I have a couple Savages that are tack driving S.O.B.’s! One is a plain old Savage Axis II Precision in 6.5 creedmoor, and the other is a Savage 110 action with a 26” Shilen barrel in an MDT LSS XL chassis chambered in 6mm creedmoor. Both have shot sub 1/4” groups at times, but are solid sub moa rifles with damn near anything I feed them. The 6.5 seems to like the 140 grain bullets the best. Like yours, it’s not terrible with the lighter bullets, but after watching it shoot sub 1/2” groups, it’s hard to accept anything much bigger than 3/4”-1”, so I keep loading and testing until I get the results I want. A bad day at the range, is still a day at the range!

Yeah, trying to make these 130’s work but not so easy, fortunately these are the last 130’s I have. So back to 140’s and up! Tks for the comments.

There are some really good SDs. Great velocities. Ok groups. Appreciate the description & demonstration. Thank you.

Yeah, gonna take the best SD/ES loads and work on jump distances now. Tks for the comments!

Save that 215M unobtanium for a load that really needs it! I've been hand loading the 143gr ELD-X in the 6.5 with Lapua small rifle primer brass and 4350 with the CCI BR4 small rifle primers and have not had one hangfire or problem in the -30 Celsius winter weather hunting with them. 1.63ES with an SD of 0.85 over a 5 shot group works just fine for my needs! One word of caution swapping out between magnum and non magnum primers - the magnum primers tend to raise pressure by approximately 3000 over the standard ones. You can verify this with GRT.
    Thanks for the video!

Yeah, that was an expensive “just ink” one 😂. Tks for watching!

My two Tikkas liked the 130 Berger OTM Hybrid in the Fed factory load, had a heck of a time fing the Berger, so tried the 136gr Scenar L, tried H4350 & RL16 in it , essentially no difference other than velocity, RL16 was a bit faster. I set the seating depth at the same as the Fed factory load on the Scenars, ran .6 to .7 on the ladder loads at 100 & 200, used the Peterson brass, fed 210M. Pretty pleased as one is a TAC a1 and the other is a superlite, they basically shot the same, between the two different bbl's.

I will trade you for those large rifle magnum primers I need them for 300 PRC. I havefound Standard Rifle primers what the book calls for with H4350 in CCI has the lowest extreme spread. With 6.5 i did an extreme spread primer test.

Have you seen Johnny’s reloading benches hang fire videos? That’s why I lean towards Cci military or magnum primers. I have run the Cci standard lrp without an issue. It maybe more related to srp. If I were close I’d give you a few lrp magnums!

@@Hazzbro1964 Yes I have seen it. It absolutely can happen but never had a hang fire in 30 years. Though I do what many say are un-necessary crap. I clean my primer pockets and make sure they are all the same depth, even on new brass.

Additionally they are seated deep enough that they are almost at max sammi spec. I measure the primer cup and the pocket in the brass and make sure it is making contact with the bottom of the pocket. This has done more for ignition reliability than anyting else for me. 1.63ES with an SD of 0.85 over a 5 shot group works just fine for my needs! Never had luck with VLDs or maybe not the patience. I think most people have the best results loading into the lands or a LOT of jump .100-.120". I'll stick to the Target and Hybrid.

Stick with the 140's and 147's. They are a lot better in the wind anyway, and those groups look like crap.

@@Hazzbro1964 I shoot 142 matchkings on my 6.5 prc and it kills 147 eldms. When shooting long range I found the Eldms to have random flyers that the sierra 142s doesnt have.
