Well technically we should address her as the Empress not the Queen as Empress is more powerful monarch/consort than a queen because empress rule an empire not a kingdom. As she was the first concubine to be freed and became the legal wife of Suleiman the Magnificent, Hurrem Sultana was the first Haseki/Chief Consort/The favourite and only wife at the time making her having the same equal status as Empress, outranking Imperial princesses (such as Hatice Sultana) and prince (such as Sehzade Mustafa) regardless of her not having the Ottoman bloodline and was a slave. I really love when hurrem goes to the sultan n opens his arms. She than runs to him like an excited little girl. N the sultan only allowed hurremto do that. She was in fact very young when she became sultana. I believe the sultan was mostly on hurrems side cuz he knew how the other witches treated her. He was also very rough with hurts.. In the end she got all she fought for. Love hurrem

I agree to an extent that Kosem became ruthless because she was enslaved, but everybody has a darker side to them and their current situation will bring it out. Harems themselves had a political foundation and didn’t reflect the individual that the harem served. For example, Suleiman disregarded many other women after meeting Hurrem for a very long time.
