I started fishing The Dark Sleeper about 4 years ago. Caught fish my first time throwing it and never looked back. Always have them in the boat all 4 seasons of the year. Works in dirty water too if you make some racket with it. Love your content Randy. C’MON 100K !!

I don’t agree with RB half the time. If you post nothing but positive then you’re a Liar or a ditto head suck up but not honest cause no one and I mean not even you agree with what anyone says 100% of the time not even RB.

RB has done two thing when he doesn’t like my words. He has deleted them 3 times (even though I follow his rules for his channel ) or when I responded to post like yours that’s not flattering to him (he has deletes other people comments 2 times).
Today since I’ve called him out on it (or is completely coincidental) he completely ignores my comments no matter how the order he reads them, one of the first to middle to last, he just ignores them, i haven’t got a response from him in weeks or comments with “you didn’t get the point of the video”. So either you’re with him or against him (from what I’ve personally noticed from his post) he likes Ditto heads like you cause you have zero to add to his PUBLIC FORUM
I think for myself, I happen to like this video very much, it’s not an over complicated lure.

He is preaching to the Coir and doesn’t really reach where it needs to be, in front of Tournaments, In front of more TD, in front of Tournament fishing guys who can help him makes a real change but he puts all his major energy of putting CZcams videos to men and women who agree with him
With most saying “yay Randy” cause they are ditto heads or guys like me who will tell him what he needs to hear (he doesn’t listen if you noticed his post. He won’t fix what’s wrong cause he likes Ditto heads like you

These baits are legit. I started using them way back when Tacticalbassin mentioned them. I've been catching fish on them ever since. Fishing them like Randy suggests works fantastic. Popping this bait out of grass works great for me as well.
A dark sleeper is my favorite bait to skip docks with.. I can skip it all the way to the sea wall and up in people's yards 😂.. but on a serious note, I love skipping that bait under docks because you can put it anywhere you want it and then fish it back like a jig or you can swim it out, I can't tell you how many tournaments me and my cousin have won because we were skipping this bait under docks.. then we would swim it out right in front of the dock and kill it and let it fall into a brush pile and then hop it out of the brush Piles... Sneaky sneaky bait that I don't think people even realize how many applications you can use it for!!

I own a few and I use them as a Jig when I do.
The problem I have is that any bass I can catch with The Dark sleeper I can catch with Tube Baits( Full disclosure
I inject and dip my own tube bait and tube jigs, I save a ton of money doing my own) since I make them I have utmost confidence in them so I’m biased and admit it.
When I do use a dark sleeper it’s when my jigs don’t produce well (I make them too) I use a 1oz spinnerbait to slow roll when I need more speed and/or flash (buying my own 1oz oz. Mold this year for it)
I can target bluegill chasing bass (all three and Striper)
It’s price is very reasonable for a Megabass lure in all their sizes. 1/4oz 2.4” $5.99 to 1oz. 3.8” $7.99. That’s a fair price for a lure that absolutely catches them.

Agreed I use the Texas tube and I will just slide a jig head hook inside it and it's always produced and it's a lot cheaper
Been on it for the past 3 or 4 years. Sculpin and Gobi are bottom huggers and are mimicked by the dark sleeper. Great small mouth bait !

I will say the dark sleeper is a fish catcher. The little 2 inch one has caught me a ton of fish when nothing else does. My preferred way to fish it is to jig it and let is flutter back down to the bottom and swim it on occasion.
The DS was a game changer in prerigged soft plastics. I gotta hand it to Zman tho, their Gobius is an improvement on nearly every level. The only thing MB has the advantage on (as of summer 2024) is size/weight diversity.
I love these lures. I use them as more of a weedless jig.
I fished the middle size today. Lake I was on has lots of weeds and a muddy bottom, a crawl with a bullet weight seems to do ok...the sleeper kept collecting a lot of weeds even in fairly weed less areas...so I just ended up swimming it around...one monster hit on it, it is by far the most realistic bait ever. Great job helping to design the sleeper. I will definitely use it when the bottom is more solid
Dark sleepers are great little swimbait/ jigs, I usually hop& drag them. I was kinda late to using them but I have a bag of assorted sizes & colors now
I bought a bunch of these. I used one of my fathers dark sleepers last year and I must say they’ll absolutely catch a ton of fish. Fishing it like a jig was very effective for me.
I bought them two years ago and my grandsons aways pick them out and catch largemouth bass in Indiana each time we use them. We use all three sizes and different colors. I am sure we will use them again this year, no reason not to use them.
The Sleeper family is going to have a new member.
1st we met the Dark Sleeper, then came Sleeper Gill and the new addition is Sleeper CRAW.

Just loaded up on Donko, Haze and Clear Pink for smallmouth. Good goby and perch imitators. Fish mine on a 6' 10“ Lew's Custom Lite Speed with a 6.3.1 reel.

I got this bait near the end of the season up here in north but I have yet to get any bites on it. I said first time the that water is open I plain or trying it again .
Same here sir , Northern Michigan ... lake Michigan. Nothing yet , but like other said above I'm reeling it in too quickly ..but think it's just too cold right ? Would a bass or pike be in 8-10 feet of water in 37 degree weather ? 🤔

The Savage Gear version of this is pretty slick too. A little more weedless and has those photo print bluegill patterns
Love this bait fished it wrong when I first got it. I fished it like a swimbait started fishing it like a jig the Wisconsin smallies crush it. Hook up ratio very good Megabass hit another home run!!
These and the Gill Sleeper are on my fishing to do list this Year. Pricey but if they work.
I just found one with eye missing; glued on a red eye. Excited to try it next time.
I was never really into these guys until I caught two fish in the same day that spit up a goby didn’t even know they were in the dam lake. I then said to myself I think it’s time to pick up a dark sleeper

Good bait, started using it in saltwater, my son caught some nice speckled trout on it. Going to use it for flounder as well.
I was catching fish on the Gulp swimmers . They swim like these . I just bought 2 sleepers this year caught nothing but the bottom and eventually lost them . I seem to have better luck with the Gulp.

The Dark Sleepers are smallmouth candy! Michigan waters are infested with the gobies, and all the predators up here hate them - I have no doubt these will catch a variety of species up here.
Bait works is the only place that stocks the V3 spinner baits. Mega bass has got to be the best fishing Lewers

I have 2 of these lures, the 3" Mutugorou and the Clear Chartreuse one, I gotta admit they are kind weird the way you have to retrieve them in order to catch fish, I use the "mini yoyo"way, short up and downs on a little slack and you're right!! they bite it usually on the way up even when they're not spawning. Don't swim them, Bass don't seem to like it. You basically Carbon Copy all I do with these babies making me even more confident on the lure now that a Pro like you proves my technique. I just saw something that looked identical made by ozark trail at Walmart for a dollar.
Fishing lake Murray KBF series, from a kayak at the end of February. I no there's no 1 answer I'm having trouble knowing the bass behavior and I don't think it's cheating to ask about behavior. And realize I'm very limited to around 8 _12 miles, At 4mph.any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Randy 👌 😊

Any recommendations for what to use in the Hudson River (North of NYC)? I’ve tried the sleepers and a variety of other baits and am really struggling. Targeting large/small mouth bass. Much appreciated!

Thanks. Everytime I see the dark sleeper section it's hard to decide. Same time when I'm at Bass pro they'll have three hooks for each size and color so hard to determine by what's low.
