Great video. Thank you!
Beautiful guide, thanks!
I wanted to reach out and inform you that we currently have some
fantastic deals on our eBay listing for our Tesla accessories.
😍 love it
Thanks for the instructional vid and review. I wanted to check in to see how the yoke wheel is holding up. Any issues? How's the quality of leather doing? Is it also easy to clean the white leather? Is it nappa leather?
Yes it’s Nappa leather, and it still looks great. No peeling or cracking. I still get a bunch of complements!
I spoke to Tesla (UK) and it would immediately void the warranty on a Model 3 as a non-standard part. My insurance company doesn't like it either. Suggesting one refits the original in case of problems is just asking for trouble on so many fronts. Such a shame as a white leather yoke in a white interior is gorgeous.
I think I am going to get one of these after watching your vid - the best one I have seen about this change hands down. Probably going stock flat style but heated perforated black leather. Oooooo. I tried the discount code but it didn't work, so I sent them a message to ask. Thanks for the install video! Question - is it 100% necessary to disconnect the batteries, or is the main screen "power off" sufficient? I have seen other videos say the batteries do not "have to" be disconnected. Thoughts on that? Thanks again for the vid!
Hi there, thanks for watching! I just tried my discount code "becausetesla" and it worked. Are you located in the US? Maybe it isn't set up for customers overseas. I really love my Aroham wheel. I've also seen the yoke wheels that Hansshow sells, and they're just as nice. If Aroham doesn't respond, try cross-shopping at Hansshow to compare products and prices. The same coupon code works there too.
Great video! Do you know if installing this will void the warranty with Tesla? My Aroham steering wheel in in route and should arrive next week but didn't think about the warranty.
It should not void any warranty. That being said, I would encourage you to install it yourself. That way if you ever need to take it in to the shop, you can swap it back out with the factory wheel, and they'll never know. It doesn't take very long to swap.
HI, I did th
is thank you for the vid. After I plugged in the power and the 12v I get an error VCfront_a552. I understand it is a 12v battery issue. My battery is rather new do you think I messed it up? Or is there a reset I need to do?
Reverse the steps and go back to your stock wheel. Does the problem clear? If not , schedule a service with Tesla. There is a defect with your front control module and maybe battery. The less mods you have, the less they can blame and deny warranty. Did you disconnect both batteries during this installation or just the 12v?
the new steering wheel goes with all components installed in?
Everything except the airbag.
I cant put back the air bag back. It doesn’t snap back in what did I do wrong?
Did u have any issue getting the yoke onto the mount. I can't seem to slide it back into place

I need help, I connected everything and had ton of warnings and lost much of the autopilot capabilities. There was a grinding sound and breaking. Now it’s the best aesthetics and feel.
Love your install videos. Thanks for always taking the time to show the details. I just received and installed my White/Black Aroham Yoke that looks like yours except for the Carbon Fiber. Removing that bolt is no joke and I used a 16in breaker bar with a 24in pipe over it. Also, my 2018 M3 original wheel was difficult to remove which took about 5 min of constant tugging left/right and up/down. Wasn’t expecting that. Everything else went smoothly and really ups the cool factor.
I'm glad you like your yoke! I'm loving mine still, and I get so many compliments on it!
Did yours have headed feature?
No, my 2019 Model 3 didn’t come with heated feature, but installation is the same. Just one extra cable to reconnect.
Wonderful information. Thank you buddy.
I freaking LOVE the look of the white yolk with the white Tesla. I feel like I may even be able to do it myself after watching you. Thanks for the inspiration!
I try to make my instructions foolproof. Just take your time, and you'll be fine. My white yoke is one of my favorite mods. I get so many compliments on it also...mostly from people in drive-up windows (banks, restaurants, etc.).
It’s been over three months.. are you still using the yoke? What are your current thoughts/review. My MYLR is still not here…August delivery is most recent prognostication.
Hi Greg! Yes, I still have my yoke wheel, and I'm in love with it. It makes the car even more fun to drive. I get so many compliments on the wheel.. especially at the drive-thru window to pick up food. Just yesterday I had a Model Y owner park next to me at a supercharger station and he couldn't figure out what model car mine was. I explained to him that it's a Model 3, but I've modified it a bit. He thought it looked great too!
@@BecauseTesla is your discount code still viable, if so what % is it, thanks.
@@greginland8873 Yes, the code still works. It is not a percentage (I just tried it out on a bunch of things at different prices) and it takes $9 off anything over $400. Feel free to shop around though...Hansshow also sells similar yokes and my discount code there should still be 15% off. Code on both sites is becausetesla. Play around with pricing on both sites to see which works out better for you.
Looks nice, but not for me.
I do wonder how the yoke will affect the airbags effectiveness. Doesn’t the steering wheel act as a cradle to support the bag when it’s deployed?

