Hello guys, I have designed and built a 100 mm Dual propeller ducted fan in this video and compared the thrust of two different propeller configurations. The ducted fan has a 96 mm diameter and is 3D Printed. I am using two DYS Series motors of 1700 Kv.
I have designed a new blade for it.
Check the maximum thrust obtained and use these results for your future projects.
Check out the video to check the thrust test of the motor and make one for you.
Thanks for watching and liking, sharing, and subscribing.

A list of suggestions I would recommend is making the 2nd stage with a mor aggressive angle and maybe if you try a 3rd stage that’s even more aggressive with a housing that funnels in at the exhaust ever so slightly and adding a flare around the intake to increase the directing of the air in therefore increasing compression. You could also add a vein to direct airflow better in the initial stages I’d recommend looking up a variable state vein. I hope my recommendations helped increase the efficiency of your motor designs I love making new things and helping people do it

EDF will not realy 'compress', its more about flow.
3rd stage ist not realy effective, counter rotating IS. Thats as counter rotating it serving as a better statur vanes that have to be there to remove the swirl in the flow.

test needs to include external static pressure test..to determine the load on the motors. less thrust may be due to lack of air volume passing through... increase pipe size and check motor temp.... really enjoying your vids... thank you

Most imporant suggestion, make the fan housing two parts and put the fance in the middle immediately faceing each other instead of this far apart.
Second: the rear fan needs LESS angle od attack as the first. This is because the swirrl of the first cause an natural increase of the angle of attack for the second. So it needs less physicxal angle of attack.
Heino Dittmar did counter rotating fans in the late 90th as the canned motors of that time were so ineffective and have elaborate this already.
Got lost with more effective motors that the increase of effectivity of counter rotating fans got lost für simplicity of design with single fans.

I truly admire your effort.. Perhaps you could start back to design the fan blade after having some looks into the fluid mechanics text book.. The rear fan will need to have higher pitch subject to the angular velocity of the airflow after pushed by the 1st stage.. The numbers of blade need to be unique number.. Anyway wish u all the best in designing the best edf for your needs.

i thinkt that there is a realistic chance that you can make the 2nd stage angle more aggressive since the 1st stage already is acceleration the air, anyway, great video man

Can you make an EDF that can match the sound of a jet engine. Eg: jetcat p300 or other hobby turbine engines.

    • @MechNinja
      @MechNinja  Před 10 měsíci

Well if you here it's sound..then it's similar to jetcat p300....
The main difference is that, EDf uses only a single fan blade but jetcat p3000 uses multiple blades including a compressor and turbine hence the sound is different....
Do one thing....chech my mini turbine engine video....it's a jetcat model and produces same sound.
