/conditioner bars? And shampoo ginger lily plants?
Loved seeing your latest es faves! Hey; are you using Vaseline all over your face and chest. Iâve just been noticing as of late that you seem shinier in your videosâșïž
Shares the L'Oréal hair masque with my hairdresser. She was thrilled with the product over expensive salon products.
Dr Dray is super intelligent. Intelligent men admire intelligent women n not just beautiful women. đ
I am still loving my prose shampoo and conditioner for my long hair. I wash my hair twice a week and donât use additional products on my hair.
Dr. Dray... what are your thoughts about using those "Micro infusion" products on your forearms.. to combat wrinkle arm skin?
I just picked up this shampoo and conditioner by LâOrĂ©al. I love it. And smell so pretty.
I have been looking for it, but I haven't seen it in the stores where I live, not even Target. I may have to order it online. I am glad it smells nice because I like my hair to smell good.
I have shoulder length straight smooth Asian hair so tangles or split ends were never an issue for me, so I never bothered to use conditioner. However, I always had static issues and would zap myself everywhere. Ever since I learned that conditioners neutralized the charges on hair, I wondered if I could mitigate the static issue. Surprise, it did! I never zap on anything anymore. Highly recommend conditioning even if to just protect from static zaps!
Thanks for the tip! Never knew that.
I am so jealous of your hair! đ
Good morning Dr Dray â€
Happy Tuesday!
Although I don't like many of the Eva NYC products I absolutely love their hair mask and it's in a huge tub.
One of the channel's I follow who has blonde hair likes their purple hair mask.
Thank you for this video! What I always wonder is, when you apply the mask is it still needed to put the conditioner before?
Can you do a video about fragrance-free options for those of us who require it? There is some really expensive (and maybe not so great) fragrance free shampoos, etc., out there!
Hey dr dray can you do a video on good drugstore shampoos and conditioners for different hair textures? As someone with thick wavy/slightly curly hair Iâm having difficulty finding a good drugstore shampoo and conditioner and hair products that enhance my waves and curls and donât weigh them done or straighten them
Are there any other hair masks you'd recommend? Would be great to see videos on it. đ
Thank you so much!
Dr. Dray!! How do you have glass skin, what did you use on your face this day, please?? đđ
Dr Dray, not related to scent - can you do a review on the product called Second Skin? Its for small lacerations.
Conditioner absolutely makes a difference in manageability if you have curly hair, even short curly hair.
I've just been using Vanicreams shampoo + conditioner. Love that it's fragrance-free. I find that other shampoos actually dry out my scalp and make it itch so much, as if I'm sensitive to the fragrance.
My daughter uses these. She loves them. We've been using Vanicreams face and body products for years and love the whole line.
I tried Vanicream shampoo and conditioner after my dermatologist recommended it for my itchy scalp but the conditioner wasn't moisturizing enough. When using it my long straight grey hair was dull with no body. And my scalp still itched by the 2nd day.
Then I tried Dr Dray's recommended Nizoral shampoo and conditioner. It's great!!! No head itch, pleasant scent, pricier but worth it for my needs. LOVE the conditioner. AND she said it may help for thinning hair. We'll see!
Pantene leaved my hair oily. Wash once a week, course hair. Eventually i đ Moved to making my own 7:09 from herbs in garden. And huge improvement. I will try the Loreal. Scalp has never been dry.
I love â€ïž fregrance in my hair care products
What are your thoughts about Tresemme Shampoo
Love your videos!! Love the âsimmerâ down comment!! My husband says that!! đ
I've always used Prell as a clarifying shamp. I'm old enough to remember when it came in a tube lol. Also Queen Helene Cholesterol mask is great for deep conditioning with lasting effects. I remember 2hen Vidal Sassoon came out with his line of products, they all smelled like almond extract, so nice.
I remember all of those items too
Great video as always! A fragrance free shampoo and conditioner that I have experience with is the Philip Kingsley No Scent No Colour shampoo and conditioner. Although these are not cheap, they are rather nice so they may be a good option for someone struggling to find fragrance free hair care.
I used this for years. Loved it - until it started to make my scalp itchy. I love the story behind it so I thought it would be super gentle. I was wondering if they changed the formulaâŠhappy it works for you! Jealous!
Was skimming comments sans glasses, and read "Ben Kingsley ...Shampoo" . đź đ Great actor, yes but great BALD actor đ OK, glasses ON â€
What's your opinion on Suave with argan oil or the kerarin one? These are a good price point and leave my hair looking and feeling nice and manageable, and I've tried alot! I have thick and wavy, almost curly hair.
Hello Dr.Dray! I wanted to know your thoughts about applying magnesium to the soles of the feet. I've been seeing it on my feed. Is it more helpful than taking it orally?