@@kristelarabit3511 lol
I saw the price on your Vlog at the beginning. It’s $508.00.
Is there a different yoke or different steps for a heated yoke?
Yes and Yes. When you place an order for a yoke steering wheel, you have options. One of those options is to add the heated element. This only works if your car from the factory comes with a heated wheel. My older Model 3 does not have a heated wheel from the factory, so I will not be able to "upgrade" to a heated wheel. If you order a heated yoke, you install it the same way, but there is one additional wiring harness to unclip and reclip. You will see it once you take the airbag cover off. Instead of 2 harnesses like mine, you'll have 3. But other than that, no other steps.
@@BecauseTesla much thx
What brand is that driver screen? Ans do you like it ?
It’s from Hansshow. I put a link in the video description so you can check it out. I do like it. It’s not a must have device because I think the car is plenty capable from the factory, but I do think that it’s a pretty cool toy. If you miss having a screen in front of you, then this is the one to get.

Can you use an impact gun?

Did you ever use the impact gun?
Why switch from round steering wheel to yoke steering.

How long did it take to get delivered? Also how is it holding up I’m just nervous ordering from china thanks
It’s holding up great! I would definitely order again. Shipping is a few weeks. I love mine, so the wait was worth it.
Good job. I’ve seen a bunch of install videos…. yours gets it done quite well. Are the control wheels the updated metal ones ? I’ve got my second Y scheduled for May delivery and want to try the yoke. Hansshow seems to be prevalent but clearly not the only game in town… and yours is at a more competitive price point.
Control wheels are not updated to metal yet, and to be honest, that aspect does not bother me at all. These original controls work and feel great to me. You’re absolutely correct that this is a great yoke at any price, but the competitive price is the main reason to choose Aroham over its competitors.
Do a lot of research re Hansshow. They apparently have some serious issues with support and downright failure of some of their oeerings. Just sayin'...
I just got an update from Aroham, and they said that they can give you the metal scroll wheels if you ask for them when you place your order. So it truly is a custom wheel, and a great bargain.
@@The_DuMont_Network Hansshow or aroham has issues?
@@Ekelly00 I have seen many CZcams and other articles about difficulties with Hansshow, especially after the sale. I've not seen anything regarding Aroham. Most of the issues were with the motorized trunk and frunk systems. These may be a small fraction of their sales, maybe not. Therefore, I do not condemn them, but suggest a lot of research on the matter.
No lock-tite on the bolt? Seems a little sketchy
If anyone reading this wants to use locktite thread locker, I highly recommend using the "Blue" locktite. Red or green will be a major pain to remove in the future if you decide to swap back to the factory wheel (for resale). You generally want to use locktite on bolts that are prone to rattle or vibrate as that can loosen them up. I use locktite on my gas cars because gas engines vibrate during idle and also during open throttle. EVs have very little rattle/vibration (unless you constantly drive on bumpy or unpaved roads), so I wouldn't say it's 100% necessary there. It won't hurt anything if you do feel better about using locktite on it. In that case, go for it.
I have a 22 model 3 long range do i have to disconnect battery?
Technically no, you don't need to. The airbag should only deploy if a crash sensor tells it to...but...for added peace of mind, I disconnected the battery to show those who are more nervous about this.

