The trailers felt more like Dead by Daylight type of survivor horror game.
IGN even back then titled it as DBD with Alien.
Guns were not shown at all and showed off more utility based items like flare, light, map reader etc.
Survivors trying to open door to escape while setting up light traps and equipment as the creature players trying to prevent the survivors.
ah yes becuase they changed the game ground up and produced it within a week to get its sucsess but lets ignore the fact its all ready had private betas open on youtube to watch for weeks and some before hell divers 2 realese @@crash6269
Kinda reminds me of the game natural selection. Except now it's an extraction shooter.

@@slyjah-wp4lr it was originally another asymmetrical dead by daylight type of thing with no guns and the only way to fend off aliens was through light traps

Yeah
Basically it's Escape From Tarkov PVP but instead of scavs, you can spawn/play as a monster.
hunt has better concept with the boss enemy
Looks very cool but I'm skeptical of the PVP balancing. Would love to play with my friends, Hell Divers 2 gameplay currently scratching that itch.

Yeah, peoples attention spans when artificially forced grinding and progression aren't present is a little alarming lol . All everyone wants to do is rush to the "endgame" and complain there's nothing to do
these types of games are impossible to balance sufficiently and always die out

Dead by Daylight is still going strong. But, the original poster is right, this genre is harder to nail down than a battle Royale. The originator of this series couldn't even get the series nailed down (Evolve).
Almost none of this looks real, just like the previous trailer- and it seems they completely changed the concept of the game?
Yeah the older trailers felt much closer to Dead by Daylight style of surviving game.
The IGN trailer even back then called it DBD with Alien Isolation.
No guns and just utility items to help survive.
Now it's FPS.
The voice of the narrator reminded of Kevin Conroy, it's the closest I've heard someone come near his voice.

My only major gripe is that the shuttle descending into the atmosphere is burning its thrusters in the direction it's going, to speed UP on re-entry, and not using them to SLOW THE HECK DOWN. But my understanding of orbital mechanics and propulsion dynamics haunts me every day. Cool game.

Looks likea game to finally replace what cycle frontier was.
It would be interesting if every time the player dies, you wouldn’t die but rather was kidnapped by the aliens and your genome changed little by little over time until you become one of the psychotic aliens. It would just make the game more difficult the more you die, building in more incentive to not die and lose game progress.

I'm currently loving the hell out of the Dead Space remake, and as a primarily single-player gamer, I'll say I'm a bit disappointed. I'm sure that cooperative players will get a kick out of this, though. It does look like it has some serious potential.

Looks Radical - imagine mercanaries takin on this mission because they could retire after this for the amount of money tbey will make and they are outfitted with the best weapons and gear they could want included - then they get there and the fear if no knowing what they are hunting starts to slowly drip into their sub concious - until they realize that they wont make it home

idk, it doesn't leave a lot of confidence when most of the trailer is very obviously pre-animated footage and not actual gameplay.
