honestly the most frustrating part of this is the answers you keep getting from the chat. Its so easy to say imps are lesser demons with very little power if any 😭 and leave it at that with no spoilers. You killed it tho, as usual💕

lol what do you mean "THEY HAVE SONGS?! 😭" there were 2 in the pilot episode and 1 at the beginning of the first episode. A bunch of people don't realize its a musical.
Watching Stolas try to talk to his daughter on the ride after watching season 2 episode 1 makes much more sense. You should go back to that moment after you see that episode
i love this series! just to clear things up for a future (spoiler free):
blitzø, moxxie and millie are imps, hellborn demons considered the lowest rank in demon hierarchy. loona is a hellhound, her rank similar to the imps. the owl demon who says all that stuff to blitzø on the phone is stolas, one of the ars goetia, who are one of the highest rank demons in all hell, he’s hella rich, powerful and important. also, only sinner demons aren’t born in hell, of course, they come from earth. all of the other demons (imps, hellhounds, royalty, succubi and incubi, etc) are all born in hell. hell is divided in seven rings, each one for each deadly sin, i.m.p are placed in imp city which is in pride ring, because that’s where the sinner demons live, sinner demons can’t leave the pride ring area.
the demon rank goes like this:
1. lucifer, one of the seven deadly sins (pride) and king of all hell
2. lilith and charlie, lucifer’s wife and daughter
3. the other six remaining deadly sins (one appears in the helluva boss series)
4. the ars goetia
5. overlords (sinner demons who are very powerful)
6. succubi and incubi and also average sinner demons
7. imps and hellhounds
there are more type of demons but they haven’t been shown yet so i don’t know where to put them.
i also recommend you to watch hazbin hotel if you haven’t yet, it’s a pilot from a different series but it’s in the same universe as helluva boss and it helps you to understand some things. charlie (lucifer’s daughter) is the main character of this series.

A fact to episode 1 - Millie was voiced by Loona's VA in the pilot, but they changed that and I love the "redneck" voice on her. In Episode 2 there had been a time skip... 18:23 - she went to sllep at the age of 5 and woke up at the age of 17...
The lore regarding creatures in Hell is a little hard to pick up on, but it's pretty simple, and not a spoiler in any way. There are 7 levels of Hell, each named after a different one of the deadly sins. Each level has a different colored sky and a species of demon that's native to it, but they all travel around pretty freely. The top layer, Pride, is the only one where you find human souls. It has a red sky, and is the primary location for this show and Hazbin Hotel. Human souls take a form representative of their personalities. You got imps from Wrath, succubi/incubi from Lust, etc. We haven't seen all the levels, so there's still speculation on what a few of them are like.
And on top of the main demon species, there are the various princes and other royalty of each level. That's a little less clear, but Stolas and his family are among them. Specifically they are goitia (go-eesha).
My guess is that not all imps are from Wrath, same for succubi/incubi in lust, simply because Blitzø only says M&M are from Wrath, impling he's from another ring. I headcanon that Blitzø's from greed or envy or something.
@@WaryJester ah, yeah. I don't think they mean ALL of the species are from that ring. That's just their ancestral home, and has the highest population.
@@Phoboskomboa 'They' as in 'you'? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's been 0 mention of imp's ancestral home in hell. In the Harvest Moon episode, Stolas says "hello, wrath-ring imps" impling that there are other kinds of imps, other races of imp so to speak. Another example, size differences. Some imps are huge compared to other imps the same age, like Blitzø and Moxie. Millie and Moxie are very wrathful, but Blitzø's core is greed or envy (depending on how you look at it), and that waitress from episode 7 is definitely lustful and living in the lust ring. I think it's a natural order, wrath imps are war-like and aggressive, greed imps are scheming and business-minded, lust imps are promiscuous or sex workers.
@@WaryJester I don't know a lot about it, so you might be right. I'm repeating what I saw in one of those videos explaining the lore. I'm definitely not claiming any expertise.

Stolas' voice actor is Bryce Pinkham, he is singing on Broadway, I think. Stolas can't finish the sentences, because he doesn't want to talk shit about the wife (that's what I think). The marriage will be talked about later on. As others already commented on it, this show is independent, and won't be picked up. It is mostly financed by merch and Patreon, I assume (I'm just a viewer, not a crew member or something). The other show of hers is picked up, but still in production, 2 years after the pilot episode...
uhh dunno if anyone explained but there are certain characters, like every member of I M P that are born in hell and are demonic, and certain characters are "sinners" which used to be people before going to hell and cant leave the circle of hell that their main sin was, where as all the demonic creatures can go between the circles, classic dantes inferno type view of hell with different sins for each ring
I'm not certain, but I think all humans stay on Pride, the top level. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure Angel Dust would be in either Lust or Gluttony. But what you said would make more sense.

Imps are smaller and don’t have as much powers/abilities as other hell-born creatures such as Hellhounds (Loona), Succubi (a character you’ll meet soon) and demon royalty such as Stolas (the owl). Imps are the lower class workers and farmers of their society. The demon types are all based on actual irl demonology, it’s super interesting. They’re not made up, they’re real fictional species from demonology. Also, the demons in the show who were human before going to hell are called “sinners”, because they sinned in life and that’s what made them end up in hell. Their appearance and abilities are based on who they were in life, they may be weak or very powerful and actually be a threat to powerful hell-born demons depending on who they were as people. They explain this better in Hazbin Hotel, which focuses on sinners and the hell-born princess of Hell, daughter of Lucifer, the king of Hell. It goes first in the chronology than Helluva Boss and is meant to be watched first

You have sinners who are dead people who have sinned, and creatures born in hell (such as imps) that didn't need to have committed any sin to be born there (which is Moxie's case if I'm not mistaken)

Schoot, hun, the transition was pretty apparent, you just tend to pause and seemingly forget what happened 2 seconds earlier xD
You should really be checking it out, it's very deep, and all though it does spell some things out most of the lore and important things are more implied and the story progresses a lot environmentally, so some things may go over your head and would recommend you to check a lore breakdown or something 😅🤷♂️