What is price of this Yoke Steering Wheel?
The link to the Yoke is in the description below the video. It's made by Aroham. I believe the full price is $510, but if you use coupon code "becausetesla" the price drops down to $490. I believe Hansshow also makes a similar yoke, and the same coupon code works there too. Just try each one to see who gives you the best price. I LOVE my yoke!
Wait, is this in HDR??
Stats for Nerds to the rescue! IT IS!!! WHAAAAAAAATTTT
@@livegolfismygt yeah I was wondering why my phone seemed so dim when I had the video in Picture in Picture mode while looking at the yoke listing. The HDR looks great
A yoke makes no sense unless the steering ratio is variable. A yoke works if the steering is about 135° to full lock, but not on the Model 3 where it's a full turn and you have to cross your hands over constantly.
Looks nice until you need to make a 360° turn with the wheel😂. Looks like trying to turn with a broom
Am I the only one wondering if the white steering wheel gets noticeably dirty?
Ya I can't get my bag to click in and now it's saying service is required to activate horn and dials
I wanted to reach out and inform you that we currently have some

Did you ever resolve the issue and what was it?
@@flatt585 ya so there's a big like trapezoid metal wire that sits I'm the steering wheel. It's what the air bag connects to. Basically the wire u push in to pop it off. Well the yoke never came with that piece. So I had to pop it off and install on new one.
@@gianlucaalessia5538 ohh ok. I’m glad you fixed it. I think my Hannshow came with it. Waiting on the car then I’ll install
@@flatt585 whatever you do, make sure the wheel is perfectly straight then slide the old one off and then slide the new one on. Mine was a bitch to get on, it didn't want to slide in at all. So as I was trying i moved the steering well sensor, it's the big white disc in the steering wheel column that you connect the wires to, well that broke the sensor and then it had to be replaced. Was giving me like 10 error codes, it disabled auto pilot, brake hold, regen braking and a bunch of other stuff.why if u line it up, before you take old one off, makes it much easier to line up new one. There's Lil notches in the part where it slides on, almost impossible to notice unless ur looking for them, if those aren't lined up perfectly it won't go on. Why it helps if the wheel is perfectly straight to start. Then, do not touch the white disc on the steering column at all and you'll be fine. The new one might take some wiggling to get on or if u get it on just a bit, you can put the bolt back in and as u tighten that, it'll pull the steering wheel into place. But I freaking love mine now that it's on and everything's working lol
What about upgrading your Tesla accessories? I know where you can get it at a fair price! Just reply here if you want to check out :)
yoke steering wheel in a street car...YIKES
I take it you've never driven one. I absolutely love my yoke. I would not recommend a yoke if you plan on drifting the car (spinning the wheel rapidly), but for daily driving, it has been incredible.
Love the white. But the carbon fiber killed it for me. If I can change that to Matte back I would definitely buy it
The carbon is just one example. There is an option without it. aroham.net/collections/tesla-replacement/products/for-tesla-yoke-steering-wheel-white-leather-and-special-design-for-model-3-model-y-1?variant=40330403512364
Its a great deal to upgrade your steering wheel to a yoke steering wheel.
That driving w the yoke is just dumb. A real yoke wouldn’t have to spin like that to turn. They need to make an advanced one with gears that double the turn ratio.
Nice, but no thanks to doing this mod. Last thing I need to do is wreck my vehicle so it does not work properly. Plus if Tesla or insurance does not approve of this, it is a no go for me.
No matter how well it looks.
Bye!!!!
The second screen and that stupid steering wheel are Super Ugly. If you want a circus in car buy an Audi or a BMW.
