    I agree, explaining how you twist by saying clockwise and/or counterclockwise is the best way to describe it clearly. Thanks for a detailed tutorial!

    Great tutorial!!!! I love tutorials from experts....not people trying out the styles for the first time. Wonderful tips! I like the tip of having the “client” hold the twist to have it not pull on the scalp. This tutorial also has encouraged me to try the crescent parting method which I have never done before.

    Wow, you are awesome. I have never seen anyone put time stamps like this for a hair tutorial. I don't normally comment but I wanted to say thanks for that.

    I saw this video on a short and had to come and see the full video. This is going to be the next hairstyle I will try. I really do like this method that you did versus the rubber band and crochet methods I have seen while surfacing youtube to find this one. I am trying to save money doing my hair while learning how to do these hairstyles. Thank you for putting this video together.

    Hi, you did a beautiful job. How many packs of hair did you use?

    • @iamlexitracy
      @iamlexitracy  Před 2 lety

      Hi! Thank you! I believe i used about 6-8 packs. It will vary depending on the how big or small you make them and on the head of your client or the person you’re working on.

    Perfect video! I’m going to try and do these. I’m tired of paying $200! How many twist do you recommend each row?

    • @iamlexitracy
      @iamlexitracy  Před 2 lety +5

      The bottom rows near the nape(back of the head) and the top rows will always have less twists because the section is smaller if you were to part it diagonally(going across). And the sections in between(the middle, crown & parietal ridge) will always have more twists going across diagonally because it’s a bigger section.
      So the bigger the section, the more twists. The smaller the section the less twists depending on the size of your twist & the size of your head & density of your hair.
      With that being said, there isn’t a right or wrong amount of twist for each row. It’s up to your discretion, how spaced out you want the twists to be or how close you want them to be.
      After allll of the info i gave you to let you know that there’s no right or wrong amount of twist for future reference; now I’ll just throw a number out there lol.
      If you were to split your hair in three sections (with 3 rows per section). Medium size
      Section 1(the back)
      1st row: 3-4 twist
      2nd row: 4-5 twist
      3rd row: 5-6 twist
      2nd section: (middle)
      1st row: 7-8 twist
      2nd row: 7-9 twist
      3rd row: 7-8 twist
      3rd section:(top)
      1st row: 5-6 twist
      2nd row: 4-5 twist
      3rd row: 3-4 twist
      When you’re parting, think of a sphere. You’re parting diagonally around a sphere (it’s not a flat surface) so check your partings to ensure there are even and balanced. It’s a little challenging for beginners but you got this!!

I'm not sure if Jersey is still in shut down but when you all open it would be great if i could come in. I clicked on the info in the description box but nothing came up. Thats why I'm sending this long message.

    • @iamlexitracy
      @iamlexitracy  Před rokem

      Here are a few suggestions:
      1) A strong holding mouse & spritz.
      2) You can also dip it in hot water.
      3) You can also take the corners of a flat iron and run it across.
      4) Wrap it after putting your holding products and sit under a dryer to set it

    How do you get the lid on the kettle to stay opened? I just bought one and went to steam some braids and the lid kept flopping in the way.

    • @iamlexitracy
      @iamlexitracy  Před 3 lety +1

      It was probably the brand you bought. My kettle doesn’t do that lol. It stays open when i open it. You could probably put something in between it to keep it opened of just hold the lid open with your thumb.
