    It was amazing! I bought the same stripper and I had a large pendant globe that was coated on both sides. I applied the stripper and waited 10 minutes. It all came off with paper towels and I used a steel wool pad to lightly get in the creases and remove any residue. It worked great and I was able to update my lighting with a little spray paint and some stripper.

    I have the opposite problem: I bought 2 modern style/minimalist frosted white wall sconces that look great with the lights on, but when the lights are off, they look TOO white--like I cut a piece of PVC pipe in half and hung on the wall! Lol! I'm searching for a way to add a translucent color to tone them down. Any ideas? I'm a little nervous about painting them, as I don’t want a blotchy look. Would some kind of stain work on the white frost coating?

  • @jennikaglickenhouse2712

    After cleaning the glass shades with the Critristrip, did you leave them completely clear or paint/frost them? If so, what did you use and how's it holding up with use/heat? I want to paint the glass light shades on our current chandelier but I'm not sure what paint will withstand the heat/use and adhere well to the glass. Thanks so much!

    • @AMATEURDECORATINGLIKEAPRO
      @AMATEURDECORATINGLIKEAPRO  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Jennika! They are holding up just fine. I did not paint them. The frost does not go away just all of the weird crackling effect on the outside. If you paint them, paint them on the outside with craft paint and spray with a clear acrylic.

    Run them through your dishwasher first. For me, this got 80% of the yellow off. This greatly reduced the amount of scrubbing. After the dishwasher, I used acetone, but I would think that any paint remover would work.
